Was there a reason you selected the group that you isolated in a separate tank? What do you do with the fry when they hatch out? How long until the hatch out typically?
How much aggression do you see from the males towards females? Also, do you loose many females in pair only tanks? trying to figure out if i want to do pairs or trios to maximize egg production and tank space.

What's your water temp when you have them breeding?
Would growing some water lettuce work? Would it act as a natrual spawning mop
I would assume a large amount of water lettuce would work for this

They actually been breeding. So now I have 4 new additions. I left the mop alone.

I just selected the largest fish. Usually hatch out in 2 weeks.
Why do you float the mop? I leave mine on the floor. Lokking good!!
Either works, this particular group lays most of their eggs on the top of the mop

I'm sure you could, I haven't tried it that way yet

Usually not, sometimes I'll top it off if a lot of the water evaporated
