    Great Video! I am getting back into airbrushing and was looking for needles for my Thayer and Chandler, I discovered ALOT has changed, for one my old brush is no longer made. I am sure it will still work fine but I was drawn to these gravity feed brushes and Badger came up as the new owners of T&C. Anyway after reading some Amazon reviews I was starting to lean toward the Badger 105, Your video help me make the final decision. Great comparisons, I really needed to see what can be done with the airbrush and you demostrated and explained the differences very well. Thanks for doing this video, can't wait to get my Badger 105 tomorrow!

    Thanks for this amazing walkthrough. This made me order a Sotar 2020 and a 105 from amazon. Just can't wait till I get them.

    Another great brush is the 375 Cresendo. I've had mine for nearly 30 years and it's working as well today as the day I got it! One of it's features is a choice of 3 needle and tip options. I mainly build models and use mostly solvent based paints and the only sign of wear is the plating is starting to chip where the bottle plugs into the body. I'm starting to get into illustration and I think the Krome and Sotar will be my weapons! If there anything like my other badgers, I'll have to will them!

    Very cool. I had not actually laid eyes on the 360 until now. Looks pretty handy.

  • @ichibanpainting
    @ichibanpainting  Před 11 lety

    its actually really worth it if you do batch painting the versatility of it is really impressive and it works just like a 105 which is an awesome brush!

  • @WGConsortium
    @WGConsortium Před 11 lety

    That's what I do Hugo. Use the 105 (or the Omni) for heavy batch work and I switch to the Krome or Sotar for detail work. Since you go the Quick Disconnect on all of them (you should) it makes it so easy to do.

    @RustyDice Před 11 lety

    Just purchased the Sotar 2020. I got it here in the UK for about £150GBP/ $225USD which is basically my hobby budget for the next 5 months totally blown. Waiting for it to arrive now, can't wait! I'm gonna try out some of the schemes I've seen on your tutorials. Totally excited about it. Thanks for your advice and all!

    Interesting. When you're taking apart the first badger, it reminds me of my harder & steenbeck infintiy I picked up a while ago in terms of components. I might have to give badger a go some time in the future.

    Based on this review I picked up the Badger Krome and the 105. Thanks because I love them both. Isn't the krome a lot like the soltar?

    • @spencerkearney6077
      @spencerkearney6077 Před 7 lety

      The Kreme falls between the 105 and the Sotar, taking the best of both. with a set of needles, someone who can only own one will be able to shoot the background, sketch, and detail with the same AB.

    Hugo...Thanks for the video review. I was originally going to purchase an IWATA HP-CS but I changed my mind after I watched your video. The 50% off promo was also a great. Thank you for that and if you happen to talk to Ken, let him know that he gained a customer. Keep up the good work man!

    See below post please. I have never airbrushed before and was wondering if I need anything else aside from paint. I plan to prime with Tamiya spray for better adherence and use mostly Vallejo Game and Air paints. Thinner? Cleaner? What else is a must for first timer? Thanks.

  • @WGConsortium
    @WGConsortium Před 11 lety

    I don't think that Badger would "out perform" H&S or Iwata for that fact. They are all great airbrushes, but you've used H&S longer then I ever had so you can probably make that assessment. The thing is all the companies out there, like Badger, have products that performs great. It's getting one that performs GREAT for you.

    @brandonthatruth I would recommend a regular home compressor like craftsman. At least one with a tank. California air tools have quiet compressors. 1650a model is what I have and use for helmets, PC cases and everything else

    I know that all high end airbrushes are almost all the same and that yes H&S are great brushes but im not fucking around saying that the badgers out perform them. The balance of the weight, the smoothness of the trigger and the atomization of the paint is amazingly superior.

    Think I'm going to go ahead abd order me a Patriot 105 and abandon my AZTEK for a while. Best deal I've found in UK is 102 GBP including 20% sales tax. Krome is 150GBP. Anyone know a better deal? Pointer welcome.

  • @ichibanpainting
    @ichibanpainting  Před 11 lety

    Pleasure bro!
    Really easy ive used all the above and there's no problems with these paint although GW is the only one I would say that runs really poorly and badly in an airbrush. But you'll need to thin all those paints down to Airbrush them properly.
    For Airbrushing I use mainly the new badger minitaire paint line its airbrush specific just like the Vallejo model air range which is also a good option. Check my channel i have a review of those paint up
    thx for watching and asking mate

    My Renegade Velocity was defective on arrival. Badger's warranty doesn't cover shipping either way(they charge $8 for the return trip). The customer service is just plain bad, I've been waiting 12 days for an actual response promised by their form email. I will not buy another one of their products.
    Also, an FYI Badger uses different fittings on the airbrushes(although my Renegade came with an adapter).

    the heads to fat on all of them including the sotar for fine art airbrushing. A cheap iwata revolution has a smaller head....Iwata micron will always be gods airbrush until someone makes a smaller head assembly diameter with needle tip than the micron

  • @PHeMoX
    @PHeMoX Před 7 lety

    I'm sorry, but most Badger brushes are performing less than the H&S Infinity. Especially the 105 does not come close to the H&S Evolution or Infinity and it's roughly the same cost of an Evolution CR plus these days. The SOTAR is also too expensive for the marginal difference to an Evolution (with usually over 100 bucks a difference) and I still think the trigger on the H&S Infinity is superior in design and usage. I'm going to say the SOTAR is actually useless for real fine art detail work. The Infinity with 0.15mm needle is best, even when it requires smart usage of paint to not get clogged. I'd get the Infinity 0.2mm any day of the week over a SOTAR; better deal. The SOTAR also is a b**** to clean too. The tiny nozzle will get lost. Honestly, the H&S Evolution has about the same performance to anyone not interested in really fine linework with an airbrush. For those interested in fine line work, I'd get the 0.15mm Harder & Steenbeck Infinity instead.

      No such thing as best airbrush, you need variety of airbrush for complete work. I am not digging the H&S knob adjust you have to adjust everytime you want to change size. Most guy who own both will more likely to pick the Krome or Sotar over the H&S for their work. Sound like you never own a Sotar or Krome because if you own all of them you wouldn't even see this comment.

    People keep complaining about their airbrush then go on CZcams and say their airbrush is better than other people's airbrush. If Leonardo Da Vinci waste that much time complaining about his art brush we wouldn't see any of his artwork today.

    I'm sorry, but badger does not approach the quality of an Iwata or a Harder, much less to make fine lines
