I'll still be listening when Claudio writes songs for his grandkids
Me too man, me too
Same! My husband and kids are gonna hate me 🤣
Don’t think this song’s for Atlas though, rather it’s probably about Axis, but also yes we will!
I’m with you bro
Couldn't agree more!
Every new song you put out feels like an old friend coming around for the holidays.
What a good analogy
The perfect analogy for a perfect band
EXACTLY
Cozy feelings 🤗
AND IT’S THE HOLIDAYS :D
Songs like these are exactly why we named our daughter Cambria.
You found the prefect spouse. Congratulations! Most of us will never get that. I proposed Ambellina, and she left me 😂
I am thinking about this! ♥️
Don't forget Nuo. Show some respect 😂
@WizardJuice you mean Newo? As in Newo Ikkin? As in the ananym of Nikki Owen?
Had my first son been a girl she would have been Cambria
This band is so so fucking special. They mean the world to me. One Among The Fence!
Right
What album is their heaviest in terms of rock?
Hold your heads high young brothers and sisters
@@BOBANDVEG Heaviest album? I mean every album has their heavy tracks.. but I'd probably say The Afterman (both parts) songs like Vic the Butcher, The Hard Sell, Hollywood the Cracked. Those albums can get pretty heavy !
czcams.com/video/UyTLzUBDzYY/video.html
A must listen :) :) :) :)
Hearing my kids sing in unison “YOUR GREAT DESTROYER!” gives me such joy
Such a beautiful picture to imagine. Well done father!
10/10 parenting
Mine also say "you gotta believe, you gotta be strong for her"!!
Every comment is just parents making up stuff about their kids
The song Atlas was released a couple of months before my 1st son was born. And it became an anthem for this fresh father. I still remember my son on his 1st birthday, in my arms, and I singing Atlas for him to sleep. Years later, I have another baby coming lol, and C&C brings this masterpiece. Assuming the lyrics refer to a father & son connection, I simply can't help but listen to it over and over with my eyes wet. Thank you so much, C&C.
I feel this bro it's such a good song to remember why you do the things you do as a father. Hope you & your kid are A-ok
I have the same wet eyes for my boys 5 and 3 this song is epic.
I believe IRL, both songs (Atlas and Rise Naianasha) are essentially songs from Claudio to the real Atlas, his son who had just been born/was on the way around the time Atlas the song came out. In the lore, there is no lore for Atlas because TCBTS wasn't part of the concept, it was raw Claudio energy, and I don't think we have the official lore yet but I'm fairly sure based on what we do know from the first Vaxis album that this one's probably (in-universe) a song from either Nia/Sister Spider (Nia could be short for Naianasha?) or Nostrand/Creature, assumed to be the parents of Vaxis in the lore (given how the first Vaxis album 'begins with them' like the character of Vaxis says, and the whole thing is supposed to 'end(s) with me, their son, Vaxis'), to Vaxis who is said to be catatonic from what I recall for at least a portion of the second Vaxis album from which this single comes.
😭
Me too man - congrats on your family
This song has a great contrast with a theme that I think lurked in the story of Coheed's earlier albums, really only coming to the surface once they were adapted into comics, of Coheed K. and Inferno having failed their children. Inferno especially was never a good enough parent to tell any of his children anything remotely like "Just call me and I'll be there." Coheed may have been at one point, but his mistakes in SSTB quite literally haunt Claudio K. for the rest of the saga.
I love to see the band flip all that around in this song, especially since Claudio S. is writing this all from his new(-ish) perspective as a father. It really highlights his growth.
Agreed!!!
Without a doubt! Astounding!
you're assuming you understand what it's about, but it's a little early to be making assumptions. just as an example, Claudio kilganon could be The Great Destroyer, which would connect this back to the earlier storyline and tying things together, because remember this is still a part of that bigger story, and it needs to connect back up.
@@better.better it's possible, but this story has already show cased that the heroine and hero of this story have a child. So this is more than likely a pivotal point in the story for their son. I believe the words I'll be your great destroyer, is his father giving him reassurance that no matter what he'll be there to fight till he dies for his kid. It's just my take of course. Can't wait for this album and the comics for this story.
No one can bring me to tears faster. As the son of a failure as a father and a new father myself so much of this speaks to me on so many levels. The world is forever a better place for having witnessed the existence of our beloved Claudio
Can we just appreciate Coheed is still making music almost 20 years later 😎🤟🏻
Over 20 years later! 🙌
It’s Shabutie
this is so good but you must hear "Whispering Wolf' or "The Wave" by SLT !!!
And it keeps getting better and better
I will never get tired of this music. This song is the perfect mix of their older sound while showcasing how they're growing as musicians.
Is it me or does it have Willing well vibes?🥲
@@Tinnsfr most definitely
@@Tinnsfr LOL not at ALL
@@SkyDawg91 if Claudio wrote those songs today this would be one of them. 😎 plus frigging Donny Darko agrees
@@SkyDawg91 and technically both of us could be right and wrong, the willing wells themselves dont exactly mimic each other. But this just has that bouncy feeling from one and 2🙂👍
There really is no other band that sounds like C&C. Their arrangements are so unique and distinct. The heart that goes into the melodies and songwriting is what makes me love this band SO much!
Ever listen to the band called "3"? ThEy used to tour with them. Great sound not like many others as well
C&C has always held a special place in my heart. If my relationship with my wife was a band. Both of us would say Coheed ❤️
man these visuals are so sweet
Finding out Rhystic Studies is also a Coheed fan has made my day.
I love your videos!
@@josephstalin3973 Rhystic Studies is a hell of a guitar player. I found out he liked MTG long after finding his Coheed covers on CZcams, was a nice bonus haha
I fuckin love the world, I'd so play a Coheed & Cambria game. Give it 10 years and I'm sure we'll get Secret Lair: The Amory Wars
oh damn didn't know you were a coheed fan
Hell yeah, enjoying the speed of the song. Claudio vocally attacking the song. The guitar riffs are everything. As always Josh is killing the drums
i am related to Josh
@@ogradygaming4367 that’s cool, honestly he’s one of my all time favorite drummers
I literally said "Josh you don't have to go that hard" at one point because we aren't worthy of his gift. Great job all around!
@@ZeMexican09 exactly! But boy am I thankful he did. We don’t deserve this band
The main guitar lead during the verse is awful.
After all these years, Coheed can still bring so many people together. That is rare and something I’ll never forget.
While Coheed is underrated by mainstream standards. Fans discussing the music, it's feel and the story for me is more important than any awards
It’s impossible for me to listen to Coheed and not get full body chills. Diggin it guys!❤️
The moment I felt the whole body chills, I saw this comment. I don't think it's a coincidence.
@@carlo388 omg that’s awesome, I got chills again reading this!!
SO MUCH tingling.
For REAL. Full body at the quiet bit.
It’s called a “frisson”
Aliens: "Give me one good reason why we shouldn't eradicate your species."
Me: *plays them Coheed
Aliens: "Live long and prosper."👽
SHOW US WHAT YOU GOT
*Coheed*
Hahaha! Yes. Perfect!
Coheed takes me back to Bill and Ted and their unifying music, that’s the feel Coheed always gives me. If people would shut up for a minute and listen to Coheed, we’d live in a better place 🤣
nah.. i'm pretty sure the aliens gave us Coheed.
If the rest of the album is as good as this and Shoulders, this may end up being my favorite Coheed album.
Typically singles are the hits, the other tracks will be the deep cuts.
Josh killing it on the drums. That verse drum beat is killer.
Been listening to Coheed for well over ten years now, hands down my favorite band of all time but i can honestly say after all these years i still have no idea what the hell he is singing about and i LOVE it
Ive been listening for *twenty* years, and I know somethings about all the story, but really, the music is what matters to me
Same.. a tiny idea, not much haha
Lol, Claudio has a tendency to disguise his own life in fiction characters because he is shy, but you can tell everysong is about his life, this one is about his son and he is playing a sort of villain who loves his son.
I don't think the guy knows how to write about much else beside his wife and kid these days.
Either way, coheed shreds and is #1
Coheed is such a genuine band. This new song came at the right time, I didn't expect it. This made me happy!
Having a son (and daughter) of my own, tears come to my eyes listening to this. This is Coheed at their finest. Perfection.
please make the armory wars movie!
I’ve grown up listening to coheed and love how the lyrics have transitioned from anger, to love, and now to loving their children with their classic sound that I’ve loved my whole life with a new touch to it. These new songs mean so much to me now that I’m going to be a dad. Thanks guys.
The way Ladders of Supremacy transitions into this is so damn good
Made a good song even better
The tones in shoulders and this song are really fucking good. Like, they are crazy riffage, but you can hear every single note of it. It's clean af but that doesn't compromise the thiccness of it either.
"Over and out there"
If that's a reference to "Here to Mars" I'm gonna cry harder.
This song is just beautiful. ♥️
Definitely expected him to say "Over and Out, Connecticut!"
Claudio writing songs obviously for Atlas is 5/5 most wholesome thing.
That song brought a tear to my eye. Holy shit, this will ALWAYS be my favorite band. Keep it coming guys.
As a father with a son, I choke up everytime I listen
@@bryanfrye8770 Man I'm not even a dad but I choke up because it makes me think of my nephew
I lost my father in law the day before this dropped. It was a short, sudden, devastating battle with cancer. The day this dropped I couldn't stop listening to this, but I also couldn't stop crying. Now it's comforting in a weird way. It still hurts, but not as bad.
I’m ready to pre order the ultra edition of the new album whenever you guys want to drop that…
Did you? :)
@@OfficialCoheed I pre-ordered the box set and also every version of the vinyl (Revolver mag collector's, D2C, FYE, BrooklynVegan, RoughTrade for Electric Blue, and the Sea Blue version i ordered from Maniacs). Can't wait for the release!
At 2:30 it gives me “Fuel For The Feeding End” or “From Fear Through The Eyes of Madness” vibes. Idk but it feels somewhat nostalgic and I just love it so much. I’m constantly reminded why I fell in love with this band around 18 years ago every time they put out something new. They’ll forever be my favorite band. Can’t wait for the rest!!
Absolutely yes
They are pulling from the willing well and the IRobot
@@anyongflerderber4958 Yup okay so you hear it too! Cuz those 2 songs I mentioned are both Willing Well.
@@coheedlvr666 I think Travis just uses that riff a lot. Now I'm like, welcome home is all over this. Apollo 1 is honestly so good that I legit bought the cd again last week. 4th time since it was released.
After the song played, it led into the Dark Sentencer. As all things should.
We are inching closer and closer to Vaxis 2!!!!
"The forever you want is the never you'll get when you learn" I love this lyric, quite poignant and definitely hits home for me. You guys are amazing, which is why you have been my favorite band for years now.
LOVING THE PROG COHEED!! Reminds me of IV and V. I hope this whole album is like this! Great song!!
The Ladders of Supremacy
Great song. Atlas will know exactly how his father felt about him through every stage of his life.
Shoulders and now this! The new album is going to fucking SLAP!!!
I went to see this band yesterday on the No World For the Waking Mind tour with advance knowledge of three songs (none of which they played) and a skim listen to the new record. This song is fucking incredible and I think it's finally hooked me on Coheed and Cambria. Well done ❤️
This song hits so hard because I feel this same way about my son. But I also wished my dad felt this way about me. So a duality of pride and pain.
I don't have any children, and I can only imagine having children allows this song to mean so much more. Even then I still get major chills throughout this song, I relate it to my mother due to our strong bond. It just makes me want to give her a big hug. Keep your family close guys.
So something I notice is that the interplay and rhythm here really remind me of the sort of 'push and pull' grooves from Good Apollo Vol. 1, right? But it doesn't sound like they're trying to make 'good apollo vol. 3' or whatever, it's definitely their newer sound. Just through a different lens.
Coheed has evolved, but they haven't forgotten where they came from, and this sounds like the music THEY want to be making, not just music that the fans want to hear (fan pandering is something I as a creator really hate).
The point is, this is some GOOD shit and I can't wait to see what's next.
I've never been so happy to be here for a song drop...
Dude, never have I EVER wanted to go into debt for something so much... Ya'll better record the shit out of that cruise.
It already passed or am I missing something lol
@@ryansuanico5072 it did pass. That was SS Neverender I.
There's another cruise?
Finally Travis is getting that clean electric lead again. For too many albums now his parts have been thrown in the background or muttered. This shit is good Apollo 1 vibes all the way. So fucking good.
Its still happening. The verse lead is claudio, Travis has a lead part on the chorus thats pushed back.
this was my first thought as well!!!
@@ReeceWarburton there is a clear distinction between the two guitars and each has it's own tone and stands out within the song. At least a lot more so than usual. I would have loved to hear Travis turned up on outro chorus but Zach comes to the forefront there so I'm not too upset.
Anyone appreciate the fact that with this newer music, theres a lot of throw backs. If you listen to a certain rhythym guitar riff in the dark sentencer, it's almost identical to a rythym guitar peice in no world for tomorrow. Someone commented that shoulders sounds like it came from the NWFT era, and then if you listen to this track, it's a little bit of the choral pieces from fear through the eyes of madness... Josh's drumming patterns in the chorus of this song is almost an identical pattern to the outro of Willing Well II. So to those who say it's not the same as the old stuff... it may be a little true, but the backbone and skeletons are definitely still there!
I was thinking the exact same thing! There's definitely a play on old themes. I love it.
This is a hallmark of the prog rock genre, which is why some people love the genre. An entire discography is like a series of novels, and in Coheed's case, quite literally.
In the lyrics, too. "Over and out there" is a lyric taken directly from Here to Mars. Not one I expected a reference from, considering it's the only album of theirs that's not part of Amory Wars. But it definitely ties well with that album's themes.
@@jackholden3649 it's also in Backend of Forever. "Over and out there, Connecticut!"
This song dropped like a month before my mom died. And now I can't listen to it without crying.
Now my dad passed away suddenly about a month ago and this song is doubly sob-inducing for me. But I can't help but listen to it all the fucking time.
This video shows we all need at least a trilogies worth of Amory Wars movies.. computer game.. video game.. app... more comics... music etc etc etc... GREAT SONG... Thank you
Claudio is truly a gift from the universe to us. ❤️
My baby boy!!!!!!!! Cant wait to scream this at the concerts
With every song that comes with a visual it just makes me want an Amory Wars series that much more!
I get a feeling that maybe Vaxis is a precursor to the Amory Wars.
same
It will happen in time... be patient. ;)
NOTHING BUT BANGERS COHEED AND CAMBRIA TAKE NO L'S 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
I think the best way I could describe this one is fresh, I’m loving it
I''m getting No World for Tomorrow vibes! Regardless, there's never a bad song with this band!
I'm getting more In Keeping Secrets mixed with the Willing Well songs myself 😊
I just finished act 2. When I was reading it hearing Naianasha say I am Prise blew my mind! Can't wait to read the next act let alone hear it. Also the Afterman!
Why does this not have over 10 million views. Up there with the best of C&C's tracks. Needs so much more love.
It just gets better and better with each listen. So many layers to digest!
Not loving the production choices on the verses on first listen but really like the choruses and vocals
I listened at least 5 times before I noticed there were backing vocals on the final chorus...
I recently found this song on spotify. and maann.. nothing felt so refreshing in recent times... absolutely love this stuff
This song fucking bangs live! Saw them in Newport Kentucky last Sunday. 🤘
This…may just be their best song ever written.
As the father of a one year old boy whom I love dearly this song makes me very emotional, especially the chorus. Claudio definitely had Atlas in mind when he wrote this song, even though it's part of the Armory Wars.
As a father of a one year old boy, this song hits me in the feels. What a beautiful song as always from C&C! Also, love the visuals!
Lets take a sec to appreciate Cooper... his phrasing and pops had a nice thump. Big Anthemic Song!
Super Duper!
Oh God. I love it so much.
I can't believe Blaze wouldn't allow them to gift us with this magical glory on the cruise last week. Inarguably one of the best weeks of my life, but just sayin 😉
My birthday was just yesterday (15 now!) and with this coming out the day after it feels like its still going. Seeing another new song makes me so pumped for the new album. This stuff is awesome, I can't wait!
Happy birthday! I first started listening to coheed and cambria when I was your age! 18-19 years ago now.
@@nigeleharis5886 Thank you! My dad has been listening to Coheed since I was little, like about 5 years old or so, and I only started actually get into the band at the start of summer this year and some of the songs bring me so much nostalgia. @@bigqueef7352 that's what I can't wait for, to have my future kid to pick up Coheed and learn of all their greatness
This fucking RIPS! So hyped to see what they put out next. Here's hoping I can see them live for the first time soon!
I had tickets to see them in September 2020. Then the world collapsed 😢
@@TheKjennings1 me too mate, hopefully they will touring again soon 😊
Had the blessings to have seen them twice in Honolulu! Would hands down no question see them as many times as possible
i saw them in the house of blues when josh collapsed right before the great destruction i wish theyd have had this song in their arsenal
I saw them back in July 2019. That walk on to The Dark Sentencer was everything I wanted it to be. So. Fucking. Great.
I had tickets to see the original Neverender tour back in the day, but didn't get to go, and that haunted me... But finally getting to see them live more than made up for it.
Look at the boys...still surprising us after all these years. Another stellar song. Can't wait for the album ❤️❤️
These guys just never fail. Been there from the beginning and to this day 25 plus years later they still amaze me. Once again unbelievable song
This band just keeps impressing me even after all these years.
I truly believe Coheed and Cambria will NEVER stop making amazing music
I'm so happy with the visuals. I hope they give us more of this where they show us the Heaven's Fence universe post-Amory Wars.
Still alive and humbled...every song that shows up lights up the lessons and reflections in life, shows me the manifestations of my destructive fear, I'm grateful, changing, losing
I Love you beautiful boy,
don't cry for me
This and Shoulders are giving me Apollo I'm Burning Star IV vibes., psyched for the new album!
The drums on this song are FIRE.
Finding easter eggs all over the place! There's so much to take in, musically and visually!
😊 Got to see them in Baltimore in September. My wife bought the tickets as a birthday present. Best 40 years birthday present ever! 😊
Wasn't expecting to cry to music this morning but here I am. This song is amazing and I just sent it to my own son. Love this band so much. 🤘🖤
All I want for Christmas is for Coheed and Cambria to announce they're making a movie
movie/tv series would be amazing
My BABY BOY is coming home today. His keywork onesie is ready ❤️
Just tapped in! This was pure bliss. Instant chills and everything about it leading into that chorus. I’m singing it after listening already - that was spectacular
I can't stop playing this song. Without exaggeration I think this might be my favorite Coheed song since the Vol. 1 days. There's a song or two on the Afterman albums that are contenders but I'd say this beats anything on Vaxis I. I would be happy with an album full of songs like this and Shoulders. I really love this new direction. I think it's a bit more formulaic than us older fans are used to but It's still totally progressive. This is mathy as hell, the bridge is unreal (major vol. 1 vibes here) and the melodies are SO SO SO catchy. At this point you guys can literally do no wrong. Song writing perfection.
I feel that way with every new Coheed song I hear. Cannot wait for the new album!
This song makes me cry like a baby boy.
This is the first time a Coheed song on CZcams doesn’t have Claudio’s face in the thumbnail.
This is the most advanced band, I love the lyrics and the animation.
The chills I just received... I cannot describe how much I love this band, and how much they've helped me make it through all the hard and dark times in life. Thank you, Coheed and Cambria.
As a father myself this shit really hits hard.. the tears were flowing hard the first listen 🔥 My favorite band forever

fuck its too good
wow this is the best josh has ever played behind the kit! that first verse beat is killer.
This song always bring tears to my eyes, so beautiful...
Godder Dam, Coheed is just too good for this world.
Coincidentally i was talking to a buddy about how keen I am on more off the new album and BOOM!
I dont think any other band is as dynamic as Coheed and Cambria. So many different sounds over the years, and all of them are amazing. You guys are unreal!
There's plenty
@@boarderking133 Idk man, the amount of bands that touch upon this diverse a range of styles and genres while maintaining a large enough fanbase to live comfortably and be considered successful in life is relatively rare, at least it seems that way to me. Sure there are plenty of bands out there wildly changing album to album, but how many of them still have day jobs?
I'll always remember the time I showed Coheed to someone that had never heard of them before and I did Afterman followed by Guns of Summer and they said, "wait, these are both the same band?"
Dir en grey
This song is KILLER. Holy shit i love this band
This is literally the best chorus i've ever heard
Wow, what an incredible song. Co&Ca the GREATEST BAND EVER. They never disappoint!
Why does this song slap so hard??? They did not have to write such a bop, I'm gonna have this on repeat for the next month and a half
It slaps you, strokes your head for a couple seconds, and then slaps you again.
I just saw them in concert just a few days ago in CA. I love their music and saw them about 20 years ago and was awesome to see them again.
My FAVORITE song off this album.
I really think Coheed write some of the best hooks in music. There’s a sincerity behind it too that makes them so effortlessly palatable… I love this band.
I have a feeling the rhythm section will once again be the strong part of the new album just like in UC. Josh is beasting it
RIP my dear, sweet husband Sigurd Charles Sundberg Jr.
I wonder if he’s singing about Claudio in the amory wars, he could be “The great destroyer” after causing the “great crash”(destroying the keywork). I could be grasping but we might see a return of the Crowing! We can already guess that the dark sentencer was once part of heavens fence, just by what Vaxis tells us in the beginning.
