TMNT was a perfect example of a good story being elevated by amazing production. There was such a clear intent in the art style, character design, sound design, pacing - it felt like there was so much passion. TMNT plotlines can be so goofy but the beauty of a good TMNT adaptation is how they get us invested in the silliness through the production design. And this movie nailed it.
18:03 Fionna and Cake is pretty much the Best animated series of 2023 and is why I still to this Day LOVED Adventure Time with it's excellent world building and great continuation of Adventure Time with it's Great characters and a Great Multiversal Story Arc
Blue Samurai is the best action packed Adult Cartoon I've seen this year

Fiona and Cake really surprised me by how good it was. Way better than anything adventure time had to offer, the only thing I outright disliked about the show was the ending with Fiona and Cake, but that to me was still less important than Simons story (done incredibly) so overall I wasn't too bothered by it.
Hey Mr. Cow. I think Big Mouth is alot of fun with two conditions. 1) you binge watch each new season when it comes out. 2) You got to be super stoned.
The Peasants was my favourite of the year. Not very well known but absolutely worth seeking out
Thoughts on krapopolis
Velma is Beyond Terrible to the point where I think it Fails as an Adult Cartoon it fails as a Scooby-Doo series with it's characters and it's mystery to the point where it's beyond terrible and I've sat through all of the episodes and it was terrible to the point it pisses you off and I'd think a second season wouldn't do it any justice as I speak for all Scooby-Doo fans where I think Velma desverse to get canceled forever and pulled from MAX never to be seen again and un-cancel all of the other animated shows there wrongfully canceled like Final Space Space Infinity Train Close enough and Mao Mao Heroes of Pure Heart those shows deverse a come comeback while Velma doesn't NOT!
If Mars Express gets an American release at some point, you should definitely watch it. Great movie, sadly, it's only out in France I believe.
Scavengers Reign is my biggest surprise of the year. Amazing show from start to finish and I really hope it gets a season 2 (an officiel European release would be nice as well and would help the show).
The Boy and the Heron was incredible, but as expected from Miyazaki. He does not have a single bad movie.
However, my favorite movie was Across the Spider-Verse. It took me by surprise because I did not expect the story and the writing to be this good. I'm usually not too fond of Spider-Man and the MCU in general, but this was just a masterpiece. Can't wait for the sequel.
TMNT however was a disappointment for me. The visuals are cool, but that's it. The writing was bad imo, and most of the jokes didn't land. Leo's crush on April made me cringe. Splinter's cockroach girlfriend too. It was supposed to be funny but I thought it was weird in a bad way. 💀
Fionna and Cake was good. I hope we get either a season 2 or a new Adcenture Time spin-off.

as for Best animated movies of 2023 there 2 that stood out to me as Great animated movies such as Across the Spider-Verse and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem I've seen both of them and they are Both Great animated movies of 2023
Maybe it's because I'm a weeaboo, but I really loved Blue Eye Samurai with the Japanese dub.

10:06 I used to really liked Big Mouth from it's first two seasons but as the years went it slowly became terrible beyond belief in both humor and characters and I've tired to watch the first episode of it's Seventh Season and it was so terrible and Beyond Stupid I just couldn't bring myself to watch the rest of the season to the point where I just gave up on Big Mouth to point of hating the show at least South Park is better with it's characters from both Kids and Adult characters
10:06 and yet shockingly I've tried to give Big Mouth another chance with it's Seven Season I'd don't know way and after trying to watch Season Seven of Big Mouth I've just gave up half way through and there so Graduation of Middle School was terribly written and there kid characters are not that Great and they over-rely on way too much sex jokes that pretty much made me Cringe way more then laugh so I'm pretty much done with this show at this point
