I also don't like a man that smokes. It stinks. Clothes smell and their breath smells too. I won't be able to be around him. And he really shouldn't smoke at home with a baby there. He seems super stubborn so I don't know if he will keep that promise.

Yeah, I'm male and I also absolutely detest the smell of cigarettes. Can't even sit with someone smoking for more than three minutes. It kills me when people smoke in restaurants in China against the law everyone time I visit.
I can't breathe in the air with cigarettes smokes around (it's really painful because my nose feels like not working anymore) so it's like i have no choice but to live without them. My family don't have any smoker too since only my mother who doesn't have weak lungs.
Just look at his face. Take a good look and you'll see that he couldn't care any less about all this. Look at how he sits, so carefree, so relaxed. There's no need for further counseling since he's already shut everyone off. Some sense that everyone's trying to talk into him will go in one ear and out the other.

1. If you don't want a smoker husband don't date a smoker and marry one. Its not easy to stop smoking. Don't expect them to change for you.
2. Breaking off to see someone's reaction? What is wrong with you?
3. About the games, she somehow married a child. Who the hell spends thousands on clawing machines?! Shouldn't a person with responsibilities think about spending money wiser?
4. Even if you can't stop smoking shouldn't you at least not smoke in the house and be sure to get rid of the smell before interacting with your family?

I was in a relationship with a man like this before, we recently broke up beacuse i realized after 3 years that he is never gonna change. He promised me he would stop drinking, smoking and many other things but he always broke his promise, i would get angry at him and we actually broke up so many times i lost count. When i had broken up with him he would come back to me and beg me to take him back, he would promise to change and he did change. Some changes were permanent but many were just empty promises. The permanent changes made me blind and forgiving towards him, i realized the permanent changes he made was not beacuse i told him to change or because of his love for me but because he simply grew away from these things. He was no longer intrested in those things and he made me believe he changed for me. And my mistake was i believed him.
I hope she realises that this man is hopeless before it is too late. He is never going to change because he doesn’t want to change. He has a beautiful loving wife, a son, a house and a job and yet he has to drink soo much? This man need psychological help ASAP.
Omg I felt like I was reading my own story . I felt relieved when it ended for real . The fact he moved away helped so much and being busy at work definitely helped to stop thinking about it.
On anther note , People like this man are selfish, I feel that because of how korean society works The man just wanted to marry her so he can have the “married” status. And divorce is not something any korean wants because of the stigma and stereotypes about it. Sad to see so many married couples in here , yet we don’t know how much this show really does for the couple. With any addiction people will relapse. That’s why the “treatment” or “help” needs to be constant and with a professional.

This is why I ain't gonna get married. I ain't risking my life to a man that's all sweet when they date and after getting married he thinks he owns the woman now and can do whatever he wants, because if couples divorce the social burden is all on the women.
Its not marriage that is the problem though. Enough happily married couples around. The problem is people get into a marriage when they themselves arent even independent financially or emotionally AND people ignore the obvious red flags in the name of 'love'. My grandfather died at a young age from drinking and smoking too much, i wouldn’t wish that upon anyone else. I hope he actually gets help for himself and his attitude. Best of luck to this family.

I think the wife was horrible for testing her husband when she broke up with him for 2 weeks. Why did she think that was a good idea. She just broke up with him for no reason, he was actually quitting then her actions sent him back. She needs to hold some accountability in how her husband can't quit.
That being said, the husband now knows he has her and she can't really leave so now he is taking advantage of that, hence his ugly behavior.
Cigarettes, coffee and stress will lead him to an early grave. He needs to listen to his wife more I wish him the best.

B Maydu is right. First, divorce is extremely frowned upon. Second, it's always the woman who takes the blame. Being a "single mother" you become a pariah in society. Third, economics. It's hard enough for young people to find a job in the current Korean economy. A single mother? One in a billion jobs.

Don't be, just dont rush to marry. Someone that keeps up a front during dating can only do so for X weeks or months before a slip up and their big behaviors that they would potentially hide shows through. If a guy smokes and he promises to quit then no sex until he has quit for at least a month because then he has a reward to gain. If he can "get the goods" no matter what then he gets the best of both worlds. By no marriage and no physical intimacy until a promise like that is kept you protect yourself. I can't date people that smoke because of my asthma and when I tried to date one he was very clueless about his responsibility in my lungs so it never went further than 1 date. I'm now married to someone incredible and my friends calls us couple goals... all because I put up standards that I would only marry someone that would also be my best friend because if you aren't best friends you wont last. Best friends have each others back, encourage eachother, and never get sick of hanging out together and talking about anything and everything. Build that relationship quality during the dating period while waiting to see the true colors that come back after the new and excited love settles into comfortable love.

He wouldn't realize if smoking and drinking alcohol are bad for health before he's suffering some health issues due to it. So many cases in hospital patient come with cancer stage 3 until 4, after they got that disease at the end they feel so regret to have smoking as a habit.
