I never expected a smaller modding channel like this one to actually obliterate all other modding channels. My game can handle so much more, load faster, and I have more badass mods thanks to this channel. I am so glad I came across it.

I would also recommend the Some Assembly Required mod, which makes power armor very rare but once you find one you become a literal tank.

They should fix it up and replace any power amrour that you would find normally with raider amrour since we'll it makes sense actually good amrour would of been taken or destroyed and you would most likely only find good power amrour in a area where no one has gone like the glowing sea Prescott site
That mod is fantastic, but it doesn't remove standing PA sets from DLC's. And Far Harbor has a very easy to find T51 set of power armor just north of uncle kents place. And the mod already puts most advanced armor pieces in hard to find locations, or one or two in various states of condition can be found along side raider power armor and possibly a few other area's. If you don't have the DLC's then try out either the glowing sea or the Atom Cat's garage. Sagus Iron work's also has a T45 piece that the raider leader their wears alongside a near full set of raider power armor.
The power armor is really underwhelming in the games mechanically compared to the lore. these things supposedly went up against HOVER TANKS and won!

@@adamxei9073 given in fo1 seems like you dont need to hit it with much to actually penetrated the armor, yeah. They are heavy weapon stations for infantry, a cost benefit solution for actual tanks being too costly to manufacture

I think we have a misunderstanding here lmao. They are meant to solve the issue of actual heavy combat vehicles being too costly...cause apparently making a giant suit of automated armor for infantry squads is cheaper
There's a mod that was released really early when the game came out I've always been a fan of called "Better Power Armor - A Power Armor Overhaul". It makes it so that all damage you take deals damage to the armor piece that was hit instead of your character but eventually breaks and need to be repaired. The only down side to it is it works for all power armor even npc's use, so you need to get creative early on if you face someone in even a raider set. Like hitting the fusion core or pickpocketing the core from the armor. It also makes you immune to radiation as long as you're in it which I also like.

That’s the mod I’m actually using right now, it’s the best around, doesn’t make you too tanky but also doesn’t leave you a marshmallow
Should pair it with the handmade anti-material rifle mod. (It’s on Xbox, too.) in the ‘lore’ it was created by the gunners to combat the brotherhood of steel. It’s an awesome mod, and is great for immersion.
Realistically you should be capable of killing any regular human or ghoul inside of a suit of power armour, because you’re inside a half ton suit of steel. Just the weight and speed behind a punch would pulverize bone.

I'd love to see Power Armor mods that add integrated weapons. Like shoulder-mounted rocket launchers, wrist-mounted laser/plasma cannons, etc

I distinctly remember ages ago, when Fallout 4 launched, there was a mod that added AT-ST walking sounds to Power Armor. It was one of my favorite mods of all time. Damned shame it got taken down.
I can't believe no one ever made a mod that made power armor have Robocop sound effects.
A Mod close to that still exists.
It gives hydraulic sounds and more "heavy" steps the Power Armor.
I would enjoy heavy armor way more in games if they actually had the restricted view. It's always bugged me that power armor and gas masks didn't restrict one's view in general anyways but it's also one of the very real downsides to better protection throughout history.
Someone doesn't understand the concept of HUDs or advancements in the field of ergonomics.The whole idea behind power armor is that it effectively increases, well, you. Why, aside from the most dogshit variants, would it have helmets that limit your field of vision. If anything, the better armors should actually INCREASE how well you can see.
@@VunderGuy I've done a lot of shooting professionally in my life with various types and helmets, optics, gas masks, and night vision/thermals/etc. I'm not saying it should block half the screen it but it's a major disconnect for most people how losing a small amount of your field of view can affect your awareness so much. The only way to feasibly pull that off is if the entire inside of the helmet's facemask was a flat screen tv or if we had it plugged in directly to our brain to feed in extra camera angles. It's very clear from the cut of power armors helmets in game that it restricts the natural line of sight for someone's eyes. There is an argument for the extra censors being connected to your pipboy or something to increase view but that's not reflected in lore or design of the armor. Especially with the technology pathway they went down in game. There is an argument for it increasing your perception with a sort of radar or thermal option that would highlight and track other life forms around you but the power armor helmets in game would absolutely decrease your field of view with the naked eye.

@@gibraltar2843 It is not stated anywhere in the games that T45 - 60 have any sort of external cameras; neither do XO1, XO2, XO3, Hellfire And Advanced Power Armor as far as we are told.
Though, If I'm being pedantic, which I will be. It is possible that XO1 has some sort of camera, or at least an equivalent due to the way it's lights work in FO4; but we know next to nothing about the light systems on the more advanced models from the older games like FO3 and FO2
A mod that was missing there was Better Power Armor, this mod basically turns you into a battle tank, you don't lose HP using Power Armor, only the piece is damaged, and after broken then you can lose life at that point the piece was destroyed, I mean, it's the most logical, for me that's what Power armor should be.This all applies to npcs using Power Armor too, meaning fighting them will be much more difficult or even impossible if you don't have the right weapons and use strategy
Simply too overpowered tbh, and doesnt seem realistic either. I get that a .38 pistol caliber wouldnt cause even a bruise to someone in power armor, but a direct rocket hit or .50 bmg should be able to deal considerable damage even if the armor pieces are at full health

@@WeAreInYourWallit would simply be too much concussive damage if you got shot with a 50 or rocket launcher to go on. You get shot even wearing something that can not get penetrated by it and you’re still flying backwards

I wish there was a mod to add power armor weapons. stuff like shoulder cannons or a back mounted swing out artillery. Itd just be cool for power armor to essentially pose as mobile assault platforms. Its essentially supposed to be if the cold war never ended right? So it'd make sense we'd design power armor to fight in theatres of war instead of small group tactics. At least some of them.
There's a companion mod called wintermute, providing synths that use the automotron AI framework and voices. They can be ordered to enter and stay in power armor; I was able to one to use T-60 with the sentry bot voice.
the jetpack being that fast kinda makes sense, could also turn it into some sort of exhaust (like with terran marines in starcraft 2 intro ) when really fuckin fast like spartans in halo lore, except heavier, don't even need tiring yourself out with melee just charge the buggers. basically nitro but with legs with wider, faster and stronger strides
they forgot to give power armor with powerfists tho, you can mod it with rusty, tesla etc but it's just not the same without the pneumatic gauntlets that are specific to power armors

@@andrini4455 Massive quest mod that adds the Enclave as a joinable faction that you can beat the game with and it has a lore explanation of where they have been at. It should release around the summer of 2022, hopefully America rising 2.0 (another enclave mod similar to this) will release around then as well.
I'm not 100% sure, but i think the mod you are referring to is called "America Rising" and it also has a sequel, which i have done a full playthrough of.
The Game Configuration Menu also has a lot of settings specific to the power armor. How durable is it (how fast / slow before the armor breaks), how much AP drain does the jet pack take, how much fusion core drain do various actions take (power attack, sprinting, walking, etc), etc. It is not a "one stop shop" but certainly worth taking a look at.

My current character rarely uses power armor, but I'm gonna install these asap.
I had hoped that F4 power armor system would give us the sensation of making and upgrading your own suit feel like a cathartic accomplishment for rewarding exploration and effort. In much the same way as servicing and refurbishing an old car to almost top condition. It kinda just fell flat in the final result.

I would love to see a heavy weapon mod that makes it a requirement to be using power armor in order to use them effectively. Mods like Machine Gun Rebirth adds in some beautiful heavy weapons however it is very unrealistic to see somebody walk around carrying them on foot vs walking around carrying them in power armor.

How do people make their own sets of power armor? I really want to make a heavily industrial/dieselpunk themed set to go with the flamer but there no tutorials or anything ANYWHERE as to how to make or implement a custom set.

Head Cannon to explain the more carry weight outside of power armor. Your inventory is on your person. Sure there is room within power armor but not a lot. Due to this carry weight is reduced. Id like to see a heavy weight carrying mod that gives power armor more carry weight with the visual explanation as to why there is more

Hey, I was wondering if you knew of any mods similar to the one you mentioned here, 2:31 on bethnet/xbox, I’ve looked all over the internet and the mod page but can’t find one that puts a frame like that to the hud when wearing power armor.
All the power armor hud mods of which there are very little on xbox are ones that change it to be more like the normal hud which is sort of the exact opposite of what I want.
Im probably really late on this but the only one I've found that's remotely similar is PowerArmorHud-NoTransparency by hellstorm102. It doesn't have the visor but it makes it where your pa hud isn't see-through

I wish there was a mod that changes the way power armor falls apart, such as the power armor becoming more weaker the more pieces fall off instead of the whole thing coming right off.

Here's an interesting balance idea. Get the HUD mod to limit your visibility, then craft your own Power Armor pieces using the Legendary Modification mod which lets you craft certain items to hold Legendary Effects. Set the Legendary Effect as Almost Unbreakable, and then apply something like Titanium Plating. Now you're a tank that can't see anything unless you turn and stare directly at it. Situational awareness goes down, but your armor will keep you alive long enough to find whatever's shooting at you. Also, if you're concerned about cheating with Legendary Modification, don't worry. Even the version that lets you add, remove, and replace Legendary Effects costs an arm and a leg worth of resources, like 14 units of Gold and Silver, along with like 7 other resources, PER EFFECT APPLIED. It even costs that same amount of resources to REMOVE the effect it has on it, which you might want to do if you need other resources that a gun or piece of armor can offer, but it has a Legendary Effect that you don't want. It still makes the Legendary Effects feel super powerful, but now you have more control over what gear has which Effects, albeit for a steep price.
After the Fallout show it makes sense for the jetpack, though i wish there was a mod for the flames to appear on the arms.
I know this video is over two years old, but as a former tester, can I recommend Worsin's Immersive Power Armor Garage (WIPAG)? It does beautiful things, and has been massively updated even since I last installed it (I stopped testing because my FO4 install got borked pretty bad and it's just too much labor to fix it). Tons of beautiful skins, thermal and night vision helmets, advanced power armor crafting along different paths with different specializations, all accomplished through bespoke in-game customization stations. And that's just what it had a few years ago before the big updates, I don't even know what all it has now. It really is the one stop shop, ultimate FO4 Power Armor mod, IMO.

A recommendation for the autopilot power armor mod, they should be able to take commands, like telling it to attack enemies, or even.. telling it to guard an area.
Also, if it hasn’t been added yet, the voice functionality could come from installing those modules that give it the autopilot function.
Could pair it with a mod mentioned previously, like… how it’ll “talk” when entering, exiting, and other things. Pair it with that mod, and add a line like “initializing”, then it’ll turn on, with its own voice.
Could give it’s own voice from something like… a security bot, or whatever those bots that explode once you kill them, that have the fusion core.
Could also have AI-acted/AI-inspired recordings for voicelines, for both mods mentioned previously.

My thoughts on the Immersive Power Armor HUD: The T-45/T-60 visor works because that's (very likely) how your view would look if you wore it in real life.
The BPM counter is the star of the first few seconds. Flying around with a power armor and shooting with a heavy weapon at deathclaws: 60BPM, totally chill.

I've always wondered if there were some power armor mods that, instead of removing the power armor piece when it breaks, it's not removed but changed with a "broken power armor" skin. I know it's very specific, but i think i would be nice.
