It’s a reasonable assumption. If you cause damage by accident, and you pay for the damage without prompting, it normally doesn’t rise to formal charges. That said, it sounds like there was more involved in this case.

And then, just like any other day, he gets to go home and upload a video of himself to further fuel his delusions. Sending them to county for contempt will actually make a difference.

54$ fine for driving with no insurance???? WTF? Where I live, driving with no insurance carries a $5000 fine! And driving privileges suspended??? He is going to drive anyway! His car should be impounded until he can show proof of valid insurance !
The court costs were another 70-some dollars, if this is his first offense it makes sense that it's a slap on the wrist. Unfortunately I doubt he'll learn from it.
You're lucky where i live you get a 5000$ fine just for switching insurance... if their records don't record them correctly and show a gap of insurance of even a day.

I need to go on a rant here: No where in the Sixth Amendment of the US Constitution state "a jury of your peers", that is an idea that dates back to the Magna Carta and means that nobles will be tried by fellow nobles and not the king. In US Law the Sixth Amendment means a jury of your fellow citizens. In a practical sense, where do you expect to get a jury of fellow SovCitidiots? Or, in other types of cases? A jury of fellow serial killers? Or fellow arsonists?, Or fellow corporate embezzlers?
I love how these idiots always say that they choose not to contract with the government. But have no problem forcing this victim to contract with them.
They also love taking welfare and food stamps... from the same govt they despise...
And all the other “contracts” they likely have with governments, companies, and individuals, explicit and implicit: income tax and other paycheck withdrawals, credit cards, paper currency, the banking system, government benefits, airport security, health insurance, property and sales taxes, public schools, mortgages, car loans, etc. SovCits are consistently (and conveniently) inconsistent, some might say hypocritical.

I saw on sovcit in court being obnoxious about the "I was travelling, not driving". The judge finally told him to give his version of what happened, and he started off with "I was driving down 5th avenue when....." and the judge said "Okay, we've established you were in fact driving then".
He should have asked the judge for his name and badge number!

There’s a spectrum of reasons as to why people pull this pseudo legal nonsense - a major universal truth is to avoid any accountability for their own actions. Some do it as a malingering tactic, most do it to annoy and frustrate the court proceedings in order to get the case dismissed, some just buy the script from an ex con ‘legal guru’ hoping it’ll work, some are fully brainwashed, all of them believe they are superior to everything and everyone, most want to create chaos and live as outlaws. Most have oppositional defiance issues, narcissism, are sociopaths- bottom line, the government classes their movement as a terroristic one. They are a danger to society. Just for future reference, the state attorney isn't cross-examining the chief of police, as it is his witness. He is performing the direct examination of the witness.

It’s quite a bit of semantics, but I think the order goes:
Atty/witness - direct exam
Opp Atty/witness - cross exam
(Then if needed)
Atty/witness - re direct
Opp Atty/witness - re cross
I was thinking the same thing.
Plus the rules for the questions are different for direct and cross.
For instance direct examination shouldn't contain leading questions but instead be questions whose answers are usually in a narrative, or basic questions to build a foundation
whereas for cross-examination leading questions are the expectation. Usually in the form of yes or no questions.
Not to mention redirects and recrosses are limited to the scope of what preceded them. If they didn’t you could spend days or weeks stuck on the testimony of the same witness.

I want to know how they plan to repay someone in a fatal accident or one where injuries are very serious and medical bills are in range of $100,000 plus and the individual is permanently handicapped because of the accident.
In this case since God is his attorney I would suspect that God is also his bank and will make any injured parties “whole“ in the afterlife
Pretty easy answer, they wouldn’t. They’d also act just like this or worse in any hearing or trial for it and try to argue that, because the injured party can’t be there since they are in a coma, that means they ‘can’t face their accuser’ and demand that the charges be dropped. That sounds outlandish but, Daryl Brooks did this at his trial after intentionally driving through a parade of people, killing I believe six or seven of them and seriously injuring dozens. If you haven’t watched that trial, I’d warn you to either skip it or be prepared to feel severely nauseous, the angriest and the saddest you’ve felt in a long while.
They claim to have a secret billion dollar account funded by the government. I guess they have a special magic spell to gain access. 😮

Nah, that was a useful maneuver for a while, but now SovCits exploit it as a delay tactic. Better to roll on with the trial.
One single instance of him claiming he can’t understand something isn’t enough to require a legal mental health assessment, or further assessment of his ability to represent himself. They need to display a pattern of behaviour.

The camera wasn't necessarily visible to to judge. It may have been a Bluetooth cam recording to his phone. There are a ton of "hidden cameras" that can be purchased fairly inexpensively

So after 30 min of the state providing evidence, and 0 minutes of the man providing no defence or counter-argument, the brilliant closing remark was - "Is the burden of proof on me to prove I am not guilty, or is the burden of proof on the state to prove that I am guilty". I’m in total disbelief! What kind of deterrent to driving without insurance is a fine of less than $60? It almost makes driving uninsured attractive, as insurance would certainly cost much more. The judge seems to have gone out of his way to ensure he didn’t ruffle this sov. citizen. Also, for wasting the courts time there should have been some kind of financial penalty. Herein Canada (Alberta specifically) a driving without insurance conviction results in a minimum $2500 fine for the first conviction and a minimum $5000 for any subsequent conviction. Maximum fines are $10,000 and $20,000 respectively. You can also be imprisoned for 6 months for both first and second convictions, and your license can be suspended. Along with that the rate to insure your vehicle also rises substantially.
I thought the same thing, but then the judge also suspended the defendant's license for 30 days. Most people (but not SovCits, of course) would probably consider that a severe enough penalty to try to keep their car insured.
Having no insurance means you can be sued if you cause an accident and injure someone. It could cost you everything you own.
