I love how the 'before' photos were taken in like the worst possible lighting ever, so that the 'after' photo looks good, regardless of what they do.

Their skin definitely looks alot more glowy in the before pics. I think the photoshoot lighting washes them all out so much and looks terrible

@@WiebkeBukkake That's literally just not true. There were fewer products, I guess, but there were PLENTY of ways to tone your hair properly instead of leaving it peepee yellow.

Tyra def cared more about doing drastic changes than subtle stuff to bring out natural beauty. I remember in the second boys vs girls season they have Shei black and white hair and then she didn’t book some of her go-sees BECAUSE of the look she had.
Yeah but I LOVED Shei’s hair so much like that was my favorite transformation but I do see how it stops her from excelling in the modeling career

i feel like i’m the beginning 9/10 times the models were getting subtle changes, if any cause there had definitely been a decent amount of times where they did no change at all…..but over time i think it turned into everyone getting a complete makeover and their looks were changed drastically and some of the changes were actually insane!! also 8/10 models had their hair CHOPPED off or even totally shaved bald!!!! no one catching a free pass, which is totally fine except for the fact that it seemed to be only because of, like you said, the fact that tyra wanted to make sure she was changing everyone in some way drastic or not
To think they were in a country where fashion is a bit out of the ordinary
Anytime Tyra says “platinum” or “icy” I know it’s going to be yellow.

Video idea: Brad should bring a contestant from America’s next top model that got a “bad” ty-over and give them the makeover that they deserved or would have fit them best 💁🏽♀️

It annoys me how they wash the girls’ complexions out in the “after” photos, I don’t know if it’s the lighting the photos are shot in or the editing afterwards but there’s some girls with beautiful tan skin, olive skin, dark skin and in the “after” photos they just look washed out and.....white?
Not “white” like Caucasian, thank goodness you can still tell some of the girls are ethnic, but I mean WHITE, like blank A4 paper sheet white
Honestly a lot of photographers just don't know how to deal with darker skintones, I'm willing to bet that that's what happened here. Photographer just didn't know what to do so they made them all look the same.

I was thinking the same thing.
A lot of the time it's what happens when they edit the photos. They're trying to smooth out the skin and make them look radiant, but the photoshopper messed up by not using the right highlighting and contouring colors for each individual skin tone when they were touching up all the photos.

This was the only season I watched, and Nicole was my favourite. And she won that year.
Why are these makeovers so often tragic? The stylists act like they’ve never cut hair, or colored hair, or seen hair...Of course, if they were all good, then Brad wouldn’t get to be so hilariously upset by the results 😂❤️

I don't know, I feel like some times they just run out of ideas for these women. Like, why do the same hair style on two women? Doesn't make sense to me. The point is to stand out and be unique and different. Not much of a difference in some.

Very girl ever who bleached their hair at home
Try a scalp treatment with Shea butter two to three days before bleaching, rinse very well and don’t wash your hair again before bleaching. Put a thick zinc cream on your edges (not the hair, just skin) to avoid bleach running or crumbling towards your face, down yourneck, into your ears. (Also helps for dyeing hair at home, avoid discoloration)
@@Philemaphobia yess!! And if someone’s allergic to Zink you can use Vaseline or fresh aloe Vera.
@@jessicalemke4571 I have a zinc cream specially for the purpose of not being petrochemical, therefore Vaseline is not an alternative for me, as for Aloe Vera: I would have to grow my own in unfitting climate to test it, as the ones you can buy around here usually stretch the term ‚fresh‘ up to reeking point :D

the makeovers were never about making the girls looking more professional, they were done to illicit a reaction so they have drama and so they can give someone the villain edit for being "a diva" or unprofessional.

Exactly. Especially the crazy hairstyles. You don't see models in magazines, on billboards, on runways, etc. with crazy ass styles. They have normal hair so that the client can mold the model into what their needs are. If you come in with crazy hair it makes your client pool smaller

The first time I ever went to a "professional" hairstylist was back when the split blonde on top brown underneath was in. The hairstylist put the bleach all over the top of my head, no foils, & then bunned it onto the top of my head & put a plastic cap over top. She wanted me to sit there for 45mins. After 5mins I felt the tingle like okay this must be normal. 7mins go by it starts to burn, I of course let her know she said it's fine. 9mins & I am shaking because it is burning so bad. She still waited to check on me. So at the 13min mark, yes I'm clock watching, I kinda raise my voice telling her something must be wrong! She finally takes it off to see, it's completely ice blonde now, but.... As she's rinsing my hair clumps are coming out. My boyfriend at the time walks into the salon to check on the progress & asks the hairstylist why my head was PINK. I ended up getting bleach chemical burn the size of a softball at the top of my head where she plopped the bun of bleached hair. Literally scarred me for life. Still had to pay her.... Took me 8 years to trust a hairstylist to touch my hair again. But even when I did, I ended up just going with a balayage so NO BLEACH TOUCHED MY SCALP. Thank goodness I didn't have a horror story to go along with the balayage besides the crappy cut she gave. Mind you, the first hairstylist was HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. 😳

Y'all it was my first time ever getting anything done to my hair. I didn't know until I had gotten home the severity. She had also given me over $100 worth in hair care like joiko shampoo & conditioner & some other things. I was so embarrassed 😭

Sometimes I see these models "befores" and I'm like "I mean yeah she's super pretty but how is she a model?" and then I remember that it's because our entire beauty standard as humans is to cover everything natural with makeup and photoshop and I'm like... "Oh yeah. It's because they're showing them as normal humans for once and everything I see in magazines and on TV is fake and that's why everyone hates themselves for not looking like models. Because no one looks like a model. Not even models look like models 🙃"
I think its sad how they all got a lighter skin tone than before. I mean light changes everything but thats hella photoshopped. Have you noticed that the models with darker skinshade were really light?? It made me sad bc they have such a beautiful tone why do they have to photoshop that🤦♀️ also, some girls with already light skin looked SICK with that pale skin omg almost like vampires 😭
@@ayse-gul5262 i jist commented about this. Their before pictures looked so good, they were glowing and beautiful and then the after snapshots they all have the same exact skin color. So bizarre to me. Also, you don't really get to see how the makeovers really looked.
@@Lizzypoohxo On the german version they show 2 hours footage LMAOOO And there you really get to see the models with their natural skin color.
they purposely make the before pictures look terrible and unedited so you think the after looks better in comparison even though its heavily photoshopped

I remember Erin. My favorite contestants this cycle were Amber( the Christian girl who dropped out) and Jennifer. Jennifer mostly because she was from here in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In terms of makeover, Erin truly did have the best cycle 13 makeover. My favorite Erin photo is when her hair was wrapped in that big scarf or hat and I think the photo was sepia . But Erin genuinely does have the best makeover for cycle 13.
I agree the light in the before is so funky, but the after lighting is bright and you can see way more face.

I know right!! Try being in Wales :( full lockdown again! This sucks! And only on christmas day are we allowed to form a bubble between yourself and another household, but that's it... for 1 goddamn day
@@littlemissgamergal2586 Tier 4 you can't mix with a household at all even Xmas day! It really really sucks, hopefully it will all turn out ok in the long run but for now we just have to try and get thru it :(
