- Today I would like to share with you some very unique and super colorful aquarium fish. Killifish are rare to come by due to lack of breeders and have a huge market for potential breeders. They are gorgeous fish that are great for all types of aquariums, even community tanks. I could talk about killies forever but for now here are 28 types I picked up from the Killifish Karnival.

Nice video! I picked up two pairs of nothobranchius foerschi at killicarnival and they've been laying eggs like crazy.

I did a little unboxing video to show off my new Killis. They are doing well despite a couple errors I have made. One error is mentioned in the video. In addition to this I also forgot to plug their heater back in and the water dropped all the way down to 55 F since they were in the garage. Back up to about 72 this morning and thankfully still looking good. Tough little fish here. I promise I'll start treating them better.

What is your take on mixing different killis In a community tank
I live in Las Vegas and have a 1000-gallon pond in my yard. I went to a nursery that sells plants for ponds and a decent sized tub with plants was also teaming with Bluefin Killifish. They didn't know how the fish got there but suspected the plants had eggs already attached. They were nice enough to scope out 25 of these fish and give them to me at no charge! They are thriving in my pond and even hatching fry which is pretty exciting! I have baby Bluefin Killifish swimming in and out of the plants. My question to you or anyone out there is: Will my Killifish survive the cold Las Vegas winter? the temps in LV during Dec-Feb can get as low as 50 degrees and 36 degrees over night. I would hate to lose these little guys as I have become very attached to them!
They can survive lower temps but make sure there’s not an air line pumping cold air in or a filter pushing cold water. They come from FL and some days get real cold but as long as it’s not for weeks you should be fine. Having the depth helps. Substrate can hold heat. If you really want to feel safe look at my all year round heated pond systems I made.

Hey, I'm looking to hatch some killifish of my own. Do you know a place online that I could buy eggs from?
I have a couple of anual killifish like yours at 4:00 but I can’t breed them what can I do
Peat moss or spawning mop and softer acidic water with a good diet.
Very pretty. I love Killis but have never owned them. It appears most die within a few months. If you keep killis, how do you deal with that because that is too quick.
Most the killies that I shown will actually live for a couple years kind of like bettas

And are so peaceful together.

Unfortunately Amazon doesn’t have them. They are hard to find since the company name who made mine is called Aquatic Habitat so the google doesn’t know what to look for and they don’t usually sell to the public but I did find this pentairaes.com/10-l-tank-parts.html

And ekondo tit is volcanum not splendopleure..
My Aphyosemion ogoense are in an 2meter tank and they do speed up in that tank realy great. Fast swimmer should have space to run.

The containers are around 2 liters and they breed in them
Got my order from u yesterday. Is it harmful for riccia to fall apart??
Its normal due to the way and structure of the plant. If your riccia is getting destroyed and pushed around hard by a filter or pump then it could be a problem.
@@LRBaquatics Yep I will have to figure out something different with my filtration and flow.
Michael Sorge put a sponge filter over the intake inlet so out won't clog it up and eat all your plants...had the same problem with subwassertang moss

Lifespan?? For the past week I've been trying to find out lifespans on all the
killies you have on your website. It seems there's very little info on each specific breed. Or at least I can't find it. I know there's annuals, semi-annuals and non-annuals, any chance you could put which type each is on your website?
Over 45 years ago I wanted to try Killies but nobody knew anything about them.
Hell, it's even hard to find good accurate pictures of many of these.
Videos like this are greatly appreciated. Actually wish it was much longer.
Im pretty sure all the ones I got are non annual and can live 2-3 yrs or so. Besides the Simpson and Opathl ones Im not sure on those. Aphysemion and Fundolopanchax types tend to live quite awhile.

Thanks! Most of these are non annuals and can live for years but would always be nice to length their lifespan more.

Even some of the annual species can live quite a bit longer in home Aquariums.

I get them everyone once and awhile from the aka events but not actively breeding them
All those Killies and not a single Northo to be seen.
I think there were under 10 notho pairs at the event and I walked away 2 of them.

Beautiful fish but how do they behave in an aquarium as p[[psed to those small containers you have them in? Also....Please cut the awful music as that makes it almost unbearable watching the fish.
