After hearing about the 'sinkhole' incident recently over a beer at the pub I just knew I had to know more. This video is the result of that and is the first
in my new series "History or Mystery" where I investigate crazy events and places that may shock or surprise you.

Really enjoyed learning about this tragic but dramatic piece of NZ history. Today Waihi is a very safe and awesome place to visit, packed with history for the whole family. From guided mine tours to trail mine walks around town. While you're there make sure you check out the nearby Karangahake Gorge Mining trail.
