      Sorry no. The ILM rendered spaceships wouldn't look nearly as realistic as a big model. You're contradicting yourselves. There are other videos in which you stated that even the best CG still doesn't come close to the real thing. Also with a model you don't have to rerender the whole scene in case you change your mind. You just need to shoot it from another angle. It's infinitely reusable. Nothing beats the real thing in terms of texture. And even if it was possible why would you? A model can be reused thousands of times as I already said.

      *That vortex when the TIE fighters pass through the fireballs might be inaccurate.* The vortex in the scene is the same created by airplanes which have two horizontal surfaces, separated by fuselage. The TIE fighters have two vertical planes, separated by pylons and a sphere. If the rendering is following physical laws, shouldn't the vortex these shapes? Or is it simply just trying to imitate what the ILM crew saw in another movie?

    So this is in reference to the question, "When will we get to the point where we hire C List actors and stamp A list faces on them." I think it could happen, but here is why I don't think it will. Back in the 1980s while everyone's favorite time traveling trilogy, Back To the Future, was hitting the theatres; something fishy was going on behind the scenes. As we all know, Cripsen Glover played George McFly in the first movie, but did you know that he didn't play George in the following movies? There was a contract dispute between production and Glover, so he separated himself from the series. Since the production had all of the prosthetics and makeup from the first movie, they actually found another actor and stamped those same prosthetics on him to get an old George McFly. This led to some HUGE lawsuits and now there is language within SAG contracts that says you cannot use prosthetics of another actor to portray the same character using a different actor. So with the growing tech that is DeepFakes, I would think this would fall under the same guidelines. For instance, let's say I want to make my own Top Gun movie. I grab my friend that looks (and is short enough lol) to play Tom Cruise and I slap a DeepFake on him, I'm effectively taking Tom Cruises's likeness and stamping it on someone else without his permission. What does everyone else think?

    Fun fact: Nobody in Star Wars ever refers to the energy shots as "lasers". They are blasters, basically the same type of pure energy/plasma that the light sabers are made of, and that's why they travel at visible speeds. They are not light, they emit light.

      The gunner seats on the side of the clone transports do shoot in a way that looks like visible-spectrum lasers. Just a fraction of a second of a continuous beam that instantly connects with it's target, and then the gunner stops shooting to fix his aim or wait for the turret to cool down or something.

      @TheDahaka1 Před 3 lety

      @@Thalanox Oh, yeah, those are clearly focused beams of energy that work a lot like lasers, but I was talking about all of the short-line shots that everyone shoots. Those are never referred to as lasers, but blasters.

      I agree with this. In the stuntman reacts videos he's like 'you know what my fave xmas movie is?' and he proceeds to talk about Jingle All the Way and National Lampoons and then they show the clips and he reacts to them as if he is watching them for the first time. "Is there more santa fight scenes??" I don't even think he watches anything any more, lol.
