i needed this video. iâm a teenager. and in school as much as they mention how they want everyone to feel welcome. there is no mention of any visibility day. or pride month. which is understandable because some people are homophobic. and it could also cause oppressing views which then cause fights or arguments. but this could go the same way with different holidays or stated religious followers. such as eid. or easter holidays. non religious people could state that it is unfair that muslims and any other following religion donât deserve to miss a day off of school just because of their belief. and again. different religious ways of following and belief could also cause arguments fights and non verbal justice between two opposing religions. basically my pint is. i feel like your doing a good thing for making videos like this because schools around the world need to stop prioritising rich white men and their detailed books about riding on pirate ships and winning world wars. and actually take into perspective closeted people who are scared and feel ashamed to actually come out and be proud. anyways. thank you so much for videos like this
can we just appreciate the fact that they literally take time out of their day to record, edit, and all of that to bring us great quality books like THANK YOUUU đđ

the priory of the orange tree by samantha shannon is also a great book, not necessarily focusing on being sapphic, but with a lot of casual representation for lgbtq+ and different races / ethnicities. its a fantasy book with incredibly great worldbuilding and so many strong female characters. one of the main characters is an agent of a secret kind of religious organization who is undercover in the inysh court and her task is like to protect the queen sabran, because allegedly when the last one of the queens line falls, the nameless one (a wyrm) awakenes. she starts out really disliking sabran, seeing her as arrogant and shallow and stuff, but then gets closer to her and they start to have this like forbidden relationship (not forbidden because its lesbian, but because the queen is supposed to marry someone who can give the queendom an heir) and yeah..
i didnât explain this very well, but we have magic and dragons and kingdoms and feminism and its just really really fun to read, iâd totally recommend it :]

Also just wanted to let you know that Felicity from the Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy is aro-ace, not a lesbian. The author confirmed it and you're right that the language we have today isn't used in the book but the conversations she has about what she wants for her future- to live alone but not be lonely, to not be married, etc.- is very reminiscent of the experiences of aromantic people. The One Hundred Nights of Hero - like the 1000 Arabian nights (?) story but queer
The Seep - Trans main character with lesbian relationship, there's an alien invasion that is seemingly good for the planet earth, and also there's a reincarnation into a child part
Milk Fed - bisexual Jewish in LA who has an identity crisis (has food disorder and body dysmorphia) and meets a fat girl from a conservative family and they become friends. Talks about Judaism and what it means to women. Sad girl millennial book.
The Divines - all girls preppy boarding schools (?), The grown up version of the girl's story alternating with the teenage version of her story. So like,,, reflection of her past as she lives her motherhood/married life.
Girls Made of Snow and Glass - retelling of the ice queen story, alternating story, main character is a woman with a glass heart and marries a king and becomes a step mother to the other main character. Dark fairytale which is gay, and explores mother daughter relationships
When the Tiger Comes Down the Mountain - Tiger shapeshifters, monks, clerics, men really don't show up in the story lmao, set in fantasy Vietnam
A Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy - main character is a badass lesbian steminist (feminist in stem) trying to save her mother's botanical thing (?), Don't support the author though just borrow from the library
Fortune Favors the Dead - 1940s detective situation, main character is a lady detective and her assistant who falls in love with one if her clients. Man wrote it but it's pretty good.
We Ride Upon Sticks - rooted in the 80s. The girls are in a hockey team and there's like a pact between them where if they perform all their rituals they would win state. There comes a price tho.
Sarahland: About young woman who aren't sure about their place in life, includes the women's queer awakenings and relationships
We Set the Dark on Fire duology - All the rich dudes get to pick out a primera wife and a segunda wife primera is for politics but segunda does all the sexy stuff. Main character is trying to be a primera but she's undocumented and not legally supposed to be there. Main character realizes that she was about to get caught but she has to work for the rebellion group to not get caught. The segunda to her primera is kinda her bully but they fall in love lmaooo.
Girl, Woman, Other - majority british black women and their queer life experiences, immigrant moms, avante garde artist etc and their lives weave into each other in a seamless incredible way.
The Midnight Lie - About a world where people are separated by their.. kith? Everything is restricted to what they eat and what they wear. Main character gets thrown into prison, explores toxic relationships, the structure of an unequal world.
Naamah - queer retelling of Noah's ark, lots of adjectives to describe it all positive.
