Inventive. You squeezed out every penny worth of pattern in delightful ways. You got style lady!!!!!!
Love the way the "smocking" gives this garment shape.
Lovely tops. Love the colors and fabric.
Just found you today. I am from Sydney. Loved what you do. Your my kind of lady.
Thank you so much
My favorite is the red print you are wearing in the video; you look great in it! I going out now to shop for some similar yardage to make my own dress!
Hi Victoria! Thank you for liking my red dress. The fabric came from India. If you search on Indian cotton on eBay, you should find it.
Hi Felicity, I just found your channel. Love your hacks with this pattern. So sorry your students lost you due to Covid. Their loss is my gain! Thank you for sharing your talents.
That made me laugh! Thank you for kind words. X
The advice and tips you’ve given for the pattern are so clever and so useful! Thanks for taking the time and sharing with us all 😊
Thank you! Soo happy you found them useful. Xx
I'm glad you showed the first dress you made as I'm a large plus sized women with a small chest. Your dress would probably fit so now I know the pattern would fit me . I'm thinking I'd need XL or XXL. You are so creative, goodness.
Thank you! I hope you made your dress and you are happy with it. Xx
I LOVE the hacks you've done on this pattern! You've made some lovely clothes. I especially like the cover ups that you showed at the end.
Thank you! Yes the cover ups are very handy if you are wearing this dress or any dress really. When you have such big statement sleeves it’s hard to find something to fit over them if it’s chilly. This seemed the perfect answer.
Only just watching this video as I sew my 3rd M7869. Love love love your cardigan idea! Going to see if I can get some fabric quickly. Will subscribe and watch your other videos. 😊
Ah thank you! It’s a great pattern and one that’s hard to put away. X
Such beautiful garments you certainly worked that pattern . .. needed that encouragement thank you
Thank you for kind words. X
I love all your hacks with this pattern. The blue cardigan is such a good idea. Like the velour one too. All your dresses are beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
My absolute pleasure. Glad you enjoyed it. Yes the blue cardigan is my favourite.x
Thank you for your lovely video Felicity!
I’ve just ordered the pattern and can’t wait for it to arrive
Love all the versions- thanks for sharing!🌸🌺🌼
You are very welcome and I’m so happy you liked them. I will be back recording very soon. Xx
I learned a bit from your full bust adjustment tip. I've actually had that trouble before.
Good really happy you learned something from it. X
I love all your dresses and the dress with the machine smoking is gorgeous. I also enjoyed all your hacks.
Thank you!
You are inspiring me😊❤
I'm pretty sure I saw your post with the pink dress in one of my sewing groups!!! I'm obsessed with all of them and the hacks oh my goodness!!! I can't wait to get home so I can make some cardigans and pullovers now 😍😍😍 thank you so much for this video!!! ❤
Thank you! I’m a member of several sewing groups on Facebook, so it’s possible.
Lovely Felicity.😊❤️
You’ve made some great garments there. I love the one you’re wearing. That fabric is so fun!
Thank you! I haven’t been recording for a while sadly but I hope to get back soon. I have a 5yd piece of that fabric to give away in a raffle as soon as I get back. X
Love your makes!
Thank you so much, I’m really happy you like them. X
Just found your videos as I have cut this dress out ready to sew. Unfortunately I didn't have enough fabric to make the pouffy sleeves. I love the idea of the cardi hack to match the dresses. Very clever. I also love the bold, cheery fabrics you choose. I'm going to enjoy catching up with your other videos and seeing how your settee turned out. I bet it looks amazing. X
Yes those sleeves take a whole lot of fabric don’t they? Almost 2 metres. The sofa is an interesting one, yes I finished it a while ago. Sadly I haven’t been able to record anything for a while but will be sure to mention it in my first video back. I’ve been unable to record for a while. Hope to see you there in couple weeks. Xx
Lol. I love that fabric that you are going to cover your setee with. I am looking forward to seeing it made up.
Thank you! Yes it is divine. I have now covered the sofa but I haven’t upholstered it exactly. I haven’t been recording for quite some time but hope to get back to it very soon and I will defo be recording a video of the sofa. X
@@felicityduke-sewing6623 I was hoping you would start recording again soon. I used to enjoy watching your videos and suddenly this one popped up on my screen so I decided to watch it.
Love the frill.
Thank you! I love this top and have been wearing it a lot. Xx
Love the cardigan!
Thank you! Xx
I’m new to your channel! I love your dresses. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. I’m excited to view your other videos. 🌺😃🌸
Thank you very much for your support. Yes I did get quite addicted to McCalls 7969 didn’t I. I’ve not been recording for a few months but I will be back very soon. Xx
I love all your hacks! I just found you!!
Hi Vivien Lee, thank you! Will be back posting soon. X
Thanks, I have that pattern and it was great to see what you did with it, love 💕 all the beautiful colour fabric you made them out of, I love red but it doesn’t suit me. Thanks Vicki from Australia 🇦🇺.
I’ve not been recording for a while but hope to get back soon. I’ve got a 5 yard piece of the Indian cotton to give away as soon as I can get back. X
Love all your hacks! Especially the blue cardigan! I’ve made two dresses so far and had to do bust adjustments too, I also added pockets and ties to mine as I like to pull it in on my waist to give me a bit more shape too 😀 Really enjoyed your video! Xx
Thank you! I’m soo happy you really enjoyed the video.
I surprised myself that I could make soo much from one pattern. I’m quite sad to have to move on from 7969. Yes my favourite is the blue cardi.
Hi Felicity! Just found your channel, enjoyed this video and hope you are still recording. Love the fabrics you've chosen for your dresses, gorgeous! The little red lace topper is darling. And so awesome to get so much out of one pattern, for sure. Thank you! Angela
Thank you soo much for your comments Angela. You have probably noticed I haven’t been recording for 6 months. My husband and I both became ill in September last year, not covid thank heavens. We then moved house in November last year too and everything was too much. All my sewing machines went to storage. I was teaching sewing up until first lockdown but haven’t gone back yet. I’m hoping to get my classes back soon and get down to some more recording. Going to take a look at your channel now, it’s hard going isn’t it? Xx
@@felicityduke-sewing6623 Aww, sorry to hear so much going on for you right now. Hang in there!
Hi Angela have subscribed to your channel. First video I watched was you showing a pattern that I have waiting plus some brown linen to make it with. The biggest headache I had was having to get rid of at least half of my fabric stash. I’ve been hoarding fabric for 45 years. It’s soo hard getting rid of things that were so important to you 40 years ago. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️xx
@@felicityduke-sewing6623 Thanks so much for subscribing. Yes, agreed, destashing can be very tough mentally. I hope you've gotten nicely settled in now. It takes a while for a new place to become familiar 💕
So very pleased I have found your channel, I have made this pattern a couple of times but it never looked right on me, now I know why, I need a full bust adjustment !!! I will follow you now and look at all the back videos. Bless you, love your style x
Thank you soo much for your kind words. I’ve not been recording for a while but will be back soon. Hope to see you there. Xx
ME TOO! I made a toile to fit the dress for my daughter and had exactly this problem. I am heading to your video on Full Bust Adjustments now and hoping it isn't too complicated - I am only an enthusiastic beginner!
Hello there I've only just found you and am loving your videos ☺️. I noticed you haven't posted anything for some time, I'm hoping you are well and that you will soon be back on air! I've just ordered some cotton fabric from your Indian supplier 🤞🤞 hope I love it as yours is awesome. Take care and hope to see you back here soon. Luv from West Wales x
Hi Lynn! Thank you for your kind words. Yes defiantly will be returning at end of this month. Circumstances have made it very difficult for me to record recently. Looking forward to getting back to it. Hope your fabric turns up very soon and you love it as much as I do. X
Wow fab makes 🙌💜❤️💙
Thank you! So happy you enjoyed it. Yes I’m missing that pattern but must move on. X
I have just come across your vlog, and love your style I have subscribed. From Australia
Thank you Suellen for kind words and subscribing. X
So glad I found you, you are simply delightful! I was researching mc7969 and there you are! I love this pattern, been considering purchasing for about a year, I think. If there is such thing as a small bust adjustment then that's what I need. All dresses and tops that cross over have a plunging neckline which I'm not comfortable wearing. Would you know how to bring up a neckline on this pettern? Thansk...you look stunning in red!
I think it won’t be so plunging if you have a smaller bust. It only plunges low if your bust is large and pulls the cross over apart. Make a toile for the top of dress first and see how it fits, I use old sheets to make toiles. You can easily raise the v though if you need to. I would just add on 1/2 - 1 “ from front wrap over to round neck. Do you have a small bust but are plus size or are you small all over? X
Thank you for showing all your makes with this pattern. This has been a very popular pattern. I have seen other CZcams videos on this pattern. I also plan on making this dress. I am also a plus size body type. Did you have to make any other adjustments to this pattén.
Hi Evelyn! No I didn’t make any other adjustments but it would depend on your bust size and upper bust as to whether you would need further adjustments. I also added pockets and shortened the pattern for me as I’m only 5’ 2”. Hope this helps.
Thanks Felicity the dress you did not alter for the bust can you fix it after the fact ?? to make it look nice ?
Hi Maxine! Are you asking if I can fix mine or have you made one that needs fixing? Sorry to sound a bit stupid!
@@felicityduke-sewing6623 i was just wonder if there is a way to fix anything like this once it made , i have dress that has a similar issue and i never wear because of it cutting me up but i really love the dress
Ps My mum always said never use that stupid word because it has no content to it!! LOL sorry i did not explain very well.
Hi Maxine! I really don’t think there is anything because the front bodice needs lengthening before the skirt goes on. I don’t sew the skirt on until the bodice is straight and well under my bust. If it’s one you have made I would unpick the front bodice off and make another one but altering it this time. If you don’t have enough fabric you could use a contrast for the front. Hope that helped.
All your videos say they were uploaded 1yr ago. Are you going to make new videos?
I defiantly am. It’s been a hell of a year but I am back teaching and will defo be recording again. X
I am in the middle of making the dress and I have a question for you. Did you use interfacing on your bias binding around the neckline? Do I have to cut the interfacing on the bias too? Thank you so much!
Morning! I’m an early riser. No that’s one part of the pattern I found pointless to interface a bias strip. Yes if I was to interface it I’d cut that on bias too but altogether a pointless exercise on a bias strip. Also I don’t cut the strip for the sleeve band on the bias, I cut that on straight grain. No need to cut on bias if it it’s attached to a straight ish piece. Hope that helps.
@@felicityduke-sewing6623 Thank you so much! It is very helpful!
Love your fabric for the steel. I'd love to do embroidery with you.
Maybe one day!
