well before I bought this filter I did a lot of research on it and i ended up finding reviews that were either great or bad but i found more good reviews than bad reviews, as far as how its working i can honestly say its the best power filter i ever owned, it works amazing on my 55 gallon.i would highly recommend this power filter to anyone.
your dog's face in the background is killing me! He's so adorable!!!!!!
+Mayra Zavala haha yeah there silly curious little critters.
Works wonders!
That was actually really smart what you did with the bio wheel.
i know its awesome i love it! and thanks:)
Love the dogs
Great vid, like ur take on cichlid aquascaping, very girly!.....Im about to set up a 70 gallon tank and I'm trying to decide if I should go with this or with the Marineland 400
I love my AC110, take the grey insert basket thing. It's not needed at all. You can run the sponge, purigen, poly fill and bio max all in the box. Save the carbon for when needed. I run 2 on my 75 gallon.
I am here 8 years too late, but the basket is needed since it directs the impeller output down under the main sponge. If you take out the basket the impeller output will push water into the side of the main sponge and not to the bottom.
Hi! Great vid.. ya can also take a dry sponge or two and tuck it under the back against the glass to even it out instead of that spacer that falls out. ive seen it done works great, and i'm going to do it too!-- I just got a 110 today. thanks for the unboxing. I got mine used and it helps to make sure i have all the parts, and how to use it! can't wait to get it on the tank. Just cleaned it to near new status! -- Ya gained a follwer. awesome vid.!@
wow very detailed review. would you care to provide gap dimension for the rim size it will fit. also, do aquaclear have 220 volts model? tia
me too! i was rinceing it at first and i knew itd rince black water but it was all on my hands and with touching the other filter parts while cleaning i had black water splashs on my counter lol
Great video by the way you look great how much space do you need in between the wall and the tank for this filter?
That gravel looks nice
Wow these comments. Nice job. Excellent tip on seeding the filter with your bio-wheel.
Did you fix the media at the top?
sara i bought a used 110.but mine cane with a green sponge that looks like a tube goes in it.but the hole does not go all the way through ?????? i can`t figure out where it goes ? any ideas?
Will this filter fit on a rim that is 1 3/8 inch? It gets great reviews most every time.
like the red hair
Great info. Just got my AquaClear 110 and it's extremely noisy is that normal I hear the engine
My word isn't gold was just giving some advice from someone who's been running AC's for a long time. I find as do many others that they are louder with the lids on, there have been complaints on many forums about them rattling, I've also experienced this issue. IMO the basket is useless and isn't needed but I like to run an array of media in my AC's other then carbon. Chemi pure elite, purigen, poly fill, sponge and sometimes polishing pads. It's a great filter! Enjoy!!
I like these but the Fluval internal filters are really not good. I bought my Fluval U2 series in April and it was just going to be an extra filter for another tank i was going to purchase in the future Ever since i start using it have had nothing but problems with it and some of my friends are also. These are good i have one on another tank and no problems. Great video! Thanks for sharing it. :)
i have two of this filters on my 55. and my water is still not clear like yours. what do i have to do to make my water clear
Been thinking about gett ing the Aquaclear70 for my nano reef. Just for mechanical an chemical. Hows it working for you?
How much room do you have from the back of the tank to the wall?
Just wondering why you leave your media in the bag? It would spread and get more water and aeration when moving freely within the media area of the filter
+Lewis Coveney i dont, I've always kept it in the bag
good vid , the basket is so you only need to remove that when cleaning , not the whole filter from the back , and idk why he would say you dont need a lid , it helps alot with dust and stuff staying out of your fishtank , and i personaly dont run any carbon , i find its to risky since you cant ever tell when it needs to be changed , also not needed , i run a sponge , polyfill , and ceramic media , purigin is best if you want to spend the extra $
my only question is why didnt you let the marineland run side by side with the aqua clear??? that would allow you aqua clear to build up the beneficial bacteria and you wouldnt have had to take apart a perfectly good bio wheel.
Im personally a huge marineland filter fan as they have always done fantastic for me so im just curious
hello... I have the 110 and wanted to know from anyone. I tried removing the impeller pin and it will NOT budge.. anyone with similar prob? Suggestions?
thanks in advance
joe
I saw another review on the AC 110 and the guy said it was too heavy and bent the rim of his fish tank. I noticed u have the same 55 gallon marineland setup as me. Have u had that problem with the bending of ur rim? Please let me know. Really interested in that filter. Thank u
its a really great filter i high recommend it, i have had no damage with it yet. no bending of the rim or anything.
mine doesnt make any noise, and i like having lids on my filters
You have the bag for the ceramic rings too tight. The rings need to be under the water not just part of the bag... the bag doesn't need to be pulled tight on the media
Right, I agree with you. Was about to comment but you already ahead of me. lol!
still working well today ??
where did u get the reef??? that's really nice.
+Alecia Foote you can get the corals from petsmart
i know , it took like almost ten mins i had to cut down the clip,
Lol is everyone focused on her face rather than what she is doing? Lol good video, Sara. Now take it easy on yourself! Geez!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh red hair!!!!!
What are the dimensions?
LOL Your dogs stole the show, what your you talking about :-)
Is this filter good for 30 gallon tank.
More than enough, for a better filtration, aquaclear 50 is good, there is aquaclear 30 just for your 30 gallons acuarium, for regular filtration.
😂😂😂 what about the ceramic rings? Has to be under water xD
How do you like the Aquaclear 110? I wanted to get one
+Kevdawg30 its a great filter over all but over time it started making a sorta rattling noise by the motor. but maybe that could just be with my filter, either way its a great filter :)
+Sara's Cichlids hey thanks I did end up getting one for my fresh water tank and it works like a champ. Do you own any saltwater tanks
yeah i have that rattling noise too in my aquaclear 70. it gets very loud. must be a design issue
I like your hands
that AC110 is very nice. I have AC's in all my tanks. And no, you don't look like crap :) Nice video.
You don't need the basket or the lid. It rattles and makes too much noise.
Don't let the opinion of others affect the way you aquascape. Yes, it's not my style. Yes, they are freshwater but with coral ornaments. The truth is, the fish don't care. If you like it, then do it.
Those ceramic rings sitting outside of the flow are serving no purpose in your tank.
como desperdicia agua!!!
dam lemme hit dat
dat filtration iz so clean
I wanna wash ma sinz away in dat filter
grow up and learn english
Cichlids Rule
Wow dude I was just complimenting the filter.
Cichlids Rule eff up
Does ALL the water get forced through ALL layers of media ?
I've heard there is some water bypass with this design ...
People say some water flows over the media and entirely forced up through the sponge, then carbon, then bio media.
Can you shed any factual light on this. Don't like the idea of any bypass...
The bypass only works if your filter is very clogged up and needs cleaning. It's kinda handy too cause it tells you when to clean it. AC filters are the best.
you are gorgeous.
Stop being hard on yourself! Geez! You don't have to explain everything wrong nor correct yourself on stuff. And don't apologize! For what! Geez! Take it easy, Sara. And what's wrong with you coming out on the video? Nothing. I mean if you looked like all ugly and gross like me then I would understand, but you're pretty! So relax!
You are beautiful. Kiss kiss :)
Remove carbon
Your bio media needs be in the water
You wasted too much water
bet you t hey are all dead now
Next time speak English
