  • This walk from Inveruglas by the side of Loch Lomond takes in the two munros of Ben Vorlich and Ben Vane which are located to the east. A good road which services the Loch Sloy dam gives excellent access.
    A super day with the occasional shower passing through.

      Hi Phil, Your right, the hill goes on a bit especially when you get onto the summit ridge. In fact both these hills are very similar but a great pair. Cheers, Charlie.

    Love these two hills Charlie. My first and second Munros. Ben vane maybe small but it's full of character. Thanks for another great wee film. Paul

      Hi Paul, I would consider Ben Vane to be the best within the group (maybe). It never disappoints on the ascent and surrounding views. Cheers, Charlie.

    As usual I very much enjoyed your video of Ben Vorlich and Vane,you certainly got a calm looking day Charlie, done these hills a while back and found Ben Vane steeper than I thought it would be,cheers again, Ian Mckay

      Ian, You are right, Ben Vane certainly gives a couple of false hope when nearing the top. It's a wee beauty and likely to be a different challenge during the winter. ATB, Charlie.

    Another great walk Charlie. Ben Vane was my 2nd munro about 5yrs ago and I still haven't forgotten those false summits 😄 the lower path looks well improved these. days. Thanks for another excellent video.

      Hi Selwyn, There has certainly been quite a bit of work improving the path since our last visit which makes a big difference for these popular tops. Not a lot of distance just great for a bit of leg exercise. Cheers, Charlie.

    I've just found your channel and watched a few of your videos. You are so clear and guiding with your walks and you show off some amazing sights. I did this walk years and years ago and it was a struggled fora lad that doesn't do hills that often. I've subbed to your channel and looking forward to your next adventure. All the best. Happy hiking Take care ⛰️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🥾🥾😁👍😁

      @@charliemccartney7055 No worries. Looking forward. Hopefully you will have the sun shining so take plenty of sun screen lol Scotland had a funny way of putting us in a false sense of weather security lol. Do you head out in a walking club as well or just a few friends conquering the slopes?? Take care 😁👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🥾🥾

    Great work Charlie. That new path at the bottom of Ben Vane looks excellent. I was cursing it as a boggy mess when I was there a few years back. Had an excellent day on Creise and its neighbour yesterday, forecast looking good next week so hoping to get up to the South Glen Shiel ridge.

    • @charliemccartney7055
      @charliemccartney7055  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Paul, The newish path certainly makes a difference to Ben Vane and it looks as if they aren't finished yet. This is normally the best time of year for getting settled weather so hopefully your trip to Glen Shiel will be a cracker as its a super walk. We have a walking week planned shortly up in the Ullapool area and are looking at getting onto a few tops in the area. Enjoy the SS ridge.... cheers, Charlie.

      Good on ye Charlie. Have a great trip and I’ll look forward to catching your films from that one. I have a family trip to the NW in mid-June myself and hoping to get the time for Ben More Coigach if I can, have been eyeing that for a while.

      Hi peter, It was sort of day with sun & showers, ideal for rainbows. We've had a few soakings on these hills in the past so it was great to get off relatively dry. Cheers, Charlie.

    Very interesting once again. Strange to see the car park empty but seeing the width of the tracks on the hill now the area must be getting a lot use being so close to the central belt.
