A very special thanks to Justin Trudeau for his obviously successful crackdown on 'harmful' illegal immigrants, I'm sure the country will be far better of without hard working, tax paying, honest, law abiding people such as ourselves who fall into the criminal category by nothing other than paperwork error....
I'm also sure the truly harmful illegal immigrants (traffickers, murderers, drug dealers, pimps, extortionists, benefit collectors etc etc) who its been proven that you have completely lost on your radar will just hand themselves in, in due time because they obviously like to follow the rules and because its the right thing to do..... What is the current estimated numbers? Oh somewhere between 35,000 and 150,000 (That seems quite a vague estimate JT) off radar but we cant be sure for obvious reasons.....
They only know where we are because we have fully complied wherever humanly possible, how is it fair that we get deported yet the real problem isn't even on the radar and will get to continue on life in Canada no matter what their crime or detriment to the Country?
We live off the grid, in the bush with 100 million acres of backcountry in our backyard, we survive very successfully, we thrive in this environment..... If we wanted to not be found, we wouldn't be found.
We are complying in the bid to not effect our chance of return in the near future. We want nothing more than to achieve legitimate Permanent Residency here so we can continue our lives where we thrive the most.

Illegal immigration is a massive problem let there be no mistake about that. With that said your situation is in no way "illegal immigration", it's a simple migration status error and there should be a simple way to resolve the issue. On top of all that.... in a world of 7,000,000,000+ people we ALL have issues to deal with as individuals.
Sorry to hear about your situation, but a few points to clear up, you were not issued a deportation order, you were issued an exclusion order. A deportation order you would never be able to return to Canada, as you said you can return in a year and that is because you were only issued an exclusion order. If your status is expired for less than 90 days, you can apply for restoration of your status while still in Canada. Once it is past the 90 days then you cannot apply for restoration of status while in Canada and you must depart Canada. The CBSA officer has no discretion once the 90 days is passed. As you said, it has been a year, so you are well past the 90 days. After a year you can apply to come back to Canada, but the biggest thing you will need to prove is that you intend to leave at the end of the authorized stay. Best of luck.

Trudeau changed the description of " illegal immigrant " to "irregular immigrant" to make it more palatable to the Canadian public. Now unidentifiable illegal immigrants from who knows where are streaming over the border . Canadians are hemorrhaging money to support these people all in the interest of Trudeau growing the future Liberal voter base .

Complete bummer! Just like here in the US. Only the law abiding suffer the harsh hand of government enforcement. The good people pay the consequences of all the illegal activities committed by those that don’t follow the law. Even when caught, they get preferential treatment and are often spared the penalties.

Chris, you need to get hold of the MP nearest to where you live to sort this matter out for you. It took me nearly 2 years to get my immigration sorted in Canada and a lot of money.
