@Raychle Bernoth The producers of the show are not necessarily looking to give a makeover that will make the model look better. What they want to do is stir up drama/controversy because that is what gets people to tune in. Its not about making a product that is "good" but a product that get the most views. That is how they make their money and they don't care about how it affects the models.

What I don't get, is that Molly was very patient while she was getting her hair done, and then everyone in the salon saw how crazy her hair looked and were trying desperately to make it somewhat presentable. And then Jay comes along, and tells her to suck it up, if it's what the customer wants then you just do it. Like wtf? I didn't see her complaining, and even if she did it was very obviously fucked?

goodgirl140 In the episode, the lady doing her hair told them that they were having trouble with the weave because Molly's hair was too straight. When hair is that silky, it becomes very hard to get any traction with the needle. The weave was literally sliding down her hair cause her hair is so silky. Jay should've notified Tyra and told her that the look wasn't going to happen, but he let the hairstylist finish and Molly had to look cray in her pic. Smh!
At the end of the day she came back with a vengeance especially in Morocco. She knocked all the girls out one by one. Not sure how she didnt win. That camel photoshoot was everything

I'd like to remind everyone this is the season they gave Brittani, and Molly super short, mom-espue haircuts after the final runway show, and right before judging for absolutely no reason what so ever. It was like as if losing wasn't bad enough, now you gotta leave with an ugly haircut you can't do anything with. They did them dirty, that's for sure.

I’m actually really impressed that Molly held it together in front of the stylists. She can be a complainer and I’m glad she wasn’t directly rude to any of the professionals, she just kept it to herself until they left and she had her confessionals.

I think even while her hair is thin... If someone actually KNEW what they were doing ON WHITE hair it could have worked! But you can't just use a black hairstyle on white hair without doing ANY adjustments! Like a friend once did for me (when my hair was falling out horribly due to hormon therapy) some senegal twists. Of course that would not really work the traditional way so she had to braid it a tiny bit on the scalp so that the braiding hair wouldn't just fall out right away.
I always hated the makeover portion of this show. I felt like it was more about shock value than what really worked for the individual. Like one out of however many would be the only one that looked good.....

Tbh all of these topmodel hair things just leave a sour taste in my mouth. i think the shows goal is to create/fabricate drama for the show and stripping girls identities is just a good way to do it since not everyone will take it well. Topmodel tells you nothing about the modelling industry. They show you fabricated drama by pressuring woman into competing in a nasty manner and that’s pretty disgusting. These girls could be any type of person but the show just wants you to see the worste of them. Especially the hair stuff and how they have no choice gives me a eerie feel. I know that as a model your body is treated literally like a an object but in the context of this show this just isn’t their main goal. Their goal is to drive these woman into mad competition and hostility. It’s literally a competition on who looks most beautiful and it has nothing to do with the actual serious modelling industry. Anyone can chose their own entertainment but i personally can’t really watch this crap and take it seriously.
Daleeny I stopped watching after this one season where the girl who was the underdog ended up slaying. She worked so hard and deserved to win but then after the final show they decided because she used to be an escort (a fact she said was disclosed with the show before she entered the competition) that she was disqualified and they gave it to the mousy “weird” girl who acted like she was to artistic and unique to be a model. I liked the mousy girl but she wasn’t the best. She only made it to the finale because she was different and cute with big eyes. The girl that got disqualified was amazing. But I think they only accepted her 8n because they didn’t actually expect her to win and represent them. So when she did win they were like “shit! Joanna Marie they did it because her hair is so thin and fine on its own, which is a reason to do a weave, but that stylist should have admitted it was a poor decision and changed it half way through. There is no way she didn't see how bad that looked.
