    What's your water temp when you have them breeding?

  • @gollumtheartisticnewt1028

    Would growing some water lettuce work? Would it act as a natrual spawning mop

    Helpful video! Question: why use methylene blue? What is its function with the eggs?

    • @fishboy1415
      @fishboy1415  Před 3 lety

    I recently just pick up a pair. They are in my nano aquarium that has large monte carlo and water lettuce. Should I leave them in there and see if they spawn or put them in a 75 gallon I'm setting up for them now?

    Do you know the full name of the gardneri fish? Nsukka / Makurdi / Jos Plateau?

    You don’t need to incubate out of water? Is this a different type that doesn’t require a “dry season”?

    • @fishboy1415
      @fishboy1415  Před 4 lety +1

      Yes, you could do either with this species

    • @jamesblankenship4292

      Fish Boy I’m assuming temp does not play a factor?

    • @fishboy1415
      @fishboy1415  Před 4 lety +1

      @@jamesblankenship4292 it does, usually the warmer the faster they hatch. The room is heated so they usually sit around 76 degrees

    Was there a reason you selected the group that you isolated in a separate tank? What do you do with the fry when they hatch out? How long until the hatch out typically?

    • @fishboy1415
      @fishboy1415  Před 3 lety +1

      I just selected the largest fish. Usually hatch out in 2 weeks.

  • @drockingfish

    Why do you float the mop? I leave mine on the floor. Lokking good!!

    • @fishboy1415
      @fishboy1415  Před 4 lety

      Either works, this particular group lays most of their eggs on the top of the mop

    How much aggression do you see from the males towards females? Also, do you loose many females in pair only tanks? trying to figure out if i want to do pairs or trios to maximize egg production and tank space.

    • @fishboy1415
      @fishboy1415  Před 3 lety

      I don't really see much aggression between males and females

  • @btam13
    @btam13 Před 3 lety

    • @fishboy1415
      @fishboy1415  Před 3 lety

      I'm sure you could, I haven't tried it that way yet

  • @christophercarlotabinas3999

    • @fishboy1415
