Hi sweet person. I saw your video and ordered the part off e-bay. I'm an older woman, and was nervous about my ability to do this. I literally also took a butter knife, and completed the replacement in less than a minute. It really is that easy! Thank you so much from March 2021!!!!!
Yep, it sucks. I had to do it the other day on my CR-V as I was replacing the outer window chrome trim piece, and on my car you have to remove the mirror assembly in order to get that off. I also noticed that the mirror was not installed properly and I believe that to have been part of the culprit of my wind noise so I was able to fix that as well and so far so good. I'll give it a few weeks before I completely dismiss it, but so far I haven't noticed anything yet.
Thanks so much! We first tried to muscle it out and further cracked it. After watching your video, we replaced it in a couple of minutes. I love the way people are willing to share their knowledge to help those of us who are “mechanically challenged.”
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!! Was afraid to do this per the new mirror's instruction sheet, but the way you showed it was perfect.....and table knife works much better than a screwdriver anyway!!!!
wow, thank you so much for this and explaining it so well!! you showing where the glass pops off helped me not only know how to remove it, but also know which mirror to order!! saved $350 :] thank you !
i bought the replacement mirror but thought it would be too difficult to install--when i saw your video i knew i could do it--it took about 3 minutes Thanks for the confidence boost
Thanks Hieu -- Just a quick point. You mentioned that it was a "rear view" mirror which is a clearly a side view mirror on the Drivers Side. But I assume the passenger side view mirror will be the same exact process. I ordered my part for $17.99 for a 2014 CRV and thanks to you, it will save me a lot of time. So thank you!!! No Glue Necessary as indicated by several professionals, not realizing when you buy just the mirror, it comes with the plastic insert "backing". Excellent job and thank you for sharing. BOSS!!!
This video was a great help. I bought a Burco replacement glass from Amazon for my 2011 Honda CR-V, unheated mirror, driver side. A perfect fit, but I came close to breaking the new glass on re-install. First, you could pry out the old glass and pop in the new without any disassembly. But I was worried about the plastic lip around the glass edge, there was a risk of breaking or misaligning the new glass while trying to squeeze it under that lip. It is cold weather outside and all the plastic feels brittle. So I popped out the mirror-plus-backing-plate, as in this video. I brought that inside, removed old glass, and soaked the black plastic backing plate in near boiling water. Then the new glass popped in under that lip without much stress on plastic or glass. But snapping that assembly back on the mirror mounting plate in the car was not easy. The two upper hinge-hooks go in easy, but I couldn’t snap the 2 lower plastic clips in place even though I put a lot of pressure on the mirror face. I was pushing very hard with fingertips. Maybe a sharp blow with fist would work, but that seemed risky. So I used a hair dryer to get the black plastic clips very hot and more flexible, then the two clips popped in much more easily. Thank you for the video.
Honestly it looks like his is still hanging and not fully clipped on the bottom so I've been looking for an explanation on how to complete the bottom snap on🙃
Thank you! I used this video to change my cracked mirror. The dealer quoted $75 to change it. Plus $55 for the mirror. I picked up OEM on eBay for $35. The non-oem versions are $12 but don’t have the extended wide view angle at the end of the mirror which is important to us.
What year is your CRV? I am actually one that doesn't like the distorted wide angle view and line on the mirror. Is yours heated mirror...does it still work as heated? I have a 2015 EX. Please let me know. Thanks
Thanks for this video. Just took care of the side view mirror on my 2009 CR-V in less than two minutes, thanks to you. I thought about using a butter knife in honor of you but I actually had a flathead available so I went with it.
Hi , my Honda CR-V's side mirror at the passenger seat keeps making a kinda like motor noise after I pushed the button which keeps the side mirror in. Any ideas how should I fix this ? Thanks
I have the similar situation but on the passenger area. How would i know if it will exactly fit my 2012. What company brand in amazon did you order from. Thanks
Ur kidding me. It is that easy? Lol! As long as I have the plastic parts in one piece, all I need is a new mirror. Like, Wow! Thanks man! Good to know.
hmm, bought a new mirror and it didn't include the metal male part that the electrical connector goes on to! Looks like the old mirror has it stuck on with putty but hard to get off quickly. I might have to smash the old mirror to get it off.
It is 4th Gen. I paused it at 0:18 and you can see the secondary above screen and thin hazard light button. I didn't break my mirror, I just hate the line and blind spot convex mirror so I want to replace it, but mine is a 2015 EX with heated mirrors. I wonder if a non-oem will still heat?

Hey, man! Thanks for posting this. Just replaced the mirror glass on my wife's 2013 CRV. Without your video I would not have known how to do it!

Good vid on replacing the mirror but the housing of the mirror looks like it went through a blender.
hmm, bought a new mirror and it didn't include the metal male part that the electrical connector goes on to! Looks like the old mirror has it stuck on with putty but hard to get off quickly. I might have to smash the old mirror to get it off.

Can you tell us what year CR-V this was for?
i bet that was 4th gen crv
It is 4th Gen. I paused it at 0:18 and you can see the secondary above screen and thin hazard light button. I didn't break my mirror, I just hate the line and blind spot convex mirror so I want to replace it, but mine is a 2015 EX with heated mirrors. I wonder if a non-oem will still heat?
@@canadude6401 If you haven't bought the glass yet they sell it for the heated mirror version of the car.
@@pault4004 who sells it? Honda? Did you successfully buy a heated mirror version that doesn't have the line? What year is yours?
Ahh yes the old butter knife McGiver fix
Where did you buy the mirror?
Amazon or an auto parts store

Radhxbo Tawhid if it's heated you have to heat up an adhesive first
