Hey don't worry you will be successful no matter what you do!! ❤️
Nim S thank you!
Manisha - you're motivated and have a passion for medicine, that's the most important thing! You'll get in I'm 100% sure, when you get in doesn't matter at all
I understand how you feel right now because I was in the exact same position last year! But don't give up! I'm also working towards it and it may take us longer but it is worth the wait :D
hey there i'm sure things will fall into place for you eventually as everyone hits a bump in the road, just gotta keep trying💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾hope you have a good gap year xx
Awww hun! I can imagine how heartbreaking that is! A levels are tough but you will get there! You will I know so many people who were in the same position and got there. Wishing you the best!
321SalmaR thanks!!
Well done Manisha! I've been subscribed to your channel for the past year or so and your enthusiasm and diligence has inspired me as a hopeful med student too. Don't worry, although it may seem tough now I know that it's all going to work out for the better, everything happens for a reason after all! :)
Loved following your journey
I've waited soo long for this video!!! Well done I'm so proud of you. Don't give up I believe in you😀
Hey Manisha! I'm Sanjana :) I'm sure you will pull through and get that Medicine place! Maybe another option could be Graduate Medicine? Wish you every luck in the future!
I really admire your bravery to put your results out there although they weren't what you wanted. This is one of the best qualities to look for in a person wanting to become a doctor. i wish you all the best and I am sure many people benefited from this video.
So sorry to hear, you got this!
Hi Manisha, don't worry about it, instead see it as a learning curve. I'm sure you can turn it all around this year. You mentioned on the student room that Keele and Lancaster accept retakes. I believe Manchester do too, so do have a look.
I know someone from Newcastle University, who is currently studying Medicine, who took two gap years, and still got in. Don't be disheartened, I'm sure you can turn it around with lots of hardwork!
Mahdi - Seeking Wisdom thanks!☺
Hi Manisha, i am sure you will get better grades next year!! You seem to have a very big passion for medicine and that passion will take you a long way!!! Keep working hard and you'll get there !!! I believe in you !!!! Xxx
Hey Manisha I wish you all the best of luck to do well next year fingers crossed!!!!!
I had an offer from Leeds back in 2014 and missed my grades, ended up going to Newcastle through clearing and had the most incredible 3 years and now am starting medicine in September, to say I was heartbroken would be an understatement but honestly turned out to be for the best and I now couldn't be happier. Good luck xxxx
What did you do for the 3 years if you don't mind me asking?
Zoe Nxx Pharmacology but you can transfer to any of about 6 courses after the first year of BioMed x
@@megp8277 oh okay I see, how hard/competitive was transferring go medicine if at all?
Hey! Things are going to work out for the best.
You may not have gotten in this time but you may get in next time. Looking forward to more content :)
Priscilla thanks☺
What would you have done differently? I’ve got an offer for Manchester Medicine so far (AAA) and am terrified of missing it. My a levels are bio chem maths.
Your so strong, theres no doubt about it you will be a doctor.
Hi i'm in a similar position with the reapplying process, do you know how much of your personal statement you have to change when you apply again this year? btw you have some solid grade and best of luck for the future!
when did you start revising for your a levels?
Hope you have the best gap year xx And get into medicine x
Hi manisha, i am in the same position as you for this year. i was wondering when reapplying how did you do in your UCAT exam? what did you get? How did you prep? and how long for ? Your reply would be greatly appreciated xx
Just saw your video on the student room and I couldn't relate to you anymore! Seriously this was me last year. I took a gap year and I'm now where I want to be so don't worry, everything will work out for the best! I hope you get a place for medicine this year - but incase you don't then at least you can never regret not trying. Good luck with your gap year and I'm sure you'll look back it as a blessing in disguise😊x
Melanie Robertson thank you so much, definitely reassures me☺
do you know any uni's that certainly would give you a place even with having to retake the year as i think ill be in the same position as you x
Hey Manisha good to see a video from you and hopefully things turn out well, i was in a similar situation with missing out on my firm at Newcastle but getting my insurance and feeling really confused, things really do feel rushed the week after results. Ive decided to take my insurance and will try to transfer if i do well in my first year. Good luck on your gap year!
Ross England thank you! Best of luck with uni☺
Don't worry darling ❤️
Hey... those are great grades. I know for a fact you'll be successful and this is nothing but a learning curve.
Good luck in your gap year and we'll be here supporting you every step of the way
Ese Omoru thank you!!
Manisha I just wanted to say I feel u!! U are the most intelligent person I know! I also got really bad gcse results but I wanna do law at Warick but I got 2A*s 5As 2Bs and a C
Think of it as a chance to excel even further. You knew what was required for A2 and you have another chance to do even better. You should watch Ibz Mo. He it rejected from Uni of Exeter and had no other option but to also take a year. Now he is in... CAMBRIDGE! Wish you the best of luck
Hey, I’m also applying for medicine after a gap year and I don’t have anyone’s support, will you be able to check my personal statement I need someone to check if there is any mistakes etc
Love your videos 🙂
Have you thought about studying medicine abroad? I'm doing it in europe as i didnt get the alevel grades either. Let me know if you want more info x
Have you thought about studying medicine abroad like in eastern europe?I'm doing it atm so let me know if you want any more info!
Oh girl, I'm so sorry u didn't get in to medical school. Im actuall sitting for the ukcat so I can understand how difficult it is to get in.
Manisha i'm in the exact same postion as u don't worry just stay strong. P.S i know this is late
Can anyone please explain why more girls do medicine than boys do.(N.B. I don't do sociology)
Oh babe!! I feel your hurt, the same thing happened to me expect I was hoping to do law. I was predicted the same results and came out with similar results to you, so I am too resitting. We'll get through this and get onto our degrees in 2018, don't u worry!! Are you going back to college as a year 13 student or are you resitting as an external candidate? I have to do the latter, if you are too could you possibly make revision videos on how to be your own teacher if that makes sense?? Lots of hard work, fingers crossed and Class of 2021 hopefully!!! Xx
BornToLoveVintage resiting as an external candidate, I can try to make some videos. Best of luck to us!
To a bit of a fan girl. I currently volunteer at a hospice serving tea, water and cakes to the patients. However an access tutor said I need to shadow a doctor as well if I want to apply to medicine. Do u feel this is true, and if so how many days would I have to shadow a doctor for?
you will get in next time around..
I wouldn't be too hard about it, you did the first lot of the new A level exam, 11 people in my year got offers but none made the grades. Those papers were hard, literally only had the specimen papers to actually practise new spec questions
I'm currently in the same position as you and still not sure as what I'm doing but are you taking a gap year so you can re sit your exams or ?
Anna Hill I suppose to resit my exams and get the grades I need but also didn't want to go into a random course for the sake and thought it would be better for me to take a year out. If you want to talk to others in a same place, I've made a group chat, message me on ig @_ManishaP if you would like to join☺
So sorry to hear you can't do medicine this year! Was rooting for you!!
Are u able to do a a video on the application process for medicine as an A level re-sitter? I thought keele only accepted A level resits based on achieved grades over 3 years
NeighboursFan yep so I called Keele and I was wrong😅 But Exeter and Bristol accept resits, I'll defo make a video about applying as a resitter
BitOfAFangirl x thank you! Wishing you the very best of luck with your reapplication! Do keep us informed on how it goes :) xxx
Omg I'm actually crying in the street, I missed my offer at college however I sent my papers off for a remark and it went up from a low C to an A* I hope all goes well for you x
no way, what subject and board?
How are you going to resit the exams? You're not in college right??
Cave Man resiting as an external applicant so I'll work independently and go into school for the exams
Hopefully it all works out for you. When will you re-sit the UKCAT?
Ronnie Chan do you have to resit the UKCAT?
Attique Ahmed I would think so since your UKCAT grade is only eligible for a specific year of application otherwise it is void.
Attique Ahmed unfortunately 😭
Got it in two weeks!
Sigh 😰. I do mine tomorrow and so far for my mocks on medify I've gotten only grades in the range of 570-670 for each of the four sections and highest sjt score is a band 1, but most of the time I get a 3 or a 2. So worried about tomorrow 😖.
Do you live in London? Look into Kings EMPD
Younes Benbida unfortunately went to a grammar school so don't qualify💔
I'm on a gap year and reapplying to medicine aswell, are you resitting all of your a levels?
orton507 everything minus AS maths so plenty of revision😅
BitOfAFangirl x I hope you score better next year. So will you be applying at the same time as me (2018 entry?)
Hey! I'm in the same position as you and I know how tough this decision was to make .. Literally every few seconds I was changing my mind saying I wanted to go abroad or I wanted to do a different course :( But I wanted to let you know you might be eligible for university east Anglia medical school and Exeter medical school also so give them a call and see! Best wishes x
Thank you! If you'd like I've made a group chat with people also taking a gap year and applying for med or dentistry. Just message me on ig @_ManishaP if you're interested☺
BitOfAFangirl x yesss please !
So gutted for you, I was a re-sitter and right now I am studying medicine so it can be done! 1) MAKE SURE you apply to liverpool, they require min CCC at first attempt 2) Apply to exeter, since exeter rank on A level predictions. It may be hard but try to get A*A*A* predictions, change school if you have to, this would give you best possible chance of interview here. If you go to a lower performing school you will be given an advantage. 3) Did you have any extenuating circumstances? If so, most of the unis will be open to you, all you have to do is contact the unis prior to applying, and see if they accpet your circumstances.
V Moses hey which subjects did you have to resit? I'm applying to Bristol, Kings, Exeter and Liverpool
Cough
Are u married?
Is anyone here on a gap year and reapplying for dentistry?
