    I was at the Royal Gorge Bridge in 1997 , we took the tram ride down to the river and as we got down , a coal drag was coming thru ...what an absolutely beautiful and picturesque place this is...

    I rode in the cab back in October of 2017 when I first went on the Royal Gorge Railroad.

    Nice video, thanks for sharing! I never got to do that, but I did get to visit up top, the Royal Gorge Bridge, over 1,000 feet up. Funny sign they have on that bridge, saying "No Fishing!" LOL. Seeing the bridge, being on it, walking across it, was definitely an awesome, amazing and unique experience, which was back in the early 90s.

    9:15 - The beams support the famous 'hanging bridge",a short stretch that hangs over the river.

      North Texas Railfan wow. How did the inside of V20 look? Also, how much is it for a cab ride in that beauty?

    • @North_Texas_Railfan
      @North_Texas_Railfan Před 5 lety

      CSX RF&P Guy it looked pretty neat, like a normal GP40-2. The ticket price is $150, the ride is very enjoyable. You need to be at least 13 years old to have a cab ride and I was at the minimum age.

      Infinite flyer 21 I’ve had a cabride on that locomotive and it’s a GP40-2 not an SD40-2

    Earth scientists-different kinds-would have a field day out here! I wonder how long it took to construct this?

    A pity they cannot continue the ride up and over Tennessee Pass--that would be worth seeing.

    I know that ride lasted more than 12:35 minutes, so all I can say is, that it would have been nicer if the scene changes hadn't been so rapid. Case in point, as we're about to get a nice view of the bridge, the scene changes. That's my only complaint otherwise nice country, thanks for sharing.

    That SD45 is strong to pull all those cars up there.

    • @seabulls69
      @seabulls69 Před 7 lety +1

      I initially thought it was an SD45 (due to the slanted radiator inlets) until I noticed 2 things. It has only 4 axles, plus it has a steam generator extension in the end of the long hood. I think if you do some searching, you'll find that it is either a GP40PH-2 or GP40-2H.
