Flabby arms can be a frustrating problem for many individuals, especially as they age. The loss of muscle mass and strength in this area can not only affect physical appearance but also limit daily activities and overall quality of life. In addition to sarcopenia, the process of age-related muscle loss, flabby arms can also be caused by weakened fascia.
Fascia is a connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles and other structures in the body. Without proper maintenance and movement, it can become tight or restricted, leading to a decreased range of motion and weakness in the associated muscles. This is why targeting both the muscles and fascia is crucial for effectively improving flabby arms.
Functional exercises, which involve multi-joint movements that mimic everyday tasks, are key to targeting muscle and fascial health. Working multiple muscles and joints at once helps strengthen and activate the surrounding fascia, which can lead to tighter, more toned arms with improved strength and function.
To incorporate exercises into your routine to help improve the fascia, I recommend trying out the three workout videos linked above. These videos focus on a variety of movements that target the arms, shoulders, and fascia for a well-rounded approach to flabby arm reduction.

Hi Dr.Berg, Iâve been an RMT for over 22 years and one big comment about fascia is that it requires hydration to function effectively. This was highlighted in Jean-Claude Guimberteauâs research at many of the world fascial research congresses time and time again. Fascia requires multi directional movement in general because it is a web of structured hydrophilic tissue. In the first video you highlighted movement saying no weight but what makes the movement successful is the tone of the muscle intertwined with the fascial structure in a beautiful interplay. We canât separate the two. Anytime we move our limbs extended it is using weight unless we move the arms bent and close by the body. In this way long lever movements include weight of the limb. I like that you presented this because fascia is important and many of us end up with adhesions because of lack of hydration or lack of movement twisting the bodysuit of tissue that exerts 2,000 lbs per square inch. In this way we have more success moving it with functional movements. Hydration , muscle movement and functionally of multiple muscle groups lending to tone leads to better fascial health. I enjoy your work. Thank you.
Thank youâ€

Thank you for your help!
Im so happy for this video!! I actually stopped working my arms completely because they would get bigger instead of smaller with traditional arm workouts that use weights so this makes complete sense â€â€â€â€â€
I don't understand why so many people don't know about Ashley Black and her fasciablaster tools yet. I've had mine for 7 years and they've relieved so much pain for me. The fascia houses your blood vessels and nerves too. I have a friend that's 30, and the doctors said there was no help for her pain, and wanted to put her on strong pain killers for the rest of her life. I bought her a fasciablaster, and it started relieving her pain right away. Insane how important the fascia is to our functionality and hardly anyone talks about it. Kudos on making this video! đ
Absolutely fantastic! I just bought the tools but havenât used them yet.
â@holycow92883 you'll be so pleased! My tools while they haven't helped my appearance as much as I'd like.. they have taken me out of chronic pain.
Great info doc. I always thought that the exercises without weights were a waste of time đ but you added a new perspective! I will continue my muscle training and add these fascia training exercises đ
Thank you Dr. Berg
Damn with all 12 million of Dr. Bergs subscribers going over to her channel, she's gonna get youtube famous!
đ
She already is... Cassie Ho was the number one CZcams fitness person around 10 years ago đ
@@SoIconicLondonright ! She was like the first fitness channels Iâve subscribed to.
Some of her workout props are sold at Target
Taylor swift just wore one of her skorts. Thatâs a bump.
Fascia! Thanks dr Berg, finally know now. So I have been doing that arms exercises since the end 2020, its been included in my work out regime (plus plank, mountain climb etc etc). Total duration 10-30min depending on my HIIT menu. I do these 2-3 a week, but being real there were times when life got so busy I only did that for 1x a week. But still the result is great, my arms get tighthen over the time, I started to see the result after 3-4months. Since last year, I added dumbell into my work out routine, feeling even greater :)
Oh wow. Perfect timing, Im definitely gonna try this.

Sure thing!
Thank you so much for this information! I appreciate your passion for human health! â€
Finally, there's a new ray of hope for my jiggly arms - 3 precise workout recommendations! Before this, I just didn't know which to follow, as most arm workouts simply grew my arms bigger (even if I avoided dumbbells) without tightening the flabby skin! My arm diameter is almost double as before & so for the past year, I have avoided too much arm involvement in my workouts!
Cassey! She has great, unique arm workouts.
What is her name/page please?

Fascia-nating video! Seriously, I learned so much! Thank you đ
Thanks. Glad to know that you liked this post!
Wow I did not know this! I am 62 and have had the 'bat wings" for several years and have blamed aging . I just joined a gym about 3 weeks ago, so good to know that just an arm workout will not help this problem! Definitely going to check out the videos - thank you!
My arms are my most challenging physical aspect. Thanks for the information Dr.
