To be fair about the T-60 armor; there is a terminal found that states that the BoS have been producing them for at least a year
where's the terminal?
I've never found that terminal but I always figured that most of the t-60s were over seas fighting in wars so the brother hood couldn't get any then they found one or two and started making them
@@EveryoneElseIsWeirdImNormal I would have like the T-60 a little better had Bethesda stuck to the pre-established lore of the T-51 being the pinnacle of power armor design before the world wide nuking. I would have made it so that the T-60 was a stop gap design when it found out the T-51 was too costly and difficult to mass produce and maintain in enough numbers for frontline forces so they decided to fall back to obsolete T-45 power armour and heavily modernizing the older power armour make incorporating some of the advances that were made with the T-51 but available in a chassis that was familiar to military mechanics and factory workers.
@@RocketHarry865 I think it would have been better if near the end of the war generals held a meeting and basically said "look we got T-51 so let's put more armour on top and make it look like t-45 so that stupid people will think that this here t-60 is actually t-45

T-60 isn't rare among the Brotherhood because they can manufacture it, so it makes sense all of them have it.
icefrout i can understand how this is misunderstood because they really did a number on the lore.. but yes it isn’t that rare and the brotherhood IS manufacturing/ experimenting with T60 armor and other types
People always think that because something is more powerful it’s automatically much less common. May I use the example of nuclear weapons to debunk this?

T-60 itself was rare. It stopped being rare when the brotherhood learned how to make it though even then it's still an uncommon type of power armor. But yeah among the brotherhood it isnt rare.
icefrout hold on a second. I thought the brotherhood couldn’t make T-60. I thought they just raided the west tek factories for a large batch before the war started. Do they really have the heavy industry necessary to manufacture power armor?
Is there a mod that prevents dead enemies from ragdolling if they die while in power armor. Be cool if the armor just stopped instead of becoming weightless and flopping around everywhere.

There are a couple mods available that change ragdoll death physics too be far more realistic overall. i.e, dropping like a sack of potatoes upon death, instead of getting launched 15 feet backwards.

But after you recover enclave you will change side to enclave that have plastic surgery battery armor

Dance and his team being in the Commonwealth before the Prydwin is about the most realistic plot in the game. The BOS is a military. Militaries always send smaller recon units ahead to establish a foothold.
Space Marine power armor mod for the BoS, so that the light of the emperor reaches the commonwealth.

If I'm not mistaken, T-60 shouldn't be rare in the BOS because they manufacture their own T-60 suits now. It would make sense that they make their armor uniform amongst their ranks for image and moral.
Dakota Hampton but you'd need to earn it which would make sense as you wouldn't want your troops wearing power armor if they did nothing to earn it and instead did the bare minimum of their work. Plus power armor was usually only issued to knights and up. Plus manufacturing it takes resources and sometimes finding said resources can be extremely difficult which is another issue. But I can understand what you mean
T-60 Power Armour in my opinion is a major lore breaker as previous games had established the T-51 as being the ultimate pre-war power armour, yet fallout 4 threw that out of the window. It would have been far more lore friendly had they actually made the T-51 as the strongest power armour (second only to the X-01) but it component pieces are very or in the hands of very high ranking Brother of Steel Commanders and T-51 is very difficult to maintain. The T-60 was a pre-war project of updating the obsolete T-45 to more modern standards as the T-51 had proven to be difficult to mass produce so the US military would have enough power armour for the war whilst the T-51 could be assigned to elite units.

They coulda made the lore not fudged up with PA by saying t60 was developed by the brotherhood insteas of making it a prewar armor that fits the description of t51b

The T60 for every soldier is actually immersive because Maxson even tells you that the Brotherhood actually makes it themselves
A bit late but about the studies you were talking about: many studies analyzing aggression caused by video games are in fact incredibly inaccurate. To start, many studies use very strange and honestly not representative ways of measuring aggression. I remember that in one of these studies they used the subject's reaction to spicy foods as a representation of aggression. Another thing is that in the "mainstream", video games are considered bad. This means that often research and studies called upon by the government or other institutions will have the pressure of proving this problem. One example is that after a certain school shooting (may have been Sandy Hook, I don't remember, sorry) a certain senator called for a study to "analyze the harms of video games". As you can see, the researchers are pressured to comply and borderline falsify information. There's a really good book on this topic called Moral Kombat.

Video games do have an effect but it has only been proven to actually be factual in cases of people who are already inclined towards violence and aggression.
Most forms of fighting sports are a lot worse for this kind of thing. Going boxing to relieve your aggression makes it go away for the short term but over time you will become more and more aggressive. This is why it's always best to combine things like boxing with a martial art or yoga so you can learn to control yourself.
TLDR: video games do have an effect but not exactly the one people are led to believe.

Honestly I kinda hope so. It's not that they're a bad faction, but it feels kinda boring to run into them every single game. It's not so bad in something like new vegas when they're confined to a bunker, but when they're spammed everywhere it just feels uncreative.
I kind of have the same opinion of super mutants as well. They're just overdone and usually quite boring as a faction. Just random bullet spongy enemies for the sake of having something to shoot at.
What about the return of the enclave and the enclave are the good guys...

Dude it's thanks to that the lore is a mess the BOS should only be situated in the west and FO2 didn't have a lot of Bos and that's a great game plus they're not the only power armor faction in the game
They really need to get rid of the brother hood, there just so bland at this point.
"Ad victoriam" mod should have been on this list. Just off the top of my head, it adds:
- New black and red textures to all brotherhood armours including power armour to make them look more like an imposing military faction/empire. Comes in a nice weathered apocalypse edition or a shiny pristine edition
- Gives none power armour BoS soldiers a new fully automatic BLR-4 rifle with custom textures and green projectiles. Far superior to the standard laser rifle
- gives power armour soldiers a BGL-2 gatling laser with custom textures
- buffs the health of the vertibirds
- buffs the minigun on the vertibirds
- new vertibird textures
- Buffs T-60 and makes it much more durable
- new power armour frame textures to fit with the new T-60 textures
- BoS combat armour buffed to be the strongest base combat armour in the game
- level 40+ BoS soldiers use new marine combat armour with custom textures which is superior to the standard combat armour worn by lower level soldiers
- new BoS dog armour purchasable from taegan and worn by all dogs that accompany brotherhood patrols out in the world
- complete texture overhaul of the prydwen both externally and internally
- new BoS flag
- armoury added to cambridge police station
Among some other minor changes. It's the largest overhaul of the BoS and not only makes them look more organised visually but actually makes them stronger in terms of buffs and new gear. How this wasn't even mentioned is beyond me. The title is "5 mods to improve the brotherhood of steel" and the thumbnail is "overhaul brotherhood of steel". Well, you missed out the biggest brotherhood overhaul there is that improves them from both a visual and gameplay perspective more than any other mod...
The B-35c is one of my favorite armor mods. It just fits right in with everything already in the game. Enter the Brotherhood is cool because it enables to you play out almost the entire game without even encountering the Brotherhood if you want.
On another note, I would love to see more of these video for various factions. Obviously the core of Minutemen, Railroad, and Institute, but also Gunners, Children of Atom, and Raiders.
The B-35c reminds me alot of the cerberus armor in Mass Effect 2/3.
the first one doesnt work for me. The timing of the BoS entering the commonwealth is a narrative device to dictate the end of the first act. Ergo moving it would be really, really dumb. A better option would be to flat out disable joining the brotherhood after that point, as it would make sense. Danse would be busy so your only real hope for entrance would be gone. Danse could have easily gotten the transmitter without you, it would have just taken longer.
Except, he wasn't willing to undertake the mission without help.

Danse wouldn't have even needed the transmitter once they were in the commonwealth. They were using the radio tower on the roof of the police station, and while it may not have been able to reach DC it could almost certainly reach the airport.

The bos quit using older models of power armor when they started there T-60 manufacturing
I love the magnum revolver rifle, at 2:47 but a reason why we dont see revolver rifles in real life is because of an issue that all revolvers known as the cylinder gap
(except for a few exceptions, like the nagant revolver that was designed to fix the cylinder gap issue)
because when a revolver fires there is a small gap between the cylinder and the barrel. When it fires, it sends hot gasses and possibly bits of lead out of the gap and into your arm if your not careful,or just unlucky..
That is why you almost never see someone hold a revolver with their hand in front of the cylinder.
The Brotherhood of Steel has also been my favorite faction!

The lore for the T60 was that the Brotherhood discovered the blueprints to the T60 during their first scout mission to commonwealth and they either produce it outright or they found a way to convert T45 into T60 model B powerarmor.
I REALLY wish more modders would offer their mods with non leveled list options, because it doesn't take much to throw off balance. I use a certain anti material rifle mod and it goes into the leveled list, meaning that all the higher level enemies/NPC's use them so all the Knights are walking around with these ridiculous 20mm cannons absolutely owning everything in sight. The only time they die is when the AI goes full tard and stands there doing nothing and gets overwhelmed. The only plus side to leveled lists is I don't feel as guilty for carrying around an OP weapon when the bad guy also has them and can one shot kill me.
FO4Edit will do the trick.

Just kidding. But in all seriousness if it makes npc's tougher then it can only help, the game is ridiculously easy otherwise even on survival
It's really not even a difficulty thing, the weapons just feel less special if everyone in town is carrying the same thing.

That's fair enough, try the integrated commonwealth mod (I'm on ps4 so it might be differently named on other platforms), it mixes a lot of the higher level dlc weapons to the level list so there's more variety in npc weaponry

Hey juice you missed quite possibly the best Brotherhood mod; "Ad Victoriam"! It's literally the best and only mod to completely overhaul them.
it's not compatible with some I listed hence its exclusion
Orange Creamsicles I assume the magnum weapon and B-35c armor mods that enter the leveled lists for BoS NPCs. They probably get in the way of the new laser rifle and BoS themed combat and marine armors being on those NPCs, introduced by "Ad Victoriam". I don't have the game yet to verify though.

On the Brotherhood having all T-60:
I believe a remember it being said that the brotherhood had the capability of producing power armor now, and considering they had the resources to make the Prydwen, I would assume they would have the resources to make a considerable amount of T-60, deciding to use that over the less powerful power armor types.

I love this kind of video, guiding towards a big change.
Playing a game does not teach you to handle a firearm.
Nor does it teach you what to do with a body, or how to kill.
Yeah, it doesn't teach you the safety&maintenance you should have with a firearm, but other than that they teach pretty much everything else, what makes a firearm go pew, what pieces to pull, etc.
And I'm pretty sure killing someone is easy, just the emotional part is where the wall is at.
Having been on a range with a bunch of college kids that played Call of duty together and wanted to have their pics taken with cool guns (no harm in that) I can confirm that no, playing a shooting game with a controller on a tv screen does NOT teach you how to do ANYTHING other than recognize a rifle, and maybe which tactical add ons it has. That said they didnt act dumb, and started learning the basics like the rest of us had to by the end of the day.
Also killing a soft target is easy. Killing someone who is armed, and intends to fight back is a lot harder. "Gun free zones" get targeted frequently for a reason. Why people have faith a no guns allowed sign will somehow stop a mass murderer is well beyond me. I imagine the hope is that they'll ses the sign, and go "Oh darnit theres my plans for today ruined!" And just walk off to turn themselves in to the nearest authority I guess lol
Rob Sloan Well call of duty is one of the least accurate video games with firearms. Arma and the like will 100% teach a kid who doesnt know anything about guns how to use one, but without muzzle discipline and safety.

i got the revolver rifle without the brotherhood you can get inside the bunker by just getting the distress call going to the crater and the quest starts but you still have to do the full quest (im in the institute xD)

Another way to improve is to add more quests to do! The mods David Hunter - A Brotherhood Story, Operation Manhattan, and Outcasts and Remnants are all focused on BoS content. The Tales of the Commonwealth mod also has a BoS quest (among many other things).
You only need to do 1 thing to fix them. Swap’em out for the Enclave.

The reason why the brotherhood arrives in the commonwealth after you deal with Kellogg is because they have to fly a huge ship that weighs tons.... Jesus Christ it's not a "glaring issue" if you have common sense

I would like to see more of this, not only for the brotherhood, but for the other groups too.
There's a gatling laser reload fix mod that's also good for BoS play throughs (or just in general if you use it often) because it fixes how the weapon uses fusion cores and the unlimited ammo effect.
In the base game, if you use a gatling laser and reload a half full clip, you end up with just a ton of partially used fusion cores. So if you use it with power armor you might end up having a ton of your cores only have like 50 charge and it's just a whole mess that'll lead to you running out of cores for your power armor.
Also gatling lasers with the never ending effect like Aeternus is bugged. If you only have one core, it loads it and fires one shot before running out of ammo. It also uses cores in a strange way so while it is really infinite, you'll still end up with partial cores. There's also nuclear physicist, which breaks the gatling laser's reload even more.
This mode fixes all that so when you reload it turns a single core into a "partially drained" core so it uses that until your next reload, in which case it turns another one into a "partially drained" core. If you reload a half empty one you get a misc item that you can fuse into a full core after getting a certain number. But most importantly, it fixes the never ending effect as it turns a single core into the "partially drained" core and it continuously uses that, meaning it really will have unlimited ammo that doesn't mess with your fusion core stack.
The mod also lets you buff gatling lasers by giving you the option to turn off the spin up time and by increasing the clip size depending on your nuclear physicist rank, with the max rank giving you a 999 clip size instead of 500. And if you like the idea of unlimited ammo but dislike how it removes reloading, the mod actually lets you "reload" a never ending gatling laser. Not sure if it's intentional but after firing it you can actually reload it but it doesn't turn any new fusion cores into the partially drained core meaning it still uses the same one so you can "reload" it without using any ammo.
Aeternus is meant to be like that it’s intended to be a broken weapon

It's funny that you should mention the LeMat. The creator of that revolving rifle posted on Facepunch a long time ago asking about what he should do for that weapon. It's based an old piece of concept art and I suggested that what looked like a second barrel could function like the LeMat. I saw this gun again a while back and was happy to see he actually went with that idea.
I have a request: Can any of you guys who are mod authors can you create a weapon system for power armor? Like a shoulder mounted mini gun or rocket launcher W/multiple targeting capabilities for example. That would be great!

so 2 fun fact
1. power armor is not chucks of steel on frames, they are each unique and has there own systems and power sources, for instance the t-54b runs off of small energy cells and burns out quite fast, the t-51d runs of fusion cores witch, get this: DONT FUCKING RUN OUT! ITS A MINI FUSION GENRATOR!
2. this chapter of the brotherhood of steel is from DC, the same ones from fallout 3, the cannon end is that the lone wanderer helped them vs the enclave, sarah lyons took over as elder and one of her orders were to start scavenging the power armor from them. in the area they were in t-51d armor was EXTREAMLY RARE (only 2 known sets that the lone wander gets) HOWEVER the advanced power armor mk.2 (the set the enclave uses in that game) and the tesla variant of it would have been fairly common with the hellfire set being a bit more rare but they would still have a few dozen suits, in both cases the advanced power armor mk.2 would have been way more common and the brotherhood was taking them. the only reason the t-60 exsists is because the stupid devs wanted a new set, the brotherhood of steel should have been using enclave power armor with a sweet brotherhood of steel paint job!

I know im super late here but 1 mod i think you really overlooked is Deadly Vertibirds. i always hated how they did nothing but fall from the sky every time a raider threw a rock at one. with that mod installed vertibirds are the game changer there described as in the game. great vid as always btw

I hate how Bethesda avoids making any one faction in Fallout 4 the unambiguously good one by making them all flawed, and people ignore that to trash the factions for asinine reasons.
Are you using a particular mod to keep the camera behind your character (i.e.: like in the Mass Effect series after 2), or is it just great manual camera positioning?

the BOS was my favorite faction but Fallout 4 ruined it killing off sarah lyons that's another mystery was she really killed by super mutants or was she betrayed and what happened to scribe rothchild paladin tristan star paladin cross?? Well the brotherhood changed a lot from what it was in the original fallout games too. With a faction that's already proven itself to be dynamic, it's not surprising it would change again. And even then, it's not exactly unexpected. In 4 the brotherhood reunited with the outcasts, who were basically the nazi members who left when the BoS went soft.
I'm glad they didn't just make a fallout 3 sequel as well. I'd much rather have something new instead of "step aside as the perfect brotherhood saves everyone again!"

T-60 isn't lore friendly, I say we mod it out of the game and put T-51 in it's rightful place on top.
Actually T-60 is all cannon, it was the stamdered issue for militay before the invention of T-51 witch was developed by the military at fort strong. It was then shipped out but the bombs fell. Stfu if you dont know lore
T60 is a post-anchorage model that was beginning circulation in 2077 and was *manufactured* in the post war era by the brotherhood. Sorry, you're wrong

If I remember correctly I thought T-45b was standard power armor for power armor soldiers in use until Anchorage where the T-51b came into the picture and that started seeing more use and the T-60's were just starting to be put to use around the time near the bombs drop and were considered a rare power armor until the brotherhood learned how to manufacture it and it became less rare and more of an uncommon armor though for anyone outside the brotherhood finding a prewar T-60 set of power armor was basically impossible unless you knew where to look as there weren't a lot made before the bombs dropped. And I don't know when the X-01 power armor was made. I saw a video about it solving that mystery but I think they said it was both prewar and post war or something.
+Valynaz Valkynaz The new lore on T-60 is clumsy (it’s never been seen before, and given the lore it should’ve been seen on the west coast rather than the east coast; making it new armor created by the Brotherhood after the victory against the Enclave would’ve made more sense to explain its sudden presence into the world of Fallout), and the lore on X-01 is contradictory since the vanilla game says its post-war while Nuka-World has one from pre-war.

Heads up, by the way, they broke the script extender again a few minutes ago so something's coming up on the CC and I'm annoyed again since they claimed they fixed that (except for the times they add functionality which appears to be every other update they add some minor function nobody cares about)

Loved them in FO3, they were meh in NV, and I hated them in FO4.
Their importance and presence in NV was meh, but over all they did a pretty good job at expanding the story, not the main story quest ofc. (Elijah, Dead Money DLC, HELIOS one, how the BOS got fucked by the NCR, etc)
In fallout 3 the brotherhood were barely what there supposed to be, if you loved the brotherhood in fo3 than you love the brotherhood that Broke the rules. Thats why there was a civil war between them, in fallout 4 thats the true brotherhood.

Yes, not that i agree with the real brotherhood, i was just stating the facts. The entire reason the brotherhood was formed is because of a rebellion that happened between a group of millitary soldiers disagreeing with scientists because the scientists were experimenting with the FEV virus. Which explains the hatred towards non-humans. Then elder lyons was in charge and ignored the original philosophy of preserving technology to stop from a nuclear war from happening again, and instead focused on helping the people of the capital wasteland for charity. Need i say more?
And in fallout 1 and 2 they were the excact same in fo4, so its not like bethesda changed the lore, they expanded it. Elder maxon in fo4 is a direct desendant of roger maxon the founder of the brotherhood of steel.
The middle chamber of a LeMat is actually for a shotgun shell, you can actually see the man in black repositioning the hammer to strike that shell chamber in one of the scenes.
I think here's you're next video idea if you get around to it: faction overhaul V.2 since we've got so many new and better faction overhauls over the years.

Hey, so my question is, I haven’t played FO4 in a long while and I really like moding with nexus. If I come back, is there a mod list I should look into? Also, is it easier now to stack various mods without conflicts that could ruin your game later? I ask because what killed it for me last time was two power armor mods that broke my ability to exit the armor as well as mods that were supposed to help with jobs for my communities that only worked for a little before they just stopped.

That were same with me on Fallout, first time I played I were about 8 or 9 years old, saw the Brotherhood of Steel in Fallout 3 and loved the armour
In my first play through I met Danse after killing Kellogg and couldn't understand how could his team's intel be what brought the Prydwen to the Commonwealth if they couldn't transmit it. I was so confused I thought I missed something. Bethesda didn't think it through, so it's good there are mods like the first one.
A little late here, but I'd love a follow up with even more mods that improve the brotherhood.

For the enter the brotherhood mod, does it still work even though you've already beaten the brotherhood quest and its been over a week but havent killed kellogg? My game is messed up so i cant continue the story past the point where you rescue nick valentine.

Enter the Brotherhood: I would say that it makes sense from an in-story perspective. I know that, mechanically, time makes no difference. But thinking about it from the perspective of a narrative, it would make sense that the Prydwin wouldn't arrive as soon as Danse made the call. It'd take time for that massive honkin' airship to make the trip from DC to Boston. OR, if you choose to deal with Kellogg _before_ helping Danse, you can then argue that the fighting with the Feral hoard knocked their long-range coms out of commission and they couldn't spare Danse for the ArcJet raid before you showed up.
Usually lower ranking members would have older T-45 if anything, and you might see Knight commanders+ in T-60 and maybe some T-51 scattered around.
