    Even in a sad state of neglect, this is a beautiful place. Thank you for remembering those looking gone and forgotten. You're doing a great job!

    I love the late 1600s, and 1700s graves they give us so much information, and the inscriptions are so well done, again thanks Sue xxx

    Another wonderful video. I like that newer graves continue to have simple gravestones. The small white stones, covering this the plots, are so pretty. I'm fast becomming obsessed with your channel. We are watching history, often during oppressive times, revealing the strength of our ancestors.

      Wexford had its fair share of turbulent times, we had Norman's, Vikings, famine, 1798 rebellion etc full of devastation and very hard times can you believe the ages on headstones and what that person experienced 🇮🇪🍀❤️

    There was a lot of old ones in here.It’s strange in the old section how some of the early 1700s headstones are in better condition than the ones in the 1800+were actually more worn or attacked by the moss. It makes you wonder about what the craftsmen knew in those days that changed.I do think it’s a shame that they allowed the old section to get as poorly kept.But it’s quite common and a shame.Thank you Sue your such a Star.It was really hard work today on this adventure.But a lot of names were remembered ..Love n Light 🥰

      Isn't it very strange, you're right, I've seen headstones covered by ivy and when I clean them off the writing is like it was just etched out that very day, stay safe 🇮🇪🍀❤️

    Another wonderful video Sue!! I am really surprised how easily the headstones can be read, seeing as they are so old, that is amazing. It is sad that the community doesn't get together and try to clean the cemetery up a bit. This cemetery is very historical, I love it. Thank you for sharing, stay safe, and God Bless!!

    You work to hard. Two videos in one day. Stones are sinking and falling apart. My parents died, mother in "07 and dad in '17. Dad made it to 90. I remember talking with the funeral director about perpetual care. For a fee of course. Almost mandatory as the cemeteries are well taken care of. I am trying to figure it out. First your stones for the most part are older so they would fall apart. Second, is it up to the family to come and take care of the grave sites themselves? My brothers and I live in New Hampshire and Virginia. My parents are buried in New York. We could not get to take care of the graves on any regular basis. But I know they are. First is the flat stone so no problem for lawn mowers. One large monument, where they need a weedwhacker. I know I am harping. Excuse me if you will, just now getting used to the cultural difference. Good job! Love your site.

      @SerenitySueGraveyards  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks Lee, may your parents rest in peace, I suppose most family's now don't even realise they have ancestors graves in those grave yards, I know our newer cemeteries and graveyards are kept very tidy and cared for here but each grave are cared for by family and the areas around maintained by local county council.
