Frances, your cinematography is awesome - you could be making movies, not just vlogs. I hope you get that opportunity one day.
I'm not sure I'd want to, to be honest !
It's either Very Hard Work or a natural gift. Knowledge of gear is i think part of it also. I tend to believe Francis has a good mix of all .
Did I just hear you let slip, that Daisy is your girlfriend??? 🥰 👏👏
What happened to thingy??!!
Doughnuts, coffee, pizza ... you've unlocked all essential food groups in one episode. 🍩☕🍕
5:34 - "eventually new bikes are not going to be manufactured. i`m calling it 3 years." that was right vision
Support your LBS. And a big “thanks” to you Francis for the awesome vlog reminding us of that.
I love seeing New York City in a raw form. I used to live in The Bronx. Haven't been there in a while so thanks for this video it was nice to see
Those Bikes are Amazing..Spectacular. ......So Very Cool......thanks.
thumbs up for braving the winter in NYC bro
Nice one...glad you went. I told you they were amazing places
Another great episode.
You visit New York during December and Death Valley in June. Somehow that’s backwards! Okay! Stay warm!
Like, this is like, one of the like, best vlogs that like, I have seen in a while and so like, I just had to like, give it a like.
I edited out at least 50% of the likes
Lmao
My subliminal messaging worked!
Your NYC series has been among your best. Daisy has made you a nicer person....Looks like youall have fun.
What a great looking bike shop, I'd kill for those high ceilings in mine.
Enjoying the NY vlogs francis
Francis, you've made it in an issue of Bicycling magazine here in SA🇿🇦
Woop! Great magazine
Great introduction B roll!
Terrific vlog!
That's my fav bikeshop! Jonathan you gonna get an ambassador Swork bruh?! ;)
Wow I have been watching your films for quite a while now.. checking out how people are riding back home in the UK.. sort of happy surprised to see you having donuts outside Peter Pan.. round the cnr from my house.. and then watched your visit to the Market.. ( that hill you were wondering about is called The Alpine Approach..) BTW thats not THE New York hill... you only need to go a few more miles and we have plenty of lumpy stuff for you to ride.. Happy to send you some GPX files.. Come back when it's a little bit warmer...
The slow-mo edit is cool as &you got pizza I'm happy
Parlee and Seven, both from Massachusetts!
Maglia Rosa is another cool shop in Brooklyn, plus they serve coffee.
From the title it seemed this vid would be about multiple shops, but the length said different. More shop please!
Hey Francis, any music playlist suggestions while climbing a mountain?
I can not get enough of Daisy's smile.
The small off the beaten track bike shops always have the best gems hanging around the shop . Even better that you have a girlfriend that has the same expensive taste you have , Daisy is the best . As I watch these series of vids I cant help but hear Sting singing stranger in New York ..
got my Parlee fitted at this shop
Always love your intro/outro music.. if you get it from somewhere can you post the link? Would love to hear the whole cuts!
It's all from Soundstripe !
Can't believe you guys have been riding around NYC with Jake Peralta...
Last time I went new York Brooklyn roasting company was so good I bought 2 tins of coffee to bring back to the UK! So jelous right now 😭
Wow I saw vidéos of that Brooklyn Bridge bike path in the summer time and a guy had a heck of a time using it as people paid no attention and walked in the path but they got outa of way when he blasted them with his loud bull horn...and scared the living sh-t outa them 😄😄
Francis crossed the Manhattan Bridge. Which has a dedicated bike path.
@@eloyanzola thanks
I have only one bike shop near me , and even then half of it is for skaters .
Who doesn't like another cool bikeshop, some weird glasses and classic Pink Floyd to finish the video !
Just ordered a new bike this morning with rim brakes
Redbeard is awesome
So glad you didn't film how many beers and baubles were featured at the end of that night...!
I just love your hate for comic sans ahahahah
That purple bike with the Reynolds tubing :P~~~
JIZZ.
Columbus>Reynolds
It’s been 3 years & while rim breaks are on their way out you can still get new rim break bikes
The only downside with boutique bike shops is many of them have boutique prices for tubes and misc gear. It's great that bike stores can still exist, by targeting us crazy spenders, but it pains me to have to pull out the black card to buy tires that cost me pizza money to buy online. There was an effort to get bike shops to pool their buying power to get pricing that would allow them to compete with online sellers, but for some reason the movement never got off the ground.
It would be nice if distributors could give independent shops better margins... But would this work? They'd have to prove that they weren't just flogging the stuff online.
@@Cade_Media The problem is that distributors work on sales volume and shops don't have enough volume to quality for the best pricing tiers. In order to compete with Wiggle, Colorado Cyclist, etcetera (online vendors) there was a movement to create a shared inventory system for bike shops in the US, where individual shops could transfer inventory between each other and some centralized warehouses. I don't know the whole story of why this fell apart, but from my personal experience of telling bike shops about it and helping them sign up, a major factor was bike shops not talking to one another or even knowing a whole lot about how the backend of their business worked. Companies, like Specialized, have been very successful because they simplified back-end inventory and pricing for shops (in exchange for exclusive carry deals). Don't get me wrong, I love boutique shops, my favorite is just a beer and wine shop with a fitting center and a couple demo bikes. However, for people who are looking to buy their first bike or don't have $6-20k to spend, the options between Walmart and Boutique are getting very scant.
You think my watch will be safe on that lamp post bill.
if hermione granger and ron weasley had a kid and that kid grew up to like bikes and not magic, daisy would fit the bill.
WHAT IS THAT PURPLE BIKE ??
Wow, that bike shop Francis! As you said total bike porn! Ha ha ha.
Man you guys should hook up with John Joseph! He would be cool on the vlogs! Look him up on Instagram bro! Or Twitter he has a punk band called the cro mags
Bizarre how everything in NY is served in disposable cutlery. That used to drive me mad.
Yep, makes me rage.
The building is bent because of the alien attack... have you not seen the Avengers Documentary....?
Hahaha!
Warning with American doughnuts, double check what oil they fry it to make sure it’s vegan
First once again
Skills
its 2020 and trek stopped making rim brakes...........
NYC is a complete shlthole.. on so many levels. You guys brought a touch of class to it.
Last
You're on a roll
great vision on the rim brakes, probably not far off now
He was dead right about not being able to buy rim brake bikes in 3 years time, GOOD CALL! 👍
I love the stopping power of disc brakes, but until we start seeing a lot of teams within the UCI use them let's hold off on making predictions about the death of rim brakes. Pro cycling dictates almost everything these bike manufacturers do. Since changing a wheel with disc brakes takes longer, I'm not sure teams are going to be rushing to the alter on this one. Every second counts. Then again, I could be talking out of my ass. 😛
I've yet to try out smaller discs on a road bike... My bike next year will have them on and I'm keen to see what it's like!
But Deluxe has No 22 bikes. Just sayin’
Lucky I get my fair dose of no22 in London!
