- The Quilter Aviator Mach 3 is the world's first fully 200 watt dual channel combo amplifier. Weighing in at only 21 pounds, there is simply nothing on earth capable of doing what this amplifier can do. Delivering 6 of the world's most sought after amplifiers on a silver platter, the Mach 3 is as tone-ful as it is capable.

Man I am so glad I bought this amp based on your review! This thing is AWESOME!! (Originally I was looking at tonemaster reverb deluxe and so glad I got this instead for extra $200) The volume, tones, controls, etc., etc. Basically, what you said and then some!! I find myself using top boost paired with my Gretch the most though. I find that the possibilities are endless with this amp, and the best part is I can get rid of about half of my pedals.
So, can you get decent edge of breakup tones without an OD pedal? I’d love to have a grab & go amp that would allow me to leave the pedalboard at home.
Very accomplished playing....what a great demo! THANKYOU J!
Those Plexi tones from 7:58 are fantastic! Worth buying for that sound alone! The other tones (and low weight), are just icing on the cake!!
So much yes! This is exactly what I want. I have the Aviator Cub and love the tones. I only wished I had a two channel setup with the tweed and blackface channels, and here it is!
You can always use a Y cable...
you could just get the UK version as well and run a 2 amp rig...
Is the 60 watts loud enough to gig with in the cub?
Oh wow, and that line out sounds amazing
Great sounding amp, and its solid state. I've always enjoyed JLJ's demos, he's an excellent player and really knows how to "dial-in" a variety of tones. Nicely done.
Sounds absolutely beautiful!
Had mine for a few weeks now. Im not worried about tubes AT ALL. Its a work of art, and a triumph of technology. It FEELS right, and sounds amazing!!!
This sounds amazing, and looks cool. I can't lug my tube amps around anymore. This could solve my portability problems, and cut down on pedals, too
Do it, you will not regret it!
Great amp, great demo, great playing.
Amazing tones!
If this is what is replacing the MicroPro series, it is a great progression.
I've been playing a Mach 1 MP200 since 2012 and it has been a delight from day one.
tone from the heavens, my god please have one in stock when i save up to buy one!
My gosh. Everything Quilter makes is just so, so, so good.
But do I need a fourth Quilter amp?
I'm gonna go with YES
Yes...so much yes.
Yep, it's the eternal question for so many of us; do I need this? Probably not. Do I want it? In this case, oh lordy, yes!!
@@emmanuelangelakis2569 haha exactly! Have you ordered yours yet? I've seen you on the Facebook group, I can't recall if you bought it or not
@@BryanTheBand, yep, in a moment of weakness I put in an order. Hoping it comes in a week or two.
@@emmanuelangelakis2569 nice!! I haven't jumped on this yet. Though it does look incredible
Would love to hear this amp with some mid to high gain pedals into it.
Love Quilter. I have the 101R right now, but Im looking for a two channel Quilter amp. Either this one, or the OverDrive 202. I have a Quilter 12 HD cab I can pair either of them . Just cant decide if I want the bigger size Mach 3 head, or the smaller Overdrive 202, which can be docked like my 101R. Just cant decide.
BEautiful playing J!!!
Nice sound and playing Jay! Wish I could hear this on a high end 2 x 412 stack or even 1 412. Marshall, Mesa or Orange would be nice.
What's up with the two foot switches? If you mentioned it I may have missed it.
It is a big step up from the MK 2? J do you like them a lot?
Killer. I've got an Aviator Cub and I just love it. My tube amps are getting dusty.
For playing pink floyd, hendrix, srv..this amp is good ??
This guy is a badass guitar player period. It's not the gear!
😵💫 I’m still using the aviator Mach 1! 😆 I have no urge to upgrade to anything else cos it sounds fine 😅
What is the cab? U can buy it like that?
The combo allows you to remove the amp and set it on top? I cannot find any information on this outside of the video.
Yes. If you purchase the combo, the head is attached in the back, but it can be removed and used with another cab if you choose. You can also purchase the head separately.

www.quilterlabs.com/collections/heads/products/mach-3-head
So you can plug two guitars in? Can you do like a stereo out somehow so you can run two different cabs?
No, both guitars will go to both cab. You can't split the output.
Dig that Charlie Parker!
Can someone please recommend a good 1x12" extension cab to pair with the Mach 3? I expected them to release a unit like they did with the Mach 2
People are saying the Celestion Neo (or even Alnico) Cream in a 112 cab is great with this amp.
Hey David, if you do go that way…would you mind posting here your experiences with both the amp and cab?
@@JPMonstie I appreciate the recommendation but had already pulled the trigger on the Quilter 1x12 Mach 2 extension cabinet. I haven't stretched out completely on it yet but so far I'm very happy.
@@JPMonstie sorry, you're also asking about the amp. Every time I play I select a different amp model and they're very different, they respond differently. I enjoy them all for different uses and haven't found any favorite settings yet. I didn't care about the modeling feature when I bought it but it's a pleasant bonus.
I love Jay's playing! And sounds of amp is great of course. And i love death metal
makes the neo copperback actually sound pretty good
Great demo, amp sounds great.
I'd like to see a dB comparison of those 200 Watts vs 40 Watts of tube amp power such as a Fender HRD 1x12. Just about every non-tube amp has trouble keeping up with a tube amp with stated lower wattage.
If I find a non-tube amp that sounds as good and as loud as my Engl with E850/100 tube power amp (that's dual 100 watts from 8 6L6GC tubes) I'll buy it.
The amp is actually a 400 watt amplifier limited to 200 watts. It will more than keep up with a 40 watt tube amp. It will blow it completely away.
@@daddaladda I'd still like to see a dB comparison. I've yet to find a non-tube amp that has the same dB level with comparable wattage ratings.
I've got Class-D powered PA cabs stating 1100 Watts; my dual 100 watt tube amp will bury it.
Maybe Quilter power amps are comparable, that would be great, and I'd be happy to be proven wrong.
I've been looking for a 2-channel, non-tube combo amp for years, and I have a Vox MVX150C1 on order for months, probably in a container ship off the Cali coast. It's rated at 150 Watts, and if it can keep up with a Vox AC-30, I'd be more than happy with it.
Cheers!
@@zoomzoom3950 Totally agree, although nowadays, I usually take a mic from my Fender BDR to the PA, so its stadium-deafening possibilities aren't so important. I also have an old Marshall 75 Reverb tranny amp, which holds its own against the Fender, albeit with a very different sound. Class D amplifier power ratings are pretty meaningless.
@@zoomzoom3950 Not sure if this helps but I played the Cub which is 50 watts and at half volume it was easily at "gig" volume. Insanely loud and moved way more air than any 50 watt solid state I've ever heard.
@@zoomzoom3950 Remember dB is a factor of wattage but more importantly the sensitivity of the speaker. Guys on the Fender Super champ forums are putting 101 dB Ragin Cajun 10" speakers so they can use them with drummers...
On a more practical note: I've gigged out my Micro Pro Mach 2 HD a bunch of times...sometimes in a 6 piece band with 2 other guitar/vox harmonies and keys...with a reasonable drummer I've never had it past 5...plenty of clean headroom on tap and I've gotten nothing but compliments from other guitar players about the tone.
Love Quilter, love my Micropro HD, was excited about this amp coming out. My only complaint is that it's a huge missed opportunity. I've got a Yamaha THR100hd with dual amp/channels in and out I was hoping to replace with the Quilter. This needs a second power amp with 2 true amps in and out for wet/dry and dual mono use. I'll probably just get an Aviator Cub for a dry side.
You can use either an ABY switch or a Y cable to plug in to both inputs. Both inputs can be active at the same time by setting SELECT In the middle. Each channel will now top off at 100W so there is room for both within the amp’s 200W power rating.
@@QuilterLabs101 can I run each amp to its own cabinet?
@@bryanherward4679same..
While I see two 8ohm speaker outs I don’t suspect they’re independent of the channels.
I was going to snag this not for wet/dry but true stereo 🤷🏼♂️
@@pbosche look into the Orange rocker 32..it actually has a sterao return and 2 independent 15 watt amps each running a speaker. That...or any of the 80's big 2x12 amps...Peavey classic 2x12 chorus, crate's...etc...actually have stereo returns and 2 power sections...with one of those you could run wet/dry/wet with anothe amp...Harley Benton has a small pedal sized 100 watt stereo amp...that or the Seymour Duncam one might work...
Two things. Why are there so few reviews of quilter products, only JLJ and the other guy Ron I think. Where are the big reviewers, the magazines etc?? Second, JLJ plays great but this just too much whammy bar use and ambient effects to tell the real tone here. A walk through changing each dial one by one would be more useful than just hearing this pro make it sound perfect. It will never sound bad the way it is demoed.
Of course you realize you are saying this only 2 days after the product was launched right? Maybe give a little more time? Also, why would we want someone to demo our amp and make it sound bad?
@@daddaladda on paper this amp seems perfect and I would buy it, but as I don't live anywhere near a stockist in Europe, I need independent reviews to put the amp to the test for me. Great if these are on the way, but I couldn't find many reviews when I was looking at the cub either.
Oh... god.... YES!!!
Wow!
The fender types sounded killer. The Plexi didn't.
where do i get a quilter shirt?
www.quilterlabs.com/collections/merch
After the tax returns I will be getting one of these!!!
Take my money
$1,199 USD. Save your pennies. :)
Wow
im getting one for sure time to sell some stuff
The clean tones are very good, but you put out an amp with a mass of power, and there's nothing in the demo showing how it sounds for metal. I use multiple dimensions but absolutely want to see how aggressive something can get.
The Diezel channel is that way 👉🏻
@@zoomzoom3950 looked into them.... With what they were comparing I wasn't all that impressed with the cleans... Probably going to wind up going with orange
@@williamkramer9731 I went with Engl, some of the best modern cleans tones I've ever heard. I already knew Engl had plenty of saturated distortion, and I don't use much "crunch" beyond edge of breakup. It was the cleans that sold me on Engl.
I still have a few Fender tube combos.
I wanted a small, lightweight versatile combo so I have a Vox MVX150C combo on order waiting for months. I sold off my Vox tube amps years ago.
I wish Quilter would showcase some heavier sounds with these amps. So many of the demos are too "tasteful". Looking at you @Russian Circles ;)
stay tuned
the only thing that could make this amp any more epic is if one tone was called "Dude" to match the "Sweet" ;-) (dude, where's my car?) ;-)
It is really hard to get an idea of how an amp sounds over youtube and i have a hard time trusting a manufactures self demo. In all my years i have never seen a quilter in person. The optimist side of me says this is amazing but its none of the shops around me (2 one is part of a christian store) have any quilters
I can see a lot of wedding band guitarists really digging this amp.
It’ll be nice if they ever make a high gain style amp. Like in the realms of Mesa Mark V, Diezel VH-4, Orange Rockerverb MkIII, etc. To me it just sounds like a bunch of amps that go from clean into vintage crunch style overdrive. That’s great for all the grandpas out there that like to play their old guit-fiddle to impress the ol’ turkey vultures out there , but I’d like something that’s capable of scorching the earth.
Overdrive 202
If you want to sound like a chainsaw, a Revv will do.
Has Quilter just said hey metal and punk guitarists forget you!? Every one of their gear demos are some jazz guy or clean guitar or blues guy. Us hard rock guitarists would like to hear some higher gain sounds, preferably on a non tele or strat. You're alienating a big audience

more on the way!
The drive clips in that are absolutely comically horrendous! The cleans sound like there's a blanket over the amp
I have a Mach 3, and you’re right, the drive sounds are horrendous. That’s never been Quilter’s strong suit. However, the clean sounds are superb. Maybe it wasn’t dialed in to your liking in this particular demo, but I can dial my Mach 3 in to sound pretty close to my Princeton Reverb. It also takes dirt pedals really well. So, while it is kind of a bummer that the dirty sounds in the Mach 3 are sub-par, it’s still a very flexible, useful amp with the right pedals. Quilter really does need to work on the dirty sounds in my opinion.
correct. use it on the fender clean and use pedals for the nasty
Great playing but as far as the amp goes, just another modeling computer that really does not sound
It is analog. No computers involved.
'...that really does not sound' What does this even mean?!?
Are you speaking from experience or just your opinion?
@@dmitriygritsenko22 Pretty obvious he's just bashing it because it doesn't have tubes. He didn't even bother to research that it's not a digital amp.
Amazing quilter labs amps the best solid state amps
