    Thank you for taking the time to provide support and advice for us women with adhd.❤ I grew up being told I was capable and so smart and couldn’t have adhd. By everyone, family, friends, even teachers and school counselors. Despite struggling with keeping up with assignments and focusing in classes. So resources like this are so affirming and needed. I am 27 just diagnosed and I feel like I know nothing on how to help myself. However resources like this, free, supportive, and informative are truly helping not only in managing my adhd but also my internalized shame, and guilt. Thank you so much!❤

    i’m not an overly emotional person, but at 38:24 i genuinely started tearing up. i very recently found motivation to get control of myself and my life and these your videos are the first i’ve found and i’ve already taken so much from
    them.
    the voice that brought me here, seeking to learn how to manage myself, is saying that life didn’t end at 26, and i no longer see that as a failure. it’s an opportunity. and i care about and love myself enough to put the work in to give that failure meaning.

    I haven't finished the whole video yet but it's very helpful and interesting so far. I'm in my mid 30s and currently studying something I don't care but I need a job. I have no idea what else to pursue because I don't know what I'm good at. Currently it's such a struggle to even sit down and study this topic. When I was young I WAS good at creative writing and art but I lost interest in those things and also since I stopped practicing I'm no longer good at them! It seems to be all about practice. I'm thinking maybe I'm just naturally not good at anything, it's just down to putting the effort into those things.

    Preparing for an interview, that's what I'm avoiding currently. I HATE everything about interviews and the preparation for them.

    • @DrSharonSaline
      @DrSharonSaline  Před 5 měsíci

      I don't blame you. Interviews are so stressful. Use a little trick I've learned: When the interviewer asks you a question, say, "That's a really interesting question. When I reflect on it. . ." before you answer so you can buy some time. It's also okay to circle back to a question later in the conversation if you get a good follow up point. Good luck!

    I'm 43 and following an event late last year whilst studying for a course it hit home that a lot of my struggles may be because of ADHD. I am now seeking a diagnosis. Meanwhile, I am doing my best to continue my full time job which involves a lot of good executive functioning 😵‍💫 I've been through a lot of youtube videos but hands down this video is the best I've found. It articulates whats going on and why, and most importantly what to practically do. Susan you've helped me so much. I cant wait to explore more of your content. 😊

    Yeah, what about you? Didn’t mention saying that that I feel the thing that bothers me which is that there’s so many things that I need to do so many things that I want to do and I don’t know which one to do because I feel like none of them are going to get finished. I feel like I don’t have enough time to do any of them and they’re going to drag on until another day just Don’t want to do one thing that takes all night that I still don’t get done because every time that I stop and restart it’s like I’m starting all over again I’ve lost all the progress that I’ve made on it because I don’t start it back up immediately. It takes me another wow very long time to get the inertia going to move into the right move in the right direction to start and succeed at completing a large part of the task.

    Paperwork is so important, but such drudgery. If a question requires looking up information, it can derail my progress.
