I think it goes without saying that Say Anything was never going to make their masterpiece with an album in 2024, nor were they going to suddenly become indie darlings overnight. That being said, with their overall sound and sonic aesthetic being fairly popular in the modern day within specific scenes, ...Is Committed feels like a record that could have easily appealed to a certain audience if it really tried. Instead, Max Bemis and his affiliates put out a record that genuinely feels like one of the most baffling albums of the year so far. If you're looking for a smug and insincere record that still manages to be melodramatic in the worst way while also shoehorning in performances that arguably reflect why most pop punk bands of the 2000s' recent releases are no longer relevant, ...Is Committed is a pretty solid choice.

I used to be a big fan of the band and still enjoy the earlier albums but this new one is pretty bad.
