Welcome! These musical clips are from a large video collection that is now being converted from VHS/Beta to digital. There is some viewing quality loss from the original video source due to the age of the tapes, but the performances are preserved and still a joy to view. I'm finding many lost performances from vintage R&B, Soul, Pop, Broadway, Cabaret and other performances. This channel will be the Ed Sullivan channel for the digital generation, something for everyone to enjoy. Many of the performances will be seen for the first time since they were originally televised. I will be adding many musical performances from a variety of sources that I hope you will enjoy. I see lots of lip syncing and people have no idea they are doing it here on CZcams. Here they have microphones and a backup band but in many CZcams performances they don’t have a band or microphones and it sound like a studio recording.

I agree! I met her and her husband Billy several years after this performance. They were celebrating the career of a colleague in the business. After the show, I saw them walking past me headed for the door and they stopped and spoke to me. One of the most down to earth, sweetest couples in or out of the music biz!! Not so much of that anymore.

Their music played constantly on the radio back then. To be this popular while being up against people like Dianna Ross, Aretha, Dionne Warwick etc. is a testament to how good she really was.
You have to remember what a crowded field it was back in the 60;s especially with Motown female singers like Diana Ross who got top billing. Marilyn was one of the best voices but was squeezed out by other female singers for top billing.

That's what you calling being a professional. You still have to play some of the old hits. A few years back I saw what's left of the 4 Tops and the Temptations. Both groups trotted out songs from their heydays!

I consider McCoo in the top 5 of the best female vocalists of all-time. She could have easily walked away from the Fifth Dimension after "Wedding Bell Blues" and "One Less Bell To Answer" to become a huge solo artist with songs like this one. But she stayed committed to the group and that's very commendable in this day and age of selfishness.

Growing up in the 70s that was a time when singers were singers. You had to know how to play an instrument. When you have have talent. I also had grew up with Marilyn Mccoo and Billy Davis,Jr. Especially when she hosted the music variety show Solid Gold in the 80s.

Agreed they ruled the late 60s/early 70s ( 1967 - 1973) from Up up and away to Living together growing together.
Now that's singing I hate what they have done to music these days I found the album in a thrift store the other day and played that song I miss the scratchiness of an album and the classic sounds of the actual singers so sad but so great we still have some of the classic singers that really sing for us and show love for their craft it's to be honored and not forgotten as original singers
