    Make sure you sleeve that frame break with a smaller piece diameter pipe before welding it in, it'll strengthen it to ensure it doesn't snap again, plus with that rust and thickness of metal it'll help it weld easier.

    Sounds the same way my 85 did when it had a blown head gasket. It doesn’t sound as crisp as it should be, top the radiator off and start it up with the radiator cap off and watch for bubbling. If there’s bubbling it means the head gasket is blown. Don’t confuse bubbling with the water flowing, if you can see actual air bubbles then it’s the head gasket.

  • @finster7582
    @finster7582 Před 3 lety +5

    Check radiator to see if its actual coolant or just straight water..if its jus water, u know its burning coolant n they jus kept adding water when it gets low ( if thats the case, u kno what u gotta do..) 😃👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

You can find most of the parts you need to build one at your local hardware store, costs around $20. The leak down test will let you check your seals and gaskets for air leaks that could cause rich and lean running conditions. The compression tester can be used to judge the health of your top end, piston, cylinder, and rings.

    Only half way through the video, but with good spark and great compression, the only other thing preventing a start would have to be the fuel. I wonder if that fuel filter is impedning the flow since if the whole setup is only gravity fed, and there is a pretty good bend in the already short fuel line from the petcock valve to the carburetor. Pressing play now to watch the rest!

      Lol my neighbor gave me his metropolitan for free saying it needed new rings after a shop checked compression and told him that. Nope just needed valve clearance adjusted, I sanded down the valve shims and cleaned the carb, bam runs like a champ, thing has 10,400 miles, leaks acouple of drops of oil per week but I'm fine with refilling the oil evry 6 months. Compression is spec after valves being adjusted, I'll probably sell it for 600 with how many miles it has, I have 300 into it with tools and a new clutch because the other one had bad bearings. I'm 15 btw.

    If the comps too low it will struggle to pull fuel. Not enough vacum

    Will it run? It's a honda ain't it? It will run I bet. I have had quite a few dirt bikes in my days and most were Hondas. I love honda bikes. Great little bike.

    You should do some ground up builds on bikes. Take it down to the frame and powdercoat it and build the fuck outta it. That would be some good content. I love watching people take a clapped bike and make it showroom new again.

    I'm thinking possibly the crank seals also!! If it's the clutch side it would burn oil from the transmission. The stator side is possibly the culprit!!! If it's not an intake boot leak. It did look like you tore the gasket though. Good diag!!

    Man, I wanted one of these so bad when I was a kid. My buddy had a KX 80. Several guys in the neighborhood had dirt bikes. The Hondas were always fast, and broke down less.
    My parents said no, but didn't mind me riding my friend's. Go figure.
    With my luck, I probably would have been hurt badly with my own.

    Do a comp. test hot, see if diff from cold will indicate broken or stuck piston ring. Good comp when cold but ring will not expand with cylinder when hot!!!

    Probably need to invest in a 13/16 wrench and a 5/8 wrench. Those are the most common wrench sizes for spark plugs, using a pair of channel locks is not a good way to remove your spark plug.
