Fixed my old and bodged around with Honda Nv400 thanks to you, with little data available on this bike, had to make a few educated guesses and a little tweaking is still needed.

Great Video presentation. what about cleaning out the jets. With the screwdriver impression on the jet stud, it can be also removed for thorough cleaning?

I check out most of your vids whenever I get a chance, mot appriciated and entertaining.
Speaking of rebuilds, im doing a rebuild/overhaul on an Xt600 1987 2kf, and just noticed a small gap where the conrod meets the crankshaft. I checked the manual and it states a freeplay of 0.25-0.75 mm, my seems to be after checking with a feeler about 0.55mm. Is this a sign of wear and bad things to come or is everything between the specified clearancelimit acceptable? Sort of like a brakepad wearing down.

If its in spec I really wouldn't be concerned UNLESS it was run on low oil.

Thanks Shane, much appreciated. As you can see I had already subscribed yesterday after watching this video. There are a lot of "youtubers" that provide how-to as well as informative videos. Although, not all of them will deliver information clearly and thoroughly, thus often leaving the viewer needing more information and/or more questions.(in my opinion)
While I watched this video, several questions and opinions came to my mind that you clearly addressed as I continued to watch!

If this port is clogged, how would it effect all your carbs systems? Only if you carb is using more fuel than this port can supply (if clogged) would it change anything. And even if you the carb/engine uses up more fuel than the port can deliver, it will probably effect the main jet/WOT operation only.

Dude!, I have a bike I cannot get a connecting rod for anywhere. I wonder if you might know of a cross reference to identify connecting rods that would be compatible with little or no modification for the bike I am restoring.
I may be able to locate. Lots of connections!

First off, thanks for liking How2Wrench's video. Kind of you. Secondly, We are in quite a demand in the shop and training center and there are only so many hours in a day and Shane just can't get to every request (300-400 a week now!) Income is the only way to pay the bills. Thirdly, I’m training under Shane and trying to learn as fast as I can but just don't know the answer to this one and don't want to lead you wrong. That’s a great question for Shane directly! We are just the social media team. Shane does answer questions when he get's back around to non members eventually so hang tight, FYI >>>> he does member ones daily!

He just returned from overseas training techs and his inbox is slammed with requests. He is scheduling time each day again to answer techline orders. He does not have the bandwidth to provide free email replies as his schedule is full with shop customers, training schedules, and one on ones.

You are the best guy on the internet, learned a lot from you. But you are wrong about removing debris using polish of grinding paste, you have to remove manually. If you a paste you will remove aluminium material as well as the debris. But keep up the videos, thanks.
Well thank you "kind of" lol...jk. We will have to disagree and my methods are proven and sound. I think you are thinking of something else though BECAUSE the seat is brass not aluminum. Also from experience, you have to "polish" forever to make the slightest change. I have a video coming out showing this process in detail. Stay tuned.

My experience is as an engineer, old school, remove the bulk of material and then polish. You are correct that care/time should be taken and that the surface in question is not critical.
I am quite new to bikes and having watched your video, I realise the importance of float chamber height, something missed by almost everyone else.
My bike is in Thailand where information is sparse and I will use much of your instruction to get my 1983 NV400 working properly. So the thank you is genuine, your method of instruction was very much like my own I had as an engineering apprentice, so it very much hits home.
I have had problems finding a company in the USA who can supply me with everything in need for my carbs. Jets, float chamber seats and valves, manifold rubbers, pet cock and slider springs. That way I can get everything shipped together to Portugal. Any ideas.
