  • Learn how to roll from the back to the side and relieve your lower back. This is one of my favourite Feldenkrais Lesson which I often use at the end of a long day to help 're-set' my back muscles. Its quite a simple lesson and a lot of fun to do.

Thank you Stewart enjoyed these movements and feel very relaxed. I really like that it is a reminder of a long time ago that we would have done these movements and have "forgotten" how we did. Just hurt my lower back, excuse me, on the toilet bowl. So I searched for this to try.
... Wow, it took me several attempts to bring the hurt side to follow the good side to roll back to the middle. I had to let my good side travell very far, making my legs separated very wide , before the bad side was willing to follow. I was a bit scared that the bad side had been disconnected! LOL!
... I have just finished following the video and I will do it again tomorrow. You notice I haven't said whether it is good or bad. I want to feel first. But Stewart I greatly thank you.

I think it will love it Pilar. It was written some time ago so the language is a little dated but still hugely relevant. The first sentence encapsulates his whole method. The notion that we move in accordance with our self image and that instead of being trapped in our habits of movement we have choices that enable us to move better and live well as we age.

    • @stewarthamblin

Thank you very much pvellison. They are knows as Franklin balls from the Eric Franklin Method. If you google that you should find information about stockists. In the UK you can get them from Amazon but I buy them from a great company called Sissel UK. They are sold in pairs. Its a good idea to invest in a small hand pump. Sissel sell these to for a couple of pounds I believe. Make sure you choose the orange Franklin balls as there are others of different colours which are used for other things. I hope that helps. Hi Stewart I love this class, my L1 and L2 are fused, so muscles in that area tend to be crunched up, I had a question you work more on rolling to the left side, it is my right side, shoulders neck, Quadratus, psoas that is more tight, does it matter the direction of the rolling, to release a certain side more effectively?

    • @stewarthamblin
