    I watched Nicki Thiim and Chris Zeochling testing the early access builds back in the day. There were a lot issues with curb behavior like loosing control complete and in a very weird way and also Misano sausage curbs just shot you sometimes straight to the moon lol and they both did a rage quit like every time with shouting FIX YOUR GAME when the race was over because crashed again before the finish line ... So we shared that feedback, clips in the Kunos forum, had discussions with Ares and Stefano about those things the pro drivers mentioned, explained and 2 weeks later the 5 point tire model was announced in that short video. Later in a stream Ares told that theey where close to give up on the sim but here are we now and since 1.2 ACC is really great. That update was the first time Nicki Thiim just loved ACC the whole 2hrs stream he did. I think the video from that day is still available on his CZcams channel 😀

      I was also annoyed for like two days and did some stupid ranting. Later they did a hotfix + I started getting used to it, and to understand the vehicle dynamics - they made sense. Unfortunately, most of the community didn't adjust to changed paradigm compared to AC, and pretty much protested it. There was probably plenty of truth about 1st release car being too challenging, many not knowing whats the reason, blamed FFB, which wasn't the case. The truth was that it was entirely different paradigm and Kunos switched back in second build. Ermin did explain pretty well how car was in 1st EA, but it is untrue that car was on complete rails, and that it wasn't possible to safely overdrive it without spinning out. It was overdrivable, but it required more time to practice and more concentration and anticipation. It is very sad that it didn't get acceptance from community, and I am also angry at Kunos that they didn't gradual step back to less challenging handling, but pretty much flipped paradigm immediately.

    I think ACC would be a good base on which to expand on with other official series. They have GT3 and GT4 now, but it would be nice to see others coming in to add on to it instead of making a separate sim and starting from scratch each time… or open it to mods and let the skilled modding community add on to it…

    • @MaXuPro
      @MaXuPro Před 2 lety +7

      I really feel like they would probably have to though. ACC seems very very focused on GT track racing, when first AC is very much an unpolished sanbox, which let you race anything from modern Formula 1 to street Wangan action.
      I just hope they will create a game that will let us have even more freedom that was actually fully intentional and not expanded by literal hack of the game, because that's what CSP technically is. Not saying it's bad, but it would be great to have so many possibilites by default in the new AC game, where modders don't need to do the developer's job on such large scale.

    • @EthanDean57
      @EthanDean57 Před 2 lety +56

      I don't understand this obsession with cramming in as much content as possible. ACC is a dedicated GT3 and GT4 simulator, it doesn't make sense to shoehorn more disciplines into it. The prevailing "jack of all trades" approach to sims prioritises a bloated, engorged car count over the quality of the experience; do a GT3 race in AC, and then ACC, and tell me which feels more like you're actually racing in an SRO series. I like AC a lot, but if I want an authentic and complete experience of a racing series I'll take a focused title like ACC any day.

    I'm also loving the ACC. The early days I thought I was that bad for not able to catch any slides but since the update boy oh boy do I love it. If iracing is too expensive for someone i think ACC hands down the best alternative even with the limited category choises. Still decent player base and if you go to a high SA server the racing is fairly clean as well (except maybe monza T1 lol).

    While I like the physical tire model in AMS2 and RF2, the way the car setup items interact and the fact that you have all the tracks and liveries you need to actually run a season are what brings ACC a step above for me.
    That and the individual dashboards for each car. That just screams “hardcore sim”!

    I pulled out my trusty dusty old desk mounted g29 when 1.8 update come out and have not put the game down since, I’m Hooked!
    Since 1.8’s release it’s the first time I actually have felt the real feeling of driving a car. (iRacing has always been to confusing/expensive for me to pick it up) since the 1.8 release I have brought a next level racing GT track and fanatec v3 pedals (and BPK) and haven’t touched CSGO or valorant since….

I always liked Assetto Corsas FFB best but I tried IRacing at a buddy´s rig and I have to say this week I will get my first subscribtions. Iracing is the first sims, apart from AC, that realistically depicts the sense of speed and the understeer feeling. The worst sim I tested so far was Assetto Corsa Competizione. The FFB give barely any usable info. And I have driven such cars in real life. They are not THAT bad in real life. Quite the opposite XD

    I find it interesting the amount of people who complain that ACC is ‘narrow’ in focussing on just (predominantly) the GT3 World Challenge series. Do the same people buy F1 games and complain about that being ‘narrow’? Granted, GT3 will never be as popular a racing series as F1 (although a certain ‘Doctor’ joining the GT3 roster in 2022 can only help!), but why be a jack of all trades and master of none?
