Fantastic review. Particularly love the history on the band at the start. Context is important. Really digging this album.

Blasted this album from a stormy winter day in Canada 🇨🇦 in the prairies. These guys are awesome I hope they get big and the credit that they deserve in music 🎵

I wasn't so hyped for this album based on the last album they released. the few songs they showed off before were also kinda mixed imo (STFU and heartbreak of the Century were good but the others didn't sound too great)
But when I heard it, I was actually impressed, glad it turned out good. We definitely deserve more good pop punk albums.

Love neck deep, great album. Not them specifically but in general I always thought that bands did self titled albums when they were out of ideas

Great review. Huge 90s pop punk influence on this album. Even some skate punk flavors on the mix. I have been noticing a lot of bands taking a lot of influence on how the genre sounded back in the 1990s. Any theories why? I believe it has something to do with No Pressure's success in the scene. Not necessarily bands wanting to sound like them, but maybe NP made people look back at the early years of the genre. But I also think it's fitting with Neck Deep, since they always had a hardcore edge in their music.

I know Mark Hoppus said alot of positive things about the no pressure album. That should cause everyone in the scene to take notice. If you like that sound I would listen to the new Normy album "What the F$#K planet are these guys from" very 90s/nopressure stuff

Ironically, being a midwesterner myself, I also wished this would've dropped in the summer lmao. Great review btw!

Nice review man, been waiting for it! I really don’t know how I feel about the album. It feels like most songs don’t ever breathe. Ben is always singing and there is so much happening musically that it all melted together after awhile. They’re my favorite band, so hopefully it grows on me

I felt that at first, but after a lot of listens lol sort yourself out and go outside are the big stand outs for me.

When they say "we need more bricks" are they referring to people throwing bricks through windows ala Stonewall? Jw

Listened to this for the first time last night and it really reminded me of their first couple albums. Wasn't the biggest fan of their last album and thought this was a return to form for them

Great review. It does feel weird to have a new neck deep album in January. I associate new neck deep albums with 110 degree commutes to work (AZ summers are brutal). Or I thought I did until I saw wishful thinking was released in January too 🤷‍♂️
I’m rooting against this album being anywhere close to AOTY just because I hope 2024 has more great music in store for us lol

I love neck deep but almost all the songs are very mediocre in my opinion
