After Kung fu panda 4, all Kai fans can finally rest knowing that he’s no longer the worst villain

Originally I wrote a 25 paragraph essay explaining how kai's character is underrated underneath the goofiness of the movie, and how hes basically what tail lung would had been if he continued on to his road of revenge and seeking of power, essentially discarding parts of his human nature, but I think we can all agree kai is up the cause as you wisely said "theme slams"
I mean Kai's thing is he is forgotten while his best friend is known by all as the greatest warior there was, to Kai this deeply.
I wish his backstory was explored mor emaybe by them finding some sort of secret hideout mad eby Oogway when he was a conqueror with Kai and the second encounter being there.
I think Kai was a fine villain, but he was just written much worse. He's a clear example of more power doesn't make a better villain. Easily the most powerful out of the three, but he's written so average-ly that it just pales in comparison to Shen and Tai Lung

Kai is a spirit being who can go toe to toe with Oogway, defeated Shifu and nearly defeated Po, until Po’s friends helped him. That’s how unstoppable Kai is, that everyone who was defeated by him put up the best fight they could only to get defeated until Po stopped him for good. It is this unstoppable nature, being bad to the bone, having a good voice actor and a badass theme to top it off that makes Kai my favourite Kung Fu Panda villain. Tai Lung is a close second, followed by Lord Shen in third place. Unfortunately, the new villain in Kung Fu Panda 4 is last place in my book because she doesn’t live up to the 3 original Kung Fu Panda villains
You really missed the point of the video then. Kai just doesn't get taken seriously ever, he's this seemingly unstoppable being but gets turned into a laughing stock every two seconds, and even stakes wise, the only one he gets close to killing is Po, we know he enslaved a ton of different masters but we never see it. Compare to Tai Lung who single handedly killed most of the prison, incapacitated the furious five, and nearly killed Shifu makes him feel far more intimidating. Shen kills Thundering Rhino, genocides the pandas, his presence alone gives Po PTSD flashbacks, he kills his right hand man without a second thought, and nearly kills Po twice, alongside the Furious Five, Shifu, the other tw masters and his own army and we see the severity of his presence everytime he's on screen.
Kai being more powerful doesn't mean anything, his presentation is just far worse than the other two's.
@@subhasishghosh6924 I see what you are saying but I honestly don’t mind the jokes because during scenes like his battle with oogway or at the Jade Palace, he was taken seriously
@@Esgles There are three scenes where Kai is taken seriously.Everywhere else he's reduced to comic relief, even some serious moments, he just turns himself into a joke, such as when Po tries the Wuxi finger hold. Compare this to when Shen first meets Po, there are jokes but Shen very clearly manages to dominate the scene with his aura when he wants to, Kai just never does that
Personally I think Kai's a good villain, it's just both Tai Lung and Shen were on Legendary level however yeah his theme slaps.

I like how every villain has a color tied to them. Tai Lung is blue, Shen is red, and Kai is green. I don't know what the chameleons color palette is though. Green? Gold?
I wonder if you updated this, would the chameleon be seen as the worst one over Kai
Because if you think about it. Kai before was not a great villain, but now is seen far better cause of the Chameleon being seen as much worse. Unless. that was the plan. the 4th movie is a fake out and made to be worse than the others on purpose so it lowers all of our guards and expectations and makes us respect Kai more, before the 5th movie releases and we get a villain that honestly is so insanely good that we question what we were even thinking.
I think what would be best option for kai is have him not be. A nobody to the characters it eliminates half of the jokes made towards him and it makes no sense oogway wouldn't tell shifu or po about kai due to the threat he poses if he's brought back. So have kai be almost this boogie man kind of character. Where his name isn't said but everyone knows who he is. So when the five are fighting the jombies they start thinking the worst that kai has returned and once they get conformation that kai has returned everyone gose into panic mode. They go through the jade palace finding it his origin and it makes his eventual arrival to the palace all the more threatening if it's like the devil has returned. I think that would make kai a much more threatening villain
I feel Kai would overall be better if they'd made it clear that his main motive was ruining Oogways legacy due to his hurt feelings over his "" betrayal "" due to him changing his ways following his near death experience while Kai stayed the same yet lost his closest friend.
I just feel that makes him more human and understandable than simply making him a Chi addict who's desperate for his next fix.

I agree with Kai but if the deleted scene and the original dark theme stayed Kai would’ve been even cooler than he was
tho kai has. Moments in the movie where he isnt all great like shen and tai lung. What i think would make kai just as powerful and scarier as shen and tai lung is his puppeter. Let me explain. Kai’s power to take gi from other masters, and using their jade amulets as weapons, almost like puppets. He can return them and send them out whenever and where ever he wants. What would make kai more scary, is making him more ominus and being a master controller. Not of peoples mental state but rather the people themself. If they made kai like that, and making himself known that he is someone not to mess with, because throughout the movie kak was never brought up, not even a mention. Like he was forgotten about. Kai would most likely be just as good as shen and tai lung

Maybe not the best villain, But Kai has the coolest aesthetic imo. His jade swords, chained and swinging around makes for really amazing visuals. Also its JKS for gods sake! That voice is just 😫

Sorry but i have to disagree. First off one of your arguments is that Kai was not being thinking seriously like had you watch Kung fu Panda 1 had you seen Pa vs Tai and tell me that fight was not Goofy. Yes they made fun of Kai but they still was taking him seriously. Like when he fight beat Crane and Mantis it was no joke. And when Kai beat Master Shifu and Viper and Monkey it was a serious moment, Just become Monkey was fighting Mantis it dose not take away from Kai Moment. And his goal dose match with his character. Kai whole backstoy is that he save Oogway they was like brother's but Oogway surpass kai so to kai he had to get strongest than Oogway to prove he was better like ever afer he beat Oogway and take his Chi. Kai still was talking to Oogway Telling Oogway how he well get strongest you see how his goal and hos character fit so well together. So yeah bad video bad take

Honestly after Shen how can Kai be scary?
Very scary because he is leagues more powerful then any of them. Kai is an interdimensional threat. Tai Lung is a local threat and She is a country wide threat. But this is a guy who nearly destroyed an entire dimension to do something nobody else had ever done and then bested nearly every other Kung Fu master. He may not be quite as well written, but he is indeed a threat.
