    The Vast Majority of Perpetrators Will Not Go to Jail or Prison- the right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty - this means it's the prosecution who must prove you're guilty.... it's almost impossible to prove a rape case ...A fundamental principle behind the right to a fair trial is that every person should be presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Many people who are accused of these crimes will ultimately be found innocent regardless. If it cannot be proved without a doubt that a defendant in a criminal case is guilty, then that person should not be convicted.

      Good! Otherwise everyone would be in custody when they are innocent. Look up the Birmingham six for example. Don’t disgrace yourself. Idiotic what you don’t know is the girl was a complete slapper and presumed innocent. Took eight weeks of legal argument to exclude her previous form.

      Have you ever been raped Adam? Who are you to determine how a person should react to that trauma? God forbid it happens to any woman close to you as she’ll get no support from you. Fortunately, I have a real man at my side supporting me through this who is disgusted at the perpetuation of rape myths by ignorant asshats like yourself. And you’ll find very soon that you’ll be in the ignorant minority as we begin to get more support for women who are victims of the most vile abuse of power and of their bodies.

      Niall Byrne Just because there isn’t enough evidence to prosecute doesnt mean she’s falsely accusing. NI has a prosecution rate of 2.8% and i believe the false rape accusations is 4% so therefore that means that 96% are true accusations and 2.8% of rapists are punished for it. I’m not saying she’s not lying, I’m saying imagine how the other 93.2% of rape victims feel when their abuser isn’t prosecuted and then on top of that they could face charges accusations them of lying?

This man is meant to get old to see what he has really done with his life. g-d, willing this bastard gets old with many daughters to look out for.

      Good. He shouldn’t have been so careless with someone else’s life. Then he wouldn’t be in the position he finds himself in now. As the ‘man’ himself said (I use the term loosely), his behaviour fell below the standard of what was expected of him. He’s a shite role model (well, he’s not a role model) and he made his bed (oh the irony) so he can lie in it - cos he’ll have plenty if time now that he’s a disgraced sportsman. He’ll certainly have enough time now to reflect on whether it was worth it.

    Paddy Jackson et al. was found unanimously innocent yet is treated as guilty. Nice to see balance in this feminist rantfest.

    • @ScotVenus
      @ScotVenus Před 2 lety +2

      Paddy Jackson et al. may well have been found Not Guilty. That does not translate as “innocent”. What it means is that the prosecution could not prove “beyond reasonable doubt” that they were guilty which is why the jury acquitted them. But rape is sadly the perfect crime. It is extremely difficult to prove lack of consent. As a rape victim, it is the reason I did not give any more than an “intelligence statement” to the police, where I withheld certain details about his identity so that they could not pursue it and put me through the shit show that that poor girl went through! My statement (and the forensic kit I provided) was only to serve as a safeguard to other victims as corroboration is the key to a successful conviction. Paddy Jackson’s victim did not have corroboration, and that was what failed her and my heart breaks for her. For me, I received a call 13 months later to say he had done it again. I had provided enough details and dna for them to connect the crimes. And now I’m awaiting a high court trial where hopefully justice will be served. Sadly, we live in a society where the law states that a man must have at least 2 rape victims who come forward before he can expect to be (possibly!) found guilty.

      Courts cannot control people's individual opinions in their own mind based on the evidence they saw. That's always been the case. Plenty of people are aquitted of things when many still consider them guilty. I served on a jury in the high court in Glasgow where the guy got off and we all knew he was guilty! They just didn't prove it effectively. We still all walked away believing he did it. Same craic here in my opinion
