      @ursuss100 Před 7 lety +151

      Dumbledore wanted the hallows but realized he wasn't the rightful owner, and he made sure that Harry would ultimately control them.
      -He kept the Cloak after Lily and James' deaths, and gave it to Harry during his first year at Hogwarts.
      -He discovered Gaunt's Ring (which was in fact the Stone) and decided that Harry would inherit it after his death
      -and of course, he was the owner of the Elder Wand. Dumbledore was so badly hurt when he found the Stone that he would have died rapidly regardless, and he persuaded Snape to finish him off so that Voldemort won't get control of the Wand himself. But he let Draco disarm him (which Harry witnessed) just before that; Harry later beat Draco as well while escaping Malfoy Manor, thereby conquering control of the Elder wand himself.
      Also worth noting in that last case is that Draco, Harry's worst enemy at Hogwarts, basically helped him to beat Voldemort without even realizing. xD

    One of the single greatest scenes in the entire eight-film series occurs when Harry steps into Ollivander’s wand shop to buy his first wand. Fans of the book knew just how important this scene was, as Harry’s wand was the tool that would ultimately allow him to practice magic at Hogwarts, but they weren’t necessarily prepared for John Hurt’s master class in the role of Ollivander.
    In a single scene, he manages to encapsulate his character’s wisdom, sense of humor, and dark foreboding when he realizes that the perfect wand for Harry happens to be the brother of Voldemort’s. His monologue to Harry is now the stuff of legend, and when the actor passed away in 2017 at the age of 77, it became etched into the hearts of fans as the one he would be remembered by. Like Alan Rickman and Roger Lloyd Pack, Hurt passed away from pancreatic cancer.

Olivander also says his wand is decently pliable, probably indicating that it’s more flexible with ownership, unlike Bellatrixs wand that was unyielding and he warned to use carefully

    They should do a spinoff regarding wandlore to further understand Ollivander's line of how the wand chooses the wizard. All we know from this is that allegiances change when a wand's owner is defeated in battle but little is told on HOW the wand chooses the wizard the very first time. The scenario is complicated with Harry as it is quite possible that the wand didn't choose Harry for who he was but rather because he had been "marked" by its brother. Could anyone else have claimed Harry's holly/phoenix feather wand had he not been marked by Voldemort?
