Thanks for the video. Was very worried when I received the airbrush with no real instructions. But this was clear, concise, and very easy to follow. Great job.
So I decided to do away with my crappy no-name brush and buy something nice, so I got myself a Renegade Krome. The first thing I did when it arrived was strip it down so I could understand how it all worked and what each piece did. Now I don't have any airbrush lube yet, I have ordered some, but that was only yesterday. So having put it back together (with the help of this excellent video!), I thought all was good, until I decided to test it hooked up to my compressor. I decided to run some Vallejo cleaner through it first...and this is where the problem became apparent. Essentially the problem is this: When I push the trigger down and back, the needle doesn't move. When I tighten the needle chuck, then push the trigger down and back, the needle moves, but the trigger stays stuck in the back position. I have spent the last half an hour seeing if there is a perfect "sweet spot" - where needle moves and trigger springs back, but no luck. I've googled this, and the only answerI can see is "tighten or loosen the needle chuck" as a solution....which obviously doesn't help me any...... I pulled it apart again and reassembled it, hoping I'd screwed something up in the reassembly last time, but again, the same problem. I'm totally lost as to how I can fix this, but I'm really hoping I'm just an idiot and I'm missing something really, really obvious....
I needed to see that! My brush was sticking after one or two uses and I started to unscrew things without knowing how to put it back together. I watched your video and was good to go! Thanks!
I agree with alienxyt, I started tearing mine apart and wasn't sure how to put it together. The vid was very helpful. Needed plenty of Needle Juice or the needle won't return. Looks and feels like a quality product, can't wait to try it out.

The Badger Krome looks just like my Badger 155 Anthem only with a cup mounted on top. All the other parts look the same except for the body. Another modification you can make is to remove the valve assembly and find a spring like the original and clip off a couple of coils. This makes the air easier to turn on without so much pressure on the trigger.
Your description is incorrect when you say for adjusting the trigger tension all that nut does is hold the spring in, the whole body adjusts trigger tension
How can we back flushing when the naked aircap (fork one does not fit 0.3mm tip ) mounted on KROME , I tried hold the rubber cap ,but it always fly away , and impossible unscrew air cap for back flushing (too short , it will fly away when bubbles ran into paint cup)....
Received mine today. It would be nice to have included an Instruction Book/ Owner's Manual. The set screw on this 2017 model is allen wrench dependant. NOT included. C'mon, man!
The paint tip on my Krome seems to be clogged. Despite appearing to be completely clear and clean. Any tips on cleaning a clog. I've backwashed and soaked in cleaner and still no paint comes through. Air passes fine, just not paint.
Shoot a mix of Windex and denatured alcohol. Do NOT shoot dry. Don't let it dry in the brush. Don't shoot just air. Shoot some of this mix, then pause for 30 seconds. Shoot some more through, and pause to let it cut the dried paint. Repeat until the mix shoots through ok. Replace mix with IPA. Shoot that through until you are sure you got the Windex out. TIP: shoot a little thinner before the paint, to coat the metal parts before running the paint through. Learned that from an expert.
Do you know of anything else that can be used as a lubricant? Possibly something that's already commonly owned (ie. KY, Vaseline, glycerine, etc.) ....you know, for times when you need one but haven't had a chance to go purchase one at the craft store?
Can anyone (other than Badger themselves;) recommend this or the Harder and Steenbeck Infinity? I am looking to get my first proper airbrush to replace the horrible Aztec one i never could get on with and I've whittled it down to these two. It will be for general use, model planes mainly with the odd car etc.. if anyone has both and can give an opinion it would be greatly appreciated, Many thanks.
Ok, Badger, searching for your product (New Renegade Krome) is a total pain, your website is horrid. Links there do not show this model, nor does the site link you to any material but for this video, and the link here goes to a UK supplier, not ideal for US shoppers. Can anyone offer some help finding a damn price on this gun/kit, or a US supplier??
Just doing a simple Google brings up an amazon link for it. Try doing a bit more leg work instead of the whining and complaining on someones video about the breakdown.
New to this, but I must buy an airbrush, so I am exploring and trying to learn. I wonder if they've made any improvements in the past 9 years. Seems they don't like to share much information. And, it seems to me that an airbrush is used to spray stuff on surfaces. To my very naive way of thinking, how that looks is a lot more important than the kind of chrome they may have used to coat the body. Why not shoot some paint on a few things? Wouldn't that be amazing? Doesn't seem relevant to these guys. Based on this review, I would never click another product they sell...but I am assuming this review was just shit, and maybe the product deserves better representation. We'll see.
i just bought one of these of amazon and it was fake, so please be carefull when buying airbrushes and either purchace direct from thge manufacturer or from a well established airbrush supply store.
not bad a review ....however big issue....you broke it down way too much ... who would remove the chuck nut , the spring, and tension setting components ?.. that should be removed all as one unit to keep the setting in tact!... you just gave the impression this airbrush is far more complicated and parts laden, to take apart than it really is ... at least make a note of that in the review..this may seem too complicated for some viewers.and I have read that from beginners in a couple forums.
It's a poor workman who blames his tools. In the hands of a capable artists this airbrush provides exceptional performance. There are many incredible artworks done with the Krome that evidence its incredibly high quality and performance capabilities.
@@kenschlotfeldt3965 yes if you have the luck to find a good one, they are simply not as good engineered as the H&S So quality wise there is a huge difference.
@@wappietamtam6546 There maybe design differences, but the Krome is as well engineered and performs exceptionally. The capable artists who use them will tell you there is no limitation in using the Krome, and there is nothing you can do with other airbrushes that you cannot do with the Krome if you are a skilled airbrush artist.
Why? Badger makes the best airbrushes on the market. I have the Badger 155 Anthem and it works perfectly. Plus they are made here in the good ole USA and parts are easily obtained and plentiful. Check out US Airbrush Supply. They carry all Badger parts and their shipping is very reasonable.

This is a very thorough review. You have taken much of the mystery out of the airbrush
I needed to see that! My brush was sticking after one or two uses and I started to unscrew things without knowing how to put it back together. I watched your video and was good to go! Thanks!
I purchased the H&S Infinity a while back, It is a superb piece of engineering. Thanks for the reply however.

These are Awesome brushes and they sell out Fast...
I actually had to wait 3 months, but now that I have it, I guess it was worth the wait.
I really like my krome rk-1... Even more than H&S Evo... :D
It took me about 6 weeks to get mine.
Are you able to do the back flow technique of mixing paints with this airbrush?
Life with Brock own one... it doesn’t work great with this model because of those two forks
If you change the spray regulator out for the one without the forks, first thing that I did works great
Even with the forks, it will work. Just get a piece of rag/cloth then pinch it between the forks. It will mix.
I live in the Netherlands and I cannot find it anywhere... :-( Any advice on where to get it? Thanks!

É bom ainda vai demorar pra eu ter um desse parabéns um lindo aerógrafo

+Cyrano Wang Just cover your tip with a damp cloth and spray- it will backflush as it can't get out the front!
that's because it is high Quality
really??? LOL

You need to learn how to reduce the paint properly.

By lubricant...what part needs it?? Or do you mean to say for diluting the paint w/o damaging the gun?
Wd-40
I wouldn't go near my airbrush with a can of WD-40. If your airbrush needs lubrication try using water soluble glycerin. Works like a charm!
These seem to be very hard to come by. Nobody seems to have stock. The Badger website doesn't indicate how one might go about purchasing one.
why is this airbrush impossible to buy?
Marneus?
