It’s quite amazing to see the father when he picks up the fish vs the sons. All are supremely skilled, but the father just has a way to settle the fish down, they are much calmer. Plus, he doesn’t just pick them up, he cradles and gives them hand-hugs, if that makes sense. Great to watch
So true Arno, I love these videos!
Pl
The colours and the markings on these fish are just wow absolutely stunning
I love the amount of respect they show towards the fishes. Japanese people are definitely the best koi breeders. Thanks for sharing
Respect only for those that are beautiful, the others.....😢😢😢
Thank you for being respectful to the fishies and giving them a huge area to swim in
Thanks for watching and reaching out to my channel 🙂

21:30 Woah! Look how beautiful that country side is!!! I wish it were that beautiful here in the US where I'm at. That view is stunning! Japan has beauty like no other thanks to the people taking great care of it. Beautiful island country!
I love these traditional farms that go down from generation to generation where their craft is perfected to a tee too. The passion and pride they take in their work is incredible.
Us literally have the best views in the world
Everyone: I love how gentle they are with the koi
Me: watching them chuck Fry into a lake like a FedEx package
I have to say, watching this was.. oddly relaxing and beautiful. I think it was the music, paired with the subject of creating life. It comforts me that because Koi are historically quite sacred in Japanese culture, the Koi are treated with absolute respect and care.
Thank you Rage
Oo
Creating life is not usually a relaxing topic but they definitely managed to make it relaxing with these fish and the music, it’s just lovely.

I spent more than 20 years as a koi keeper. Now that I am to old ,with no one to do the work. I no longer have them. They are truly living jewels and I miss sitting near the pond or waterfalls feeding the koi. It was the only time I relaxed. I should have done more relaxing near the pond.
Wow! Such a beautiful fish! Watching they way this family breed and raise is like an art form. They’re absolute masters of their trade, and such a privilege to be allowed to see their process💗
ITS SO RELAXING TO WATCH THIS VIDEO.ESPECIALLY TO SEE HOW PERFECT EVERY FISH LOOKS LIKE.
EVERY ONE THAT CAME OUT OF THOSE PONDS WAS SO AMAZING
after going down a koi rabbit hole today, I really appreciate the detail you went into here. absolutely fascinating. thank you.
❤️
Thanks for the footage, I have a long lasting passion for fish, especially koi I find watching koi so relaxing, I simply allow all my stress and frustration be absorbed by the red colours and allow grief and sorrow to be absorbed by the black colours. I am truly grateful that I am able to visit koi farms and competions in Japan through the Internet. An educational treat for the senses
Wow incredible koi, can’t get over the skin quality and how intense the colour is 💖
👍
Such a beautiful fish with so much history, so much hard work and care put into this job. Thank you for such beautiful culture. The fish is truly a living piece of art.
I like when any kind of farming is 100% transparent. Very interesting, informative and beautifully done. Thanks for the video and thanks for the team at Shintaro Koi farm. 🌺🙏
Amazing to see all stages of ages!
Why are you reposting your own videos and why are you commenting with your 2nd acount under your own vids?
I'm just in awe of this profession as I didn't know it existed and how they take such gentle care of these fish during the whole process. Amazing.
Wunderschöne Fische vor allen die dreifarbigen
Watching these beauties took my breath away. They are more beautiful than diamonds, rubies and pearls any day. ❤️

Love seeing these beautiful swimming jewels. You have shown some exceptional Koi in your visits. Thank you. My favorite is the 3 colored...just like a Calico Cat. My favorite also. It would be helpful if when putting written script on the video if you could leave it up for a moment longer. I read well but have difficulty reading it all. Thank you for your consideration.
Oh so lovely koi fish, I wish i could make a pond in our house for this lovely fish☺️
Oh they are stunning. They are treated like royalty, now I understand why they reach the prices they do. Back breaking work, very much respected.
Wow amazing beautiful Koi Fishes.
This is a very beautiful and pleasing experience. I'm so glad to have stumbled upon this!
This is beautiful 😊
Thank You ...to everyone involved with making this video! So beautiful and awesome!👏
Beautiful colors fish 🐠. Thanks for sharing ☺️👏🇳🇱
I’ve seen several of these koi videos but this was very detailed. I’ve always wondered how the collect the eggs and fertilize them!! Well done!!
What happens to the rejected ones? I'm only half way through so I hope they cover that...
I bought Koi at a privately owned pet store when I was a teenager, had them in a 55 galon fish tank until they were aboht 112 inches each and about 4 years old... Then gave them to a friend who had a pond. I never looked up what kind they were, i remember I had one that was a shiny pearly metallic yellow gold in color with large plate like scale down its back. She was lovely! She was a butterfly koi with the longer fancy fins. She ended up being bigger than all the regular one's. I bought them all when they were about 3 inches in size and about $9. I think the gold butterfly was $15. This was back in the early 90's maybe late 80's.....
I know some fish owners will mix water with clove oil, and slowly add it to a bucket with the fish. It basically acts as an anesthesia, and if you add alot to the water, it causes the fish to fall asleep painlessly.
Wow you got a rare koi for relatively cheap even in those days
@@Queenofthatank What was rare about her? She layed eggs twice, but they were never fertilized as far as I could tell. They all went to waist and I ended up having to remove them from the tank, what weren't eaten by the others or the cat fish that is. She was beautiful, I remember in the early hours of the summer mornings the light came through the back window behind the tank and she would just shine. The shop owner didn't like her because she had the plate like scales on her back instead of the normal scales. But she reminded me of a golden dragon. And her long butterfly fins were stunning. He said if she was any other type and color he would have marked her price up. He was suppose to get red and white butterflies, and instead she was the only butterfly he received, the red & whites all had normal fins.
FASCINATING
What an amazing video 😍 to see the beautiful cycle of Koi life is so peaceful yet exciting! The Koi here are gorgeously beautiful. I also love the village as well! I would love to visit Japan, and visiting this area would be awesome ❤️ thank you for this video!
Thank you for watching and reaching out
I thought it was interesting but not peaceful at all or natural at all. Kinda felt bad that they have to go through all that just to make more fish for humans. But it's cool seeing the process anyway.
I love these beautiful beings, they are so cute and cool! And the quality of the video is amazing! Can you do more of these long Koi vids?
Super 👍🧚🏼♀️🧚🏼♀️🧚🏼♀️🧚🏼♀️🧚🏼♀️👀
I love these koi videos
Thank you for allowing the film to be presented to everyone.
Thank you for making this film. I enjoyed it very much.
Thank you Jeff
Is there any footage of the recently hatched fry and how they transfer them into the ponds? Amazing video, I am very excited to some day have my own koi pond. Your videos are definitely inspiring me!
also looking for the same .....eggs hatching and newly born fish....it is only thing missing in the video
beautiful koy 😍
Beautyful Koi...
Nice video
Love learning about this process. I wish a little more detail was provided about what happens to non selected koi and what koi are considered "good" vs "bad"
I wish there was more narration in some parts as well as I missed information a few times because of sudden text and those parts I had to replay several times because the text went away too fast.
Thank you Big Mood for watching and reaching out
@@TheKoiPartner I found interesting, but left me with more questions then answers.
The not so perfect koi are sold to fish stores.
I bought 2 beauties from a breeder, raised them from youngsters. They became so friendly that I ended up loving them like a cat or dog. I had to find them a new home around 7 years old and I miss them to this day. Hope they are doing well.
Absolutely beautiful to watch ❤
nice video
1 of the videos I spent over an hour watching
It's the 21/12/21 and I have been on the earth 52 years and just found out about how they breed koi thanks for sharing the video
Our pleasure!
Well done! You explain everything perfectly.
Good job boys
I like warking it plese
This was glorious to watch. You are masters of your craft, sirs. Those Koi are magnificent.
Thank you Natasha
After the eggs are fertilized, I fiind it absolutely astonishing that it only takes 3 DAYS for the eggs to hatch. True miracle.
Thank you for sharing this video, for me it was a beautiful experience🙏
Thanks for watching Camille, good to have you here
Feels like I fell down one of those strange CZcams rabbit holes. 😂 Interesting though.
😂😂🙋♂️
I grew up doing this stuff at my family's fish farm. Some of my best memories
This is great work from some breeders of Koi.
Thanks dude for uploading
I think that this video is a repeat of one that was put up a few years ago. But it is really good.
Just amazing, the work is so labor-intensive but the rewards so great thank you for such an amazing video
Oh man this is just making miss my koi boi Hiro back home a bit more while I’m stuck in college
Thank you for that amazing video. The koi featured are absolutely amazing and It's hard to believe they can grow so large in such a short period of time. I wish I had a pond large enough to house koi like that and of course the money necessary to purchase koi of that quality. For now however your videos will be as close as I get to them.
thank you for watching and reaching out 🙏

Awesome work. I am so glad I took the time to watch this. So much to getting a great Koi. Can’t wait to see the following videos. Thank you so much for showing all of us how it’s done.

Wow amazing...I ❤️ koi...
Beautiful. Can you describe how the Koi are shipped from Japan to other countries around the world?
Thank you for this beautiful video .I really enjoyed it
The hard work really pays off in the end! Kudos to the owner and his 2 sons. The kois are beautiful and well grown. I love and hoping to take care some of these kois someday 🤞💐❤️
Not sure if I missed it, (also haven’t finished yet) but what happens to the koi that don’t get picked? Surprised so many hatch yet so little get picked :o very cool
They throw them in the trash. I’m in my second year of fish keeping and had wondered the same thing. I hoped the culled fry served some kind of purpose like as fertilizer or food for other animals. But no. Just trash.
@@madrungarage641 Alive or clove oil?
I've been wondering the same thing...I have a friend and they(family) rearing catfish, they do keep every hatchling unless they die off so im surprised with how these guys just trash their hatchling
@@bidav2114, Koi is the rich mans game. To keep prices high you keep the demand high, you don't flood the market with great fish, you only sell the best of the best and you kill the rest. They said 30,000ish fry per batch, and your lucky if you see 30 fish in that pond on the last harvest. I found this very sad to watch.
I actually own 3 shintaro tosai, and I’m in the UK so I’m guessing after the first couple of selection they sell the ones they don’t want! Not sure but that’s my guess, still outstanding quality tho, but not quite show fish, for example I have a great Kohaku but it has a tiny red speck on its fin which would be marked down at a show so im guessing that’s why it was sold on.
This is awesome, Thankyou
🥰
Wow. That was really cool to watch.
And truly beautiful fish.
Checking out part 2
Am starting to make large bowls with koi on rims and then fountains with koi..ty for so much information and a close up look.❤️
Some of them look like they have a heart ❤️ shape. It’s a lot of work best wish to family. Thanks for a video I love watching your channel.👍
Amazing video! Thank you for putting this together and all of your hard work.

Excellent care koi breeding
In 1985-1986, I was a student worker at the University of Hawaii at Manoa on the island of Oahu. I worked on Coconut Islad, a research facility called HIMB or Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology. My boss was a grad student doing research on spawning and grownup of the Chinese Catfish, Clarius fuscus. I learned these techniques and am amazed to see this video. This reminds me of my college days. So wonderful!
So beautiful ❤️❤️!!!
