Eric Seith does a great job on shocks, that's for sure! That's where I take mine too.
Yes, he does. Been going to his since we were young. You must be in our area.
Thanks for watching.
Every year we rebuild our shocks lucky for me my buddy no how to do it and has all the tools makes it easy
Nice! If we had the equipment and knowledge we'd do the same. That's great to know that you're starting off every season with fresh shocks. This year I had to bring my sled to a new shop and have them pulled, rebuilt and put back in because smart shox are more involved and I didn't want to mess anything up.
Thanks for watching John.
Funny thing that we started CZcams with old sleds and showing how to fix them now we all have new sleds ! Guess we got tired of the old stuff ! :D
Yes. We've been doing this a long time now. I wouldn't be riding and making videos today had I still only had my 2000 mxz 700. New sleds changed the game for me.
Thanks for watching buddy. Hope you are doing well.
Garage projects with the boys are allways good times
Absolutely! I had to cut out a ton of footage that was also funny because the video was just getting too long for what we were doing. I contemplated making a long and short version video but just settled in the middle at about 30 minutes. If we get any local riding this season we need to meet up and ride together. Do you ride with Terry at all?
@Paisteboy I keep my renegade up at tug all season but I keep 1200 at home for riding around here but have not ridden at home in 2 seasons if we get snow we definitely hook up think snow buddy
Ok. Cool. Same here. I didn't ride local at all last season. Keep in touch. We ride tug too.
Tom and his team are great and family run.
Good to hear. Thanks for watching Dave.
I removed my shocks with the skid still in the sled ,wasn't easy. You guys did it the best way with skud removed
Yeah. It can be done but it's too frustrating.
Thanks again for watching Jason.
Comedy Hour at its best got to have fun.
Thanks Paulie. There was a lot more but I had to cut some out because the video would have been an hour long.
Thanks for watching.
Hey fellas, another great video. Thanks for the shout out too. Glad you liked the name. Hoping to see you guys again up there this season. Until then, I’ll be watching the snow cams and you vids. Merry Christmas too!
Thanks. Yeah, same here. I'm hoping j6st after Christmas is rideable like last season. Let me know when you're there and we'll try to meet up.
Merry Christmas to you as well.
Great to see Zuke got a nice upgrade.. Can’t wait to see him out on the trail with that baby. 👍🏼 Take Care buddy. THINK SNOW ❄❄
Yeah. We're all happy for him. His carbides look good. Must have been replaced not long ago. Can't wait to get out and ride. I'm hoping it's as soon as just after Christmas like last season. Me you and Dennis and maybe the rest of the crew will join us this year. Let me know what you think buddy. Let it snow!!
@@Paisteboy It better start snowing now if we’re going to ride just after Christmas like last season.. THINK SNOW ❄❄
🤞❄❄❄
I just had the shocks rebuilt on my 2017 Blizzard. 20,500kms(I'm Canadian, Nova Scotia),first time servicing all 4 shocks.Guy that did them said they were not in bad shape considering the mileage. Just about to do the A arm bushings, first time as well. They also are not bad
That is beyond impressive!! You must be riding on the best trails available. Flat all of the time. Good for you. We obviously ride some bumpy and less than ideal trails some times so our rule of thumb is shock rebuild between 2000 to 3000 miles.
Thanks for watching Jason.
What engine in your 20 500 km blizzard. That is impressive mileage for needing shocks
@@holdenbreau7187 900ace na,my wife has the same on her 17' MXZ TNT,hers 20,800kms
@holdenbreau7187 most of our miles New Brunswick and Quebec Canada, along with Cape Breton Highlands Nova Scotia. Mostly great flat wide trails
@@jasonbrushett2005 are you going to nb for the 1000 mile challenge?
The rear skid bolt was tight because the skid was still tensioned and the loctite. If your interested in making your life easier than you release at least one or ideally both torsion springs before removing the skid bolts. You have to do that anyways to get the rear skid bolts back in so may as well do it while taking out the skid.
Thanks for the tip. Didn't know that. Took mine out the same way years ago to get the shocks rebuilt.
Thanks for watching.
Compression check is a definite part of your prep. Any newer 2 stroke should have a top end rebuild after 5k miles. The rings loosen up and I’ve blown 2 motors from that already. Even well cared for motors need a top end re build after 5k miles. Doesn’t matter the make or model.
You may be right as I am no engine expert by any stretch but my previous dealer told that people were just coming in to get new plugs on a 9000 mile e-tec 600. I guess it would be interesting to take a look at it and see what it looks like.
These etecs go 10k miles easily. I
Have 2010 600 etec that went 11k miles. Stator went out and blew one side. Other side still had 150 psi. Motor was very clean inside. Had 2016 blizzard 600 etec that sold with 8k miles with nothing done to it. Since 99 had 6 skidoos. One sled had bad rings from factory. Needed top end at 5500. One sled mag side blew. 70k miles on them and that’s only issues. Skidoo and rotax know how to build them.
Great observation Daredog. Thanks for watching.
Love the videos
Good luck Zuke from Ontario, CAN
Too warm to snowmobile up here
Let's go cold weather!
Cheers Dave
Thanks Dave. We're hoping to get out there before Christmas but will be disappointed if it's after that. I guess we have to play the hand that we're dealt. Let it snow!!
Fingers crossed! 🤞
Fun video 😂. That Polaris Sport though ❤❤❤ if Zuke is selling I’m interested!
Thanks man. I'll let him know.
You can still get the vespa DuPont slides just put some on my 2023 competition..very expensive though at 110 dollars a piece ..not for a set ..
Nice! I saw them on the Ski-Doo website yesterday. You're right. They are pretty expensive, but if you are going to keep the sled for a long time it's worth it to me. I wish I got them on my 22.
Thanks for watching.
I'm not sure , but normally there are 2 limit straps in the front, his only has one and it appears there is a place for the second one
Modern sleds even back when I had my 2016 Blizzard only have 1 limiter strap now. It is also common to have zip ties holding the strap together at the top as well.
Thanks for watching Rich.
Good stuff fellas…..
Be sure to change the carb boots in the 500SS (series 3 - 600).
Notorious for cracking & then leaning out the motor. Kaboom.
Thanks for the tip. That old 500ss is going to need some attention. Thanks for watching Mattie.
Do yourself a huge favor and check the intake boots on the Blizzard 600 as well. I have the same sled and mine were completely delaminated. I changed mine out to the Boyesen ones.
Ok. I'll mention that to Zuke.
Thanks.
Arctic Adventures sell Arctic Cats too. Not far from me.
Ok. Cool. I hear good things about them.
Thanks for watching Vic.
I guess I missed the video. So this is your brothers newest sled now ? When did he get that sled ? MarkBow
I put out the video last weekend but it was named as "what happened to Zuke's sled" since it died on the trail the final ride last season. He picked it up on the 3rd of July this past summer.
Thanks for checking Mark. Hope you're doing well.
They called it a 500 ss to help with ins. costs Rates on a 500 cheaper than a 600
That makes sense.
Thanks for watching Mark.
Great Video as usual. I found a great deal on a 101” x 10’ clam shell trailer- looks like your old trailer- Do you think a Polaris with a 128” track would fit?
Thanks for the great content
Thanks.
Nice find. That sled should fit as long as you don't have a tall windshield on it. My Blizzard fit in mine and it was a 129"
thanks bud, I'm going to grab it. It's a 2004 but the guy only used it to store sleds mint condition $1750@@Paisteboy
Sounds like a winner!! 👍
Great video. Where are you sending the shocks ?
Thanks Patrick. We have a friend locally that does shock rebuilds.
Are you gunna have it put together before the end of the season 😂. I think zuke needs to wear a hard hat to😂
Yes. We area putting it back in today. A hard hat could have helped.
Thanks for watching Stew.
@@Paisteboy looking forward to seeing all the videos from old forge 👍
Thanks Stew. Can't wait to start making riding videos again. I've put out every ride from last season at this point so it's on to the 2023-2024 season now. Bring on the snow!!! ❄❄❄
@@Paisteboy you doing a video of the instal with new shocks.?
Nice to see the whole gang hanging out and talking sleds.
Get everyone back for the re-install.
Yes. Zuke and I worked on it for a little while today but it was too late so we didn't finish it. Hoping to finish it up during the week so I can put it up next weekend. 👍
That’s my wrench 😂
Unfortunately it looks like I lost your wrench. I ordered this one online a couple of years ago when I thought I was going to take the scratchers off of the Blizzard. I'll probably find yours under my toolbox someday. Lol.
Duuuuke !! How ya been buddy !!😁
@@SometimeIsNow hi Greg! Hope you’re doing well, maybe get a ride in this winter
@@falden01 Doing well thanks..Hopefully get a ride in with you this season for sure.. 👍🏼
It's on it's way. I ordered you a new wrench yesterday. 👍
Zuke sounds like my post menopausal wife! “I’m hot! I’m hot! Did I mention I’m hot?”
Lol. He may be menopausal.
5500 miles? Time for a top end no??
Nah. A 600 e-tec like that won't need it til about 10,000 miles.
Thanks for watching Big D.
