  • this week see's myself & Dan head to Scotland to the lomond & trossachs national park for a three day hike & wildcamp in the arrochar alps.the aim was to start in arrochar & complete the summits of beinn narnain, beinn ime,ben vane & ben vorlich.we managed the first two & camped on beinn ime our first 1000+ metre wildcamp.however the second day the difficult terrain took its toll on us & by the time we summited ben vane we made a decision to camp there & ben vorlich is there for another day.a fantastic trip among amazing mountain scenery which had me lost for words at the sheer beauty of the place.a return trip is very much on the cards.

    Alreet there Andy,
Both you and Dan have excelled 'yer sens' with this latest adventure.
It certainly takes it out of you climbing with the big packs on, but the rewards justifies the effort.
Good section on the emergency bivvie, it's always wise to take and pack a temporary shelter an essential part of the kit as it clearly shows on your video, the weather can change so fast.
Scotland is an absolute majestic place and the misconception that they hate 'us, sassenachs' is misplaced.
The Scots are some of the most generous people you could wish to meet.
Loved the shots and time lapses, plus the length of the filming.Exquisite M8.
Hats off to you and Dan.
    Look after thee Sen.
    Cheers
    Mick.

What a tremendous trip. There's nowhere quite like Scotland. I think I mentioned somewhere that Beinn Narnain was my first Munro Andy. I was about 20 and as fit as a fiddle but that climb from sea-level absolutely wiped me out. We thought we'd see how we felt about doing Beinn Ime as well once we got to the top, but no chance after that climb. I won't bore you with the Munro we did the day after but that was even worse (but mainly due to the weather)! That was great to watch. ATB, Chris

Thanks Chris yeah that climb to beinn narnain is a hell of a climb it just seems to keep going & then you hit the spearhead with hands on climbing but loved every minute mate.it truly is a proper mountain landscape up there & safety is the upmost when descending & ascending.the route from beinn ime to ben vane there's no path's at all & it was a case of plotting the safest route possible.i'll certainly be back up there maybe further north hopefully this winter.tfw Andy.

After talking with you about Scotland earlier this morning I just had to rewatch this again haha.... Absolutely unreal scenery just seems like the mountains go on forever!! I really think id like to invest in a Soulo maybe tho just so I will have confidence. Not sure how my Vango Tempest 200 Pro would hold out in some of the more 'extreme' conditions / high winds lol I have yet to test it out more, but could give me potential issues. Also I think id like to try and get someone to come along especially as not being there before maybe. Id have to see if I could twist anyones arm haha. Perfect video mate 🥰👍🏻👍🏻
