    A pleasant video with pertinent tips and warnings on how to successfully use this product. This is excellent, as I have ordered the 8 ounce kit through Amazon and expect it any day now, in hopes of making water effects for a cold and slushy diorama of my first model tank. There are a number of different products available to the modeler, ranging in single bottle ready-to-pour liquids promoted for dioramas, to more industrial related products as found in the Home Depot website. I chose Envirotex because of a CZcams poster showing it as his personal preference, whose diorama backs up his skill as a modeler, and substantiates his critical assessment of a given product. For myself, making small puddles and rainy looking cobblestones - this product in 8 ounce quantity and low cost should fit the bill.

    To the person who asked how to cut down the gloss, you can use a very high grit sand paper (2000) to cut down the gloss. Try it on a sample first, if still too glossy, then start using a lower grit sand paper (or steel wool) to see how much of the gloss they cut down.

    Oh dear, I recommend using a bigger brush for apply acrylic gels or mediums. Covering the surface quickly is important for a good bond and smooth application.

    I have used this for awhile and I love it. But if I want to have a matte finish instead of the high gloss finish, is there anything I can add to make it come up with a flat matt finish? Or is there something I can so to it afterwards to remove the gloss shine?

      I know it's an old vid, but she mentions this on her homemade gift page-Update: I’ve been told that after the initial 24 hr set you can bake the epoxy in the oven at 175 °F (80 °C) for 2-3 hrs to help it really set rock solid, but I haven’t tried this myself. Another reader told me that they tried it but it made their tiles lose their gloss.

    To which material the envirotex does NOT adhere? I have to make a "frame" for it and then remove it. I tried with styrofoam with no success.

    can you apply a second coat if this resin once the initial 1st has cured?

    • @rallekralle11
      @rallekralle11 Před 8 lety +1

      yes you can, but it's better to do it after about 12 hours, while it's still a bit sticky. so the new coat sticks better to the first one
