Everything was closed here for about 3 days & a lot of people without electricity. I think every state was having weird weather. First it was tornado watches & then winter storm watches & warnings & bitter cold! Those are cute what you’re making! TFS! 🥰

Hi Melina! I lived in SE Louisiana for 6 years. I returned to NE Cal. just in time for one of THOSE winters. We had an entire week where the high for the entire week was 8F degrees! I was SOoooo not prepared for that kind of cold! Hope it warms up for you REAL soon! It's rough when you're not used to it! HUGZ & PRAYERS, Y'alls!

Great ideas in this video. Thanks for sharing and I hope that your ice situation has melted. That sounds awful! We've had about 2 1/2 feet of snow here in northern MI, in the last week. But snow can be moved, ice can't. I'm glad that your power has stayed on! If you're on a well, like we are, no power means no water, which means to flushing. Oh dear, that is never fun. We always used to fill the bathtub so we'd have water to flush.
We had a power outage a few years back and my granddaughter and I made Romen noodles on a fire in the fire pit.

I absolutely love watching you and your mother's videos. Very talented, beautiful, warm and learning friendly. Thank you so much. Now on to the weather...my heart goes out to you. Iowa is prepared however it has been crazy here also. We've had sometimes 3 warnings in one day. The other night it was -47 wind-chill. News said this weather only happens once or twice in a decade. I saw a post the other day "if you're in Iowa - it's closed. It's all closed. Everything is closed. Go back to bed". Stay safe, warm and happy cooking. Oh and thanks for the heads up on the BBQ sauce id never heard of it. Can't wait to try it!!!

Your dinners sound so wonderful I am so glad you all are prepared. I remember the ice storms in Wisconsin growing up. They are horrible and scary.
So glad you guys take care of each other. We were at -48 below with the windchill and as high as -55 below in some areas.
Stay warm ❤ and enjoy the extra family time. Sometimes I know God allows the weather to slow our daily life down. You can change the path of a major river by pebbles over time.
My best friends grandson is autistic and instead of being upset hes been sleeping more and very calm too. I truly believe God is cradling them thru all this nasty weather 🙏 ❤😊

It is bad here in East Tennessee I live near the North Carolina line and my husband and son in law both push snow they been working for days.

ha ha I make videos every week. The only week I've missed lately was Christmas week. I will never be one to make a video everyday. I have too much "life" and family to take care of outside of YT for that. ha ha
I grew up in Missoula, Montana. Then I moved to Texas to teach. I had more days with schools closed for cold weather/ice/snow in the 9 years I taught in Texas (3 years on the Texas/Mexico border and 6 years in Houston), than I did growing up in Missoula, Montana, preschool through college. Schools closed once when I was in second grade because it was 80 below with the wind chill factor. I had never heard the term wind chill factor, so I was going around telling people it was 80 degrees below zero at the windshield factory. I didn't know where the windshield factory was, but I knew that was cold. Then schools closed one day when I was in high school due to black ice. Two snow days in 17 years of school. I completely understand how different it is when you don't have the infrastructure to deal with the snow/ice. I hope things thaw out for you soon!! I ordered dinner via DoorDash tonight because I didn't want to go out in the 20 degree weather. It's supposed to get up to 40 on Saturday, so I'm looking forward to that!

I think it actually got up to 38° today so yay! Finally above freezing. But tomorrow’s high is 29° with a low of 9° 🙀 Our high Saturday is supposedly going to be 19° It’s insane for Alabama weather, for sure. I can’t remember this long of a cold snap here.

We have a creek beside our house, starting with the -45 degree weather our creek froze and went out of it's banks and headed for our house foundation! Did you know water flows uphill in freezing weather? It's creepy and crazy! I have pictures that still blow my mind when I look at them. A hill of ice! Never heard of white bbq sauce. Got a recipe?
I just dump all the ingredients and taste…add more of something if needed. Here’s a rough guess of how much of each ingredient.
2 cups mayo
6-8 tablespoons white vinegar
4-5 tablespoons sugar or sugar substitute
2 tablespoons black pepper
1/2 tablespoon salt
Whisk together and taste. It should be tangy, tart with a hint of sweetness and a pepper bite at the end. Add a little more vinegar if too sweet or too thick. It should be the consistency of other red BBQ sauces. If it’s way too tart add a little more sugar. We love it on pork and chicken here Alabama.
