How Many Cycles Does It Take To 100% Majora's Mask?

- The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask. That one Zelda game with an insanely pressurising time mechanic only allowing the player three days to progress as much as possible before having to reset the cycle back to day 1.
Have you ever thought how many cycles it would take to fully 100 percent the entirety of Majora's Mask? How many cycles is the minimum needed? I'm here to give that thought an answer.
This run easily beats the last video in terms of difficulity and has topped the craziest thing I've done in the Zelda franchise and I had a blast doing this challenge

Got a challenge idea? Let me know!
Play Majora's mask but you cant use a sword (you can use fierce deity) and if you do it well, do it in less and less cycles
or only attack with goron on land, zora in the water, and little olimar plant link in the land
Do all the side quests as fast as possible.
Only 17 likes let me make it 18
Ocarina of Time, but you can't get any hearts, red potions, milk or fairies, except if there are mandatory ones. Recovering health outside of dungeons is alright.
Every time I replay Majora’s Mask, on my final cycle, I try to complete almost every main quest and side quest so that the ending is actually canon. It’s actually such a cool experience racing against the clock in order to complete EVERYTHING and truly bring happiness to EVERYONE in Termina in just one cycle, using the knowledge I’ve gained from all past cycles.
This was the first time I tried it this way funnily enough! Makes the ending feel way more satisfying 😄
@@Smiffic you should try playing the game in citra with HD textures and the project restoration mod.
That is very adorable. Love it.
@@houraisheperd9721 it’s my favorite game of all time so the ending means a lot to me lol. I first played the game when I was Link’s age so I have great memories with it
@@Max-qb5ui this is the optimal way to play the game. That mod and texture pack is incredible.
Also my favorite game of all time.
Tbh I think that I optimized "as few cycles as possible" way better than this video...
You can actually beat snowfall without your sword to get the gilded sword in the same cycle you beat the temple. It's hard but it lets you get a LOT done in that cycle.
Idk. I didn't record my run so I don't have any hard numbers. But I beat this game in as few cycles as I ever have.
I think this guy could have gotten a lot more done in those early cycles if that's the goal. If the goal is a like a speed run and the corresponding time, then that's different. But if the goal is as few cycles as possible....idk I think my "route" was less cycles. I don't speed run this game but I have played the game enough times to know it literally inside and out.
The song of storms fills up the river, which spins the mill, which turns on the house’s music, which gets rid of the gibdos. The garos explain it to you if you fight them. Pretty sure the researcher there only got attacked by the gibdos in the first place cuz the river dried up.
Aaaahh that makes sense! I haven't spoken to a garo in such a long time now 😆
@@Smiffic
The scientist tells you about the music house's song, specifically composed to drive off Gibdos.
@@TheBanishedWind I won't lie to you I have never spoken to him 😆
@@Smifficlmao
Quite sad, truly
The Kafei quest was so memorable that it made me forget it wasn't the only one with mutually exclusive rewards. Poor old lady, she just unknowingly screwed you over
That darn old lady! 😆 felt great to finally do the Kafei/Anju quest some justice this time
Ngl, kind of happy to learn that you can go through this game with a 100% happy ending for everyone. I can't tell you how many times I laid awake at night as a child with thoughts of depression because I wasn't able to give everyone a happy ending in one single cycle.
MM is a depressing game when you really look at it, I didn't know you could do so much in one cycle until this video 😆
everyone but the deku butler
@@notwell3605 everyone but the people who have died and can't be revived, but you can give a happy ending for everyone you interact with. RIP Deku Kid though.
@@VirtuesOfSin poor lil guy
The fact that you put the Deku mask on just to walk backwards because you discovered this way it's faster than without the mask is awesome xD
It really saves so much time 😆 Totally forgot he's a speedy boy!
This is an idea I've had ever since I was introduced to Majora's mask when I was 9 years old. You can't just watch a TAS, or a regular speedrun, as those don't try to accomplish the same thing. This video is something I've waited a long time for, so thank you
And thank you for watching!
The speedrun is 4 cycles too though
Cramming in anything more on Day 1 than getting Epona’s Song makes Smiffic a legend.
BUT let’s not forget about the Guay at 20:31 - the unsung hero, the true embodiment of the little guy that comes outta nowhere to pull us up by our bootstraps in a dire situation. You are not forgotten.
That guay will always be spared from now on in future runs due to this 😆
So quick explanation on why playing the Song of Storms melts the Gibdos. It actually doesn’t. The song fills the spring in the cave, letting a river flow back down Ikana. This river powers a giant wheel strapped to the edge of the music box house Pamala and her dad (a paranormal researcher) live in. This causes the music box to start up, and the music IT makes drives off the Gibdos.
I won't lie to you I usually just get the mask and bolt out of there 😆 Makes total sense now though!
@@Smiffic Nother fun fact, those gibdos that we see sink into the ground are in similar locations (geographically) when you meet them in the well!
No chance the first cycle counts. It's definitely a tutorial cycle. I start counting cycles once you are able to turn into human Link. Great video. Really fun to see how quick this game can actually be done if you know where everything is.
Fully agree with you on the Deku cycle 😃Thank you for watching!
My thought for why it should count is the variable on if you get the bank reward during it, and iirc you can finish the Deku Scrub minigame during.
If you standardize doing or not doing these things during the tutorial, that seems off
there's things you can do or not do towards 100% in the Deku cycle, it counts.
@@keiyakinsyou could the bare minimum in getting the ocarinana as well but that would be boring. The 3x clock speed. Not being allowed to leave clock town. It pretty much being a tutorial, teaches you about collecting stray fairies, popping the balloons, teaches you about the bank and how rupees stored in there persist through a reset, about owl statues. I'd say really the only non tutorial thing there is the deku playground.
Well, whether it counts or not doesn't really change whether or not you can skip the second (or First Real) cycle, which is no, you can't skip it
You just have to be consistent whether or not the tutorial cycle counts when counting cycles required
Hello Smiffic. The part where you dropped the powder keg, it has happened to me a few times. My theory is there is a tiny gap and if you approach it at a certain angle the game acts as if you falling for a micro second and so its drops the keg. Though that's highly unfortunate the wolf was right there to blow it up, very unlucky.
That makes so much sense! I've never seen it happen before till then 😂
As a video game dev I can confirm this is mostly what's happening. You can actually see Link enter his "sliding" state for a few frames. as his feet hit the bridge. This clearly indicates that there is a gap; but it's not that Link "falls", he in fact starts sliding down the hill forcing the keg drop.
Yeah that’s been known to happen to speedrunners
That same spot will also mess up your goron spin.
Yeah on the replay you can see him slightly drop and right after drop the keg
35 minutes, this man kept me glued to the screen for 35 whole minutes. Excellent video, to the point editing and I enjoyed every single second of it. You've done it again, smiffic.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I know this may sound rude but your saying that you normally couldn't watch something for 35 minutes on a screen?
Dawg the reason why is because there was a cut every two seconds or so. The same amount of time they use for action scenes 😭😭
It's literally curated to keep your attention the whole time hahaha
Agree
I have things to do today, but I noticed this video, so I had to pause my arends for until I finished watching this.
same even with my adhd
Something I liked about the Gibdo Well minidungeon was that, aside from the Magic Beans and Blue Potion, you can get everything you need in the well itself. As such, it kind of blows my mind that it's faster to just leave the dungeon, go pick up a fish from the store, then go back into the dungeon than it is to pick up those items inside the well.
Being able to grab nearly all the items in the well has saved me in the past 🤣For max speed it's unfortunate that you have to leave to get the supplies, the well is a cool area!
yeah this blows my mind
Depending on what you happen to have on hand, you might be able to take a quick trip to a side room to grab that one thing you missed. Looking at the map tho, the requirement to get to fish under the well is a Blue Potion (or a Red one on 3DS), meaning it'd most likely be easier to just grab a fish elsewhere.
The editing for the getting heart pieces and masks part, it shows just how much content this game has to offer and I think it’s really amazing, great video btw!
Fully agree! MM is packed with a ton of content which you don't really see unless you're going for 100% and thank you so much for watching!
Here is a big time saving trick I found while doing exactly the same challenge 10 years ago. When fighting the aliens, you actually only have to shoot each of them ONCE in order to stop them from reaching the barn, as long as you wait for them to be extremely close to the barn. The reason for this is that they always respawn at their designated starting point, so shooting them multiple times won't push them further back. This means you have the leasure of leaving the ranch while they are advancing in order to accomplish other tasks in between. As long as you : 1) are present in Romani Ranch the minute the event start; 2) come back later in the night to shoot each of them once (the one coming from behind the house is the one you have to watch out for as he has the shortest path to the barn - once you learn the right timing, it's just a matter of coming back a few minutes before he enters the wall and triggers the failure cutscene); 3) are present in the ranch at the time the event ends. I don't remember the exact timing for each of these 3 steps, but what i DO remember is that I was able to grab a few heart pieces and complete the swamp spider house at the same time as I was "defending" the ranch from the aliens, carefully warping in and out at the appropriate times.
Interesting! Good to know for the future 😄!
Yes,
but anxiety
That first cycle was significantly more impressive than your 1 cycle completion.....I'm astounded. Good job, man.
Thank you! I was actually shocked on how much you can actually do in one cycle, makes the last one look like a joke 😆
For the Powder Keg exam, I usually like to throw the keg down to the left of the bridges, then pick it up and back walk toward the slope. This stops the Wolfos from being a factor, and it takes almost the same amount of time as walking across the bridges normally.
I'm so used to walking it on the bridges 😆 Good to know in future!
Just casually throw the person sized explosive around, it'll be fiiiiiiiiine
-Goron OSHA
Awesome video! I always FELT like that first cycle was faster, but I thought I was crazy - couldn’t believe it’s actually that much faster. Here’s a sub, sir
Thank you! My guess is that they didn't want you to get bored in Clock Town waiting to reach Skull Kid so it's sped up to keep things going
Majora's Mask is so... it's so frustrating, so fascinating, so janky, so rushed, so engaging, so unfair, so thought out, so fun, so frustrating, so nothing anybody asked for, and so perfect.
LMAO I love this description 😆
It's pretty great for being made in only a year.
Is basically the Zelda equivalent to Melee; Despite being made in one year and tons of captain crunch, it's quite difficult to really pinpoint how would you improve the game outside bugfixes and polish.
That's because those games have a clear focus and deliver quite well on it, so the fixes would NOT really improve the final product that much.
It's always the jank games that remain in our hearts. My most replayed from start to finish game is Jet Force Gemini. That game has a lot of fun "but why" design choices.
@DarkonFullPower that's just a lot of Nintendo design choices in general. Always been a company that does what they want no matter how difficult it may be...or desired by the fan base for that matter.
Playing the Song of Storms in the cave at Ikana Canyon causes the water to rise and river flow, therefore activating the water wheel which turns on the music box house. The song that plays is called "Farewell to Gibdos" which has the power to dispel the Gibdos surrounding the house.
I never actually knew that! Makes a ton of sense thinking about it 😃
@@Smiffic yeah Pamela’s dad tells you about the song when you talk to him again!
I'm just trying to confirm if you're a legitimate speedrunner of this game, because 100% Glitchless?! That's INSANE! Amazing content, my man!
Thank you so much! I'm not a speedrunner...yet 👀 I just like doing really silly challenges 😂
I haven't watched the video yet, I just want to weigh in on this matter pre-emptively. First off, simply because of elements related to the Couple's Mask Quest, you need at least three different cycles to get all masks and bottles. Everything else can be acquired in those three cycles. It takes foreknowledge to do this though, because you have to be aware not to stop Sakon from stealing the Big Bomb Bags until the third cycle, and instead in the first cycle you want to progress the Couple's Mask quest as far as possible, and in the second cycle you want to actually complete the Couple's Mask quest. You want to grab Kafei's letter to Madame Aroma both times, though what you choose to do with it in either cycle is up to you, so long as you get both rewards. Obviously the biggest part of 100% is the Heart Pieces. Speaking of, during the prologue cycle where you're stuck as Deku Link you should a few Heart Pieces, in particular the Deku Scrub Playground and the one from the toilet hand. Still, as I've said before, with proper time management everything can be gotten in the three cycles allotted by the need to deal with conditional shenanigans revolving around the Couple's Mask quest.
The Gerudo music is just an absolute bop. Thanks for setting the montage to it 😊
And thank you for watching! That was my favourite section to work on 😄
THIS WAS INSANELY COOL im honestly baffled at the planning and skill this requires, i could never
Thank you for watching! The planning was a group effort with the stream 😄
The editing in the middle especially with music part is amazing. It made me felt like I was with you and link on this journey, and it just has this unbelievable power to keep me here all the way till the end. Brilliant work! And thanks for exploring this game in various ways!
Thank you so much for watching! I had a blast editing the montage section so I'm glad you liked it 😄
It's being about 18 years that I 've being replaying the same 3 days trying to do all the quests and kill all the bosses in one same cycle, but there's always something that I miss or forget.
That Final Battle is very epic because you used the only mask in the game which has the power to defeat Majora's Mask, The Fierce Deity Mask. The Great Fairy sword maybe OP but The Fierce deity sword has more power than the Master Sword.
I don't personally count the Deku Cycle even though you can aquire 4 heart pieces, the first wallet and bomb bag on it.
I'm really impressed you got it in 3! I think I've only done it in 4 at minimum. (not counting Deku)
I dunno if I have the skill to pull off getting to Romani within the first 6 hours. I know MM like the back of my hand otherwise.
I think my issue would be the backflip in the Deku palace.
I'm on the same boat, I never really count the Deku cycle either 😄 That backflip I'm almost certain isn't needed to make it to Romani in time. I'm just used to doing it 😂 Give it a shot!
I have to just say how much I appreciate the Doom OST hitting the hard drop right as the Fierce Deity Mask screamed, it's the little things you've gotta appreciate.
Haha I'm glad you caught that! 😆
To put it into perspective, 2 in-game minutes on slowed time was about six seconds that you had left least time compared to the about a minute and a half you had left in this video. Very impressive time save.
Thank you!
You doing this while i am still trying to goron roll up snowhead while not falling off
That roll up the spire is tricky! I still fall off from time to time
Yasssssaa. I made a comment about how much can be done in one cycle. You replied to my message and I have been waiting for this. I am sooooooo happy!!!!
I hope the wait was worth it! Had a blast with this video 😄
Time. It's time to like and comment so algorithm-senpai will notice video-chan.
Oh and happy birthday Smiffic
Hopefully algorithm likes us again 🙏
Instead of that Fifth Bottle, I would have given the mail to the Mailman to get the mask from him, since you only need four bottles at once in the Zora Egg quest, and you don't need to do the maze under the well again.
I think one of my favorite moments is the lead up to Kafei stepping on the button lol
Editing to add, another favorite is the musical montage
I'm glad you liked the montage! That was my favourite part to work on
The long awaited sequel is finally here!
Also happy birthday Smiffic :)
It's fiiiiinally out
If I understand correctly, you did what I always questioned if it was possible since I was a child. Since going back in time resets these kind deeds you do for the NPCs, I wondered if it was possible to beat the game and all side quests in one cycle. Again, I might be misunderstanding, but it looks like on the last one you did it all! That was amazing and something I always hoped was possible
You're correct! I figured since I didn't have much to do for the final cycle I'd at least try help as many people as possible 😄
Great point about the Bomb Granny, she needs to be saved twice and the entire Anju-Kafei questline completed twice all because of the Priority Mail!
That darn mail caused so many issues 😂
So there's no way to only save her once? Get the Bomb mask and the All-night mask on the same cycle?
@ajbXYZcool you can, but for a 100% run what happens is you need to give the priority mail to the Postman AND Madame Dotour. If you give it to the Postman you get his hat, but Madame won't give you anything. And vice versa, Madame will give you a new bottle but the Postman is stuck in his room as a result
@@donq4483 I think there's a misunderstanding. Yes, you have to run Anju/Kafei twice, but getting the Priority Mail requires you NOT save the Bomb Granny. So you have to NOT save her twice in the 100% run. You only actually have to save her once, to both get the Blast Mask and the All-Night Mask.
@@ajbXYZcool Basically, you save her once, and let her get mugged twice.
Saved = Bomb Mask and access to All Night Mask on the Final Night
Mugged Once = Priority Mail to Mama Detour to get a Bottle of Chateau Romani
Mugged Twice = Priority Mail to give to Postman to get the Postman's Hat
So realistically it takes three cycles to complete get 100 percent.
This run is insane to me, Majora's Mask always feels like it needs dozens of cycles to 100%
Can totally see that! It really does have a lot of do 😄
I feel like I've done some more casual completion runs where I aim for 6 to 8 cycles, maybe 10 if I'm really taking my time. 3 is fast, but only slightly beyond expectations.
This video is an absolute joy to watch! Majora’s Mask content will always get me watching and stuff like this just blows my mind because it shows how incredible this game is!! I watched your previous MM video and that one was dope too! With how the game works, it almost feels like an open world game sometimes, like you can do so many things, or you can just do the main story items & equipment, it’s fully up to the player to make it their own unique experience and I love that about the game. Like obviously it’s not open world but it definitely has a lot of choice depending on how much you do, which gives me a similar feeling to open world games!
Totally agree! MM feels a lot more open compared to OoT, really lets you explore the game anyway you want as long as you get the required gear first 😄
The thing I love the most about this run is that you always have something to do, whereas going a quest at a time there's a lot of dead time just waiting for things to happen
The constant back and fourth honestly has became my favourite way of playing vanilla MM 😄
What a joy of a video to watch! Great job with it! Also I really liked your music choices throughout the video. It really added to the intended atmosphere.
Thank you for watching!!
Yessss!!!! I’ve been waiting for this since the first video dropped!!
I loved every second of it. The djenty riff at the end caught me off guard and it was great!! You killed it my man 😎
Words can not describe how much I enjoyed this video. The skill you have, knowing the routes, planning the cycles, and especially that Montage of collecting items toward the end of the video. Great job man.
Have been ready for another Majora video and super excited for this one since the teaser. Love it!
Thank you so much! I hope the wait was worth it 😃
I've always wanted to figure this out, so thanks for doing it! Interesting how in the end the combination of the Kafei quest and the Bomb Mask lady forces you into playing SoT three times. As a result, I think that means this really doesn't have to be so tightly routed, but I still appreciate you trying to do that Max% day, since that's also always been a question of mine.
I would have gone for the Postman cap rather than the extra bottle in the Max% cycle, but since you can't get the All Night Mask and Priority Mail in the same cycle anyway, there's unfortunately no way to do All Masks in one cycle.
Thank you for watching! Yeah you can do this at a much more relaxed pace, I really wanted to take what was done in the last video and smash it 😆 Postman's hat though is definitely the right play for max% too!
I had a burning question of Majora's Mask and being able to beat everything, like sidequests and the dungeon, all in one cycle. I am so glad I found this video because you answered two questions. Mine, and everyone else's curiosity. Cannot wait to watch this video over and over for the years to come! :P
Your narration is especially entertaining. Kept my attention through the entire video, now playing it again to fall asleep to with your relaxing voice and perfect music balancing! This channel is a gem, thank you for all that you do :)
And thank you for watching!!
Damn, that second cycle montage is masterfully edited.
That must've taken longer than the run itself.
Honestly the video got delayed a fair bit due to trying to find the right track for it 😆
Literally just discovered your channel and your other Majora video, and then this released right when I finished the other video. Perfect timing?
Welcome to world of Smiffic! I hope you'll have a good time here
Perfect timing indeed! Thank you so much for watching the videos 😃
First off, I just wanted to say I LOVE this content! I have played through MM so many times (100%, as little upgrades as possible, etc) and I was always so upset about the bomb bag grandma. I want to save everyone in that on three day cycle but it turns out that the old lady HAS to be mugged if you are to unite Anju and Kafei. Part of the reason I love MM because there are always two sides to everything, you can't do it all in one go. Again, awesome content
Thank you so much for watching! that darn old lady always finds a way to cause issues huh 😆
I've only played this game once, and it was many years ago, before youtube guide speedrun videos, so I don't remember most of the story lines, quests, map layout, dungeon strategies, etc. But I remember how much I enjoyed the experience. I've been feeling nostalgic lately. (Because being an "old man" in modern society kinda sucks, and I just want to pretend to be a kid again for a few days.) So your videos are definitely inspiring me to go dig my N64 and Nintendo Power game guide magazines out of the box in my closet soon. I'm hoping I can introduce the wifey to the game, and get her to love the experience as much as I did/will.
I am soo happy with my brand new setup and the first thing I do is see the newest Smiffic video (love your stuff!!!!)
Thank you so much!
This game's mechanics are just awesome and the fact you can do all of this in only a few cycles is crazy! Really good video, I had a great watch ❤
I'm glad you liked it!
This was an absolutely great video. The editing was amazing and I was intrigued throughout the whole video. I love it and will tune in for more videos
Thank you so much for watching!
i'd love to see the look of horror on the Happy Mask Salesman's face when he says he'll be leaving in three day only to have this kid he just helped say "see you in eleven hours" put the cursed mask back on immediately as he skips backwards through the door into clock town. The Happy Mask Salesman only hears prize bells and the sound of logs being cleft in twain echoing in the distance both seven minutes apart.
😆!
This was an absolute joy to watch!! Amazing work!!! 🎉🎉🎉
I'm glad you liked it! Thank you for watching 😄
Hydration was key in the run and in the editing. Great job! Happy Birthday.
Thanks so much! 😊

Really cool to see how much can be done in the first cycle with some dedicated timekeeping! Keep up the good work!
Ayy thank you Coop!
Wow mate!! Even though i never played this zelda game i must say your explanation and experience is truly mindblowing!! Very very inspirational smiffic!!

34 minutes and 23 seconds, this man kept me glued to the screen for 34 whole minutes and 23 seconds. Excellent video, to the point editing and enjoyed every single second of it. You've done it again, smiffic.
Thank you for watching!
The Music Box House is made to keep the Gibdos at bay. When you play the Song of Storms, you cause the river to flow again. When the river flows, the Music Box House's waterwheel spins, and starts it's anti-Gibdo sounds.
Makes sense! Never really looked too hard into why it works 😆
As someone who already knew the answer to this title question, I'm glad to see you cram everything into the 2nd cycle instead of using all the time you would've had available. Way more interesting to see just how much you can pack into that.
32:41 played him like a dam fitle
Doom music is too good 😆
Your videos are great! Thanks for working on and sharing this!
I'm glad you like them and thank you!!
I watched both of your MM cycles videos back to back in awe. You're making me want to re-play the game and I played it last month! Also, the first Deku cycle is absolutely a tutorial. I think counting that as your actual first is a different challenge.
Highly recommend a re-play if you haven't already! MM is always a great time 😄

Ayy thank you! I've got some real dumb ideas for the future 😆
Hey man really loved both zelda Majora’s Mask videos really cool challenges. Keep up the good work fam
It seemes that you lost the keg because goron link slided befor you entered the bridge. My best guess is that somehow there is a slight steppable area for sliding down the hill before entering the bridge.
That would make so much sense! In all my time playing I've never had that happen before 😆
It's always amazing to me how much you can skip in the game.
I guess I never really considered that some people might get the item but not finish the temple in time and have to reset, and go explore.
It's neat how much MM allows you to basically play how you want 😃
Oot can get pretty nuts with this, to the point that I feel like it's how every Zelda game should be intentionally designed.
Jabu Jabu can be done before Dodongo's Cavern as long as you grab the bomb bag. The Forest, Fire, and Water temples can technically be done in any order (though the bow is needed for optional stuff). Finally the Spirit Temple can be finished once the Forest Temple is completed and you have the Longshot.
So you could go Deku Tree > Jabu Jabu > Dodongo's Cavern > Water Temple > Forest Temple > Spirit Temple > Fire Temple > Shadow Temple > Ganon's Castle
Just finished work and saw this in my notifications and ive never been more excited haha great vid man
Haha thank you so much for watching!
This video is really interesting to me because it uses a completely different route from the 100% glitchless speedrun which also clears the game in 4 cycles. For instance, the speedrun defeats Goht to unfreeze biggorn and get the power keg for Romani Ranch. I think this makes your video even more impressive for using a route that manages to clear the game in the same number of cycles as top runners!
This video was really good makes me want to play Majora Mask again. Also the part were you drop the bomb was because there was a vary tiny gap and at some angles when you hit that gap you start sliding down the slope for a few frames which is enough for link to drop the bomb
That makes so much sense! In all my time playing I've never seen that happen. Thank you for watching!
Woo! Can't wait
I hope the wait was worth it! 😄
Yooo! So happy to see another MM video from you! Your previous one is how I found your channel, and it led me to subbing! Super excited to chill and give this a watch, because your stuff is super well done and comfy!
Appreciate you for subbing and watching!! Thank you for the kind words 😄
I remember trying something like this as a kid back in the day and getting annoyed one can't listen to Granny's second story in the same cycle you complete both the Anju/Kafei and the Romani/Cremia sidequests.
In the end, I also picked the least unhappy final timeline with minimal cycles and completed Anju and Kafei's sidequest, helped Romani with the aliens, and listen to Granny's story on the second night. This meant I had to let the Old Lady get robbed on the first night, and let Cremia's cargo get vandalized on the second night.
Either the game wanted my kid self to understand that one can't save everyone even with time travel on your side, or just strongly advice me against letting ladies transport valuable stuff alone at night.
That darn granny ruining everything 😆
a trick i think he missed:
wearing the Stone Mask in the Gerudo Hideout lets you simply run past the guards without shooting any of them!
well, except the mini-bosses guarding the other 3 eggs. "that mask doesn't fool us!"
I'm so used to not having stone mask haha
I already love that this is glitch less
For a glitched answer: 1 cycle, 2 at most, we have so many glicthes that screw with time and the cycle wothout resetting that you can do it all in one go, i think
Looking forward to your hijinks!
I think I've honestly had more fun playing MM glitchless then with glitches at this point 😃 You're right though you can do some crazy stuff with time in this game
I'm a huge fan of your three day run :D this was a joy to watch too!
Literally had me glued to the screen for the full video, great job 💪
Appreciate you for watching!
Your last two videos are phenomenal, they are 35 min but are so well made that go by like a breeze
That's the result I like to hear! Thank you for watching them both!
@@Smiffic can we have the full run?
@@revanknight3202 Full run will be up soon on the VOD channel 😄 Just gotta put it all together
heck yeah!! worth the wait, good to see, man!
next could you try to 100% or speedrun Minish Cap, the obvious best 2d zelda game?
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I uhh haven't actually played Minish Cap fully yet 😂 It's been on the to do list for so long now
@@Smiffic i see lol. I had it on my virtual console via wii when the shop was still up for about 6 or so years, i just beat it about 2 months ago when i got it on my ds lite, so i feel yuh.
3:00 im glad I'm not the only one who makes this joke!
I play this game religiously every year and do challenge runs and I've done ones similar to this and only ever did up to 3 temples before going to the 2nd cycle the fact that you did all 4 temples and that you could beat stone tower like that I learned something new today. Great Video
The stone tower skip is a life saver! It's helped me a ton of times in randomizer too 😄Thank you for watching!
@Smiffic oh I definitely try those tricks on Stone Tower on my next run of the game. Looking forward to the next video 👍
This is amazing! Great job!
Thank you so much!
I love these videos it makes me smile when u upload
Thank you so much for watching! I hope the wait was worth it 😄
BRO, first off this was amazing! Fantastic video! Also, this made me realize how much I had forgotten about Majora’s Mask and why I loved it so much as a kid! ❤❤❤❤❤ thank you!
The first Deku cycle definitely counts, because you can get way more stuff done when glitches are involved.
Oh true! I had every fibre in me trying to break out of clock town early at that cycle LMAO
I feel the first Deku cycle shouldn't be counted- you have no real choice but to stay contained in Clock Town where you really can't do all that much to progress in game. Most of it is just waiting out the clock
Fully agree!
I wondered what the most you can do in a single cycle is, I guess this video showed what that is
We got very close to max% with this attempt 😄Missed 2 masks I believe
As if the previous one cycle run wasn't enough, now you do it all over again plus the extra goodies and avoiding the glitch in Great Bay Temple. My jaw is on the floor once again!
This was the redemption arc to fix the great bay issue from the last video 😆
Nice job, man! My personal best is 100% in 4 cycles plus Deku, but my route was more optimized for minimizing backtracking than making a beeline for Epona. Cycle 1 Epona...wow! I also didn't use optimized movement like the Zora jump or the Deku backpedal. I am also very bad at the Odolwa and Gyorg boss fights. Especially Odolwa. I make a point not to set foot in Woodfall Temple before I have at least 5 hearts because I'm just that bad. xD
I did have a solid chunk of that fourth cycle to diddle around and do whatever once I had the Town Shooting heart piece. My second best attempt at a five cycle (or Deku +4 full cycle) run, that heart piece killed my entire run. I don't use that controller anymore xD
I'm honestly proud of myself for being only about half a cycle behind you. Kudos again on a job well done!
crazy challenge and awesome video well done
Glad you enjoyed it
New video HYPE!!
It's finally out!
30:30 You doesn't need to get the old woman from the Bomb Shop mugged. You can buy the big bomb bag in the Bomb Shop for 90 rupees on Day 2 after saving her. Otherwise, great video!
This is true! I had the biggest bomb bag by the end of the first main cycle, main point was that she's tied to the All-Night Mask 😄 Thank you for watching!
I've honestly never played this game before but still sat through the whole video with my eyes glued to the screen lmao, great video!
Thank you so much for watching!
