I think you look lovely in your dresses and very clever hacks. I just taped my McCall's 7969 together and am getting ready to finally make a dress. Yes I am a bit behind the times here since I think the entire world has made this dress but I can't wait to jump on this band wagon. Thank you for sharing your makes and showing us what we can do if we so choose.

I haven't sewed it yet either. I've had the pattern for over a year!

I also love your cardigan. It looks so lovely on you! I have some questions for you. Are the bias bindings on the neckline and on the button bands of the same width? What did you do at the point where the neckline binding meets the button band binding to make the transition smooth? Thank you!

Hi Kelly! I made the band down front a bit wider as I had to make buttonholes on it. I have also used a soft interfacing down front band, this band is cut on straight grain and not bias cut. The neck band must go on first, the front band i seamed each end before attaching to front, the band was attached to inside and then turned to front and top stitched. Hope that helped. X

Thank you so much, Felicity! It is very helpful! I will try to do the same on this pattern! Can’t wait to do it!
