I have been playing over 45 years and seen some of the biggest names in guitar players in person up close. Mr. R.J. Ronquillo is one of the GREATEST Players out there today and does not get enough credit in the big time. He is a Super player and I look forward to his demo videos. Can't say enough good about his guitar prowess.
Shout out to Jam Track Central for the backing track!
Nice!!!
Does this amp have enough clean headroom to hang with a loud drummer?
This is what I was hoping Fender would do with their Tonemaster line but instead they just rehashed the Deluxe and Twin, tweeked the reverb and switched to Celestions. We want the Tweed twin and Tweed Bassman with all that processing power used for the best overdriven sounds possible, enough with the convolution reverb, dammitt. Rant over, this Aviator Cub might have caught Fender with their guard down, man, I hope these sound as good in person, thx!
@@cchavez248 I bought a Point to point wired Victoria 45410 59 Tweed Bassman with Jensen 10” p10r and I added a Flint Stymon Tremolo Reverb pedal it’s all you could want
@@bastardsonofretkillr Man, you've got the dream rig going on for sure! About the only things to worry about is size, weight, cost, tubes, and volume. Still, in all that, I can't really fault you at all, I've considered doing all of this myself but my bank account just laughs in my face! Sweet rig!
R.J.‘s chops aren’t fair.
His chops are Great.
And than you realize he also plays slide guitar like a pro
This dude kicks ass.
Every time I listen to these amps I’m impressed. Can’t wait to find one to try for myself, locally
This cat can make anything sound good.
MrQuilter, I just took possession of this amp from Sweetwater based on RJs playing and your wonderful tones... thank you so much for your technical abilities to make such a great product!!!!
Played through this amp with a Les Paul and it was tone heaven. Best sound I’ve heard in a while. I’ve owned many different tube amps and this one wins.
Awesome playing RJ! You inspire me to want to practice more every time I hear you
What a great demo! Great on every level.
I love your work RJ. YOURE ONE OF MY FAVORITE GUIRAR PLAYERS.
Great Demo by RJ and a wonderful sounding amp. Sure sounds like there are tubes in there!
Hey man! Killer job , as usual. Love your style and tone.
Excellent playing as usual and extremely nice amp !!
RJ some great playing buddy!!! A man of so much talent!!! Bravo!!!!!
Sounds amazing, RJ.
Absolutely superb playing
Awesome playing and tone when he turns the reverb up there at the end of the video
Great demo and great dual screen layout of your hands on the guitar while being able to view the controls.
Just bought this amp. Too fantastic to describe. I have both a Fender Deluxe Reverb and Princeton that I have used for years. Quilter is now the go to amp and not just because of its light weight. Clean tones are far superior with crazy headroom.
I agree it has a nicer clean than the princeton, but after trying one out today, I can't honestly say it came close to touching the clean on my DRRI. It's pretty compressed after a certain point on the volume, where as the deluxe stays pretty open even when breaking up a bit. But honestly, for a non tube amp it was pretty good.
is quilter a tube amp or a solid state amp?
@@topoftheleaderboard SS
@@anonym3727 appreciate it
Brian, is it loud enough to gig with? This amp really appeals to me but just wondering if it would could through without mic’in it up.
Damn smooth playing. Nice demo!
Great demo...thanks!!
tasty playing those blues riffs were superb
The Telecaster into the black input jack does it for me. (Says the guy who is an original owner of an unmodified vintage 1965 Fender Deluxe (non-reverb model).
Nice RJ!
While listening to this late last night, I ordered one, from Reverb. But, they're all just about the new price. 😭 I agree with what others are saying here, RJ Ronquillo plays really great, 🙂 and he is very likeable! 🙂
Now that's a demo
sweet sounds
Does the speaker volume know act like an attenuator? Amp sounds great and great playing RJ.
No talking = perfect
Killer tones 👊🎭
I've had my Aviator Cub for about 6 months. It works with everything I have arch tops and solid bodies. One amp, who would have thought?
Unbelievably good juicy playing and tone. Ordering this now.
Nice demo. They should make a head version the size of a 101R.
Sounds great. Is it possible to power an extension cab with the cub ?
RJ back through a Quilter.. Universal Balance = Restored.
Nice sound
Nice 👌🏻
Great demo! Do you have the guitar volume cranked to 10?
I am still interested into this one, mainly because my ToneKIng Grande is soooooo heavy, I have some back issues.... maybe with a Morley ABC I could switch between the 3 channels ....
Fantastic playing RJ
Is it possible somehow to have the line out without the cab sim ? As just a raw speaker output ? i'd like to know if I can plug a captor X on this line output and use its top of the line cab and mic sim technology. That would be fire. Otherwise i'll have to plug it directly in between the amp and speaker, but not as clean and practical
What exact model is this, and is that a 12" speaker in there and how does it take pedals, please.
I wonder what this sounds like in the flesh? I've read many comments saying that the amp is excessively trebly and I'm not hearing that here.
Oops. To answer my own question I think it is overall volume and not an attenuator
Good demo. The line out sounds seems very compressed compared to the speaker/mic.
I’m going to cut my fingers off because I’ll never be this good. Thanks for a fantastic demo.
How much time do you practice every day?
@@dimitris70 I’m 80 years old and my fingers do get very tired and stiff the next day. I practice two sessions of 30 min most days.
@@chuck2388 Sir you gave me courage to continue
My target is simple
Tomorrow I will be better than today
Thank you
When using an a/b/y pedal to switch channels, can you also blend the two channels you're plugged into?
I had the same thought. I guess the first question is, can one plug into more than one input using an ABY switch? There might be some switching going on with the input jacks that would prevent that.
To answer my own question, I just took a look at the manual online. For inputs it tells us "The Tweed, Blonde, and Black inputs have independent 2 meg preamps that bring your pickups to life with extra-high impedance to preserve the delicate overtones of all mag-netic pickups. Multiple instruments may be connected without cross-loading, or a single instrument can be switched using an external input switcher. Try each one and hear how the sound of iconic amps evolved during the era when the electric guitar first became a hit instrument."
So, that means that one can use an ABY or ABCY (if such a thing exists) to switch between inputs or use them simultaneously.
Ain’t no amp in the world gonna make me sound like that! Doesn’t mean I won’t keep trying though ;)
This is the blues as I like to hear it.....with melodicism. None of the boring Clapton pentatonic scales and string bending. Well played...great tone. Gotta get me one of those amps and add a tremolo pedal.
Sounds good here. Are these amps worth buying? Why? Price for this one? Practice amp territory I’m thinking. Thanks
Damn…RJ you could plug into a garbage can and make it sound awesome. Love the sounds you are getting here.
Why is it so many bluesy players have to use all this shit to get a tone and R.J. plugs in and gets some of the best tones ever immediately lmao
Anyone tried this amp against the Tone Master series?
I haven't tried Tone Master's against this but being so scooped like Fenders are for me not so great with pedals. Cleans are fender nice but the gain didn't do it for me. This has the mids with gain I like. The cleans are great too. At half the price I'd take this for sure
Does anyone know what is this gorgeous guitar 11:53 ?
Knaggs kenai
It doesn’t seem “warm” at all. Yet still sounds pretty good
So this is what the Superblock US is based off of. Does the Superblock's Line Out sound like this?
Fender amps.
is this too loud for home use is there a master or atten. to play in an apartment? or is this just a loud gig grab and go? thanks
Not at all. The master allows you to set the level at any volume without changing your tone. That and you can always use headphones while turning the master to zero and setting signal volume where you need it.
@@daddaladda thanks so much I hate headphones and was wondering if the quilters sound good here in nyc tube amps do not!! u have to find the sweet spot say on a princeton at 4 or 5 which is getting loud in a apartment!!
Sounds like "Need your love so bad" from Peter Green. Would be cool if the amp could be switched between different amp-models with a foot-switch.
It also sounds like “Night Life”
It's a standard 8 bar blues chord progression.
Great playing, as always! interesting amp, might have make me hesitate to purchase it instead of my ToneKing Falcon Grande .... but the lack of footswitch to change channels is a BIG minus for me. maybe for the MKII they will add it ...
What about an a/b/c box?
What model is that first guitar?
Looks like a Rock n Roll Relics Lightning
Is this loud enough to be a gig amp without being mic'd?
Some folks over on the Quilter FB group seem to think so.
Sounds killer but when it breaks from sheer volume it kinda creaks out.
and another RJ demo costs me money.
:D
Is this meant to compete with the Deluxe Reverb Tone Master?
I have the Deluxe Tonemaster. A very fine amp when I use my pedal board. My Mustang 100GTX gives me everything without needing a pedal board. All good choices for me.
Allright Quilter, don't ya think it's time to hook R.J. up with the Cub UK?
czcams.com/video/8VKAbX6fAs4/video.html
Wow that little amp sounds good ! You’re just the guy to show it off. I wonder about the FX loop . Is it before or after the reverb. The reverb sounds like a tank . I’m hoping the fx loop is after the reverb so you could throw a good tremolo pedal in the there and get an accurate fender trem/ reverb combo.
FX loop is pre-reverb.
Are Quilter still made in USA?
china
@@mrsimpleesarcastik3494 thought so
@@breakfastwithtrees9524 they used to be built in the USA...but,,you know how that goes
@@mrsimpleesarcastik3494 yep I have one built in USA
Does this have tremolo???
No.
The Micropro Mach 2 does...along with 3 knob Reverb
Boss tremolo pedal 😉
No, but the Quilter Steelaire also has tremolo. It's my main amp, but I just got the Cub and it will be my main amp now, unless I need more volume. The both amps are awesome.
@@memphismick7010 thanks, I'm on the fence about which amp to get between the Fender Chris stapleton Princeton or 64 Custom Deluxe Reverb or Quilter cub but I did just bought a Strymon Flint Reverb tremolo pedal so the Cub maybe a good choice
San mo pinapatugtog yung backing tracks mo
this does not compete with the deluxe reverb it beats it all to hell.
no. not even close play them side by side
You couldn't tell the two apart in a blind test.
@@sooparticular Somebody could play a lick on this thing and then play the same lick on a Deluxe Reverb, and you wouldn't be able to tell which was which - especially if they were being played through the same speaker. The idea that there's a big difference between them is laughable.
youre wrong.@@profd65
@@profd65Hi.. how are you so sure?
Have you played them side by side?
I need to stop watching RJ Ronquillo’s demos. I want to buy every amp he plays through.

The Line out sound awful. Muddy and muffled. That needs a revision.
why would you want a tube amp, tubes will be obsolete in the near future, reverb that sounds better than any spring unit.more head room. 20 lbs
