I feel like white pearl didn’t frown until you hear the sound of Steven and Connie fusing. White diamond know “pink” is goofy and i thinks their dancing was pink being silly in the mind of white. So I believe white was only upset when they started fusing. I mean if white was really upset about the dancing she would have frowned as soon as they hit the dancing floor. Noticed everyone stopped when “ pink diamond” hit the dance floor. Everyone was quite. Blue nor yellow said nothing. They probably thought Steven “pink” was about to perform judgments. But instead sees their diamond dancing and then fusing. That just my theory.

Would have been interesting to see Yellow attempt to unfuse Stevonnie, as we have seen Steven is resistant to Yellow's unfusing/poofing powers and whomever he is fused with could share that. We've also seen how Connie is resistant to Blue's emotional powers and so together Stevonnie is already resistant to both Yellow and Blue! I wonder how resistant he'd be to White's mind control powers? And if this perhaps was ultimately the aim of Pink/Rose to create a new kind of Gem that would be able to finally resist the Diamond's authority!

Shes white diamonds interpretation of what a pearl should be but blue and yellow allowed theirs to have at least some semblance of a personality. I feel pearls arw cookie cutter produced withe the option to have emotion if the controller allows.

The Jade fusion was so cute! It’s too bad she will most likely get an awful consequence for fusing. But in her defense a Diamond just fused with an organic. Steven And Connie fusing made it look like it was okay for them to do that.
And I also noticed that White Pearls frown was personal. Judging by the beginning of the episode her and pink Diamond were like best friends. Steven And. Connie dancing and having fun must of reminded her of the fun she had with pink.

I don’t think Yellow Diamond ‘lost her mind.’ She was actually the most level-headed person in the room, keeping the situation under control. Especially since White Pearl is White Diamond’s ‘eyes’ I don’t think there was a better way out than just simply being poofed.
To be honest it was pretty stupid of Connie knowing the gravity of the situation and I think she went out of character just for the sake of fusing.
Edit: With the fusion thing I know they didn’t mean to fuse but I meant the writers. They made Connie go out of character just for Stevonnie to fuse.

The way the ships are aligned at the beginning made me think of this:
White is facing and watching Pink's ship, as she is keeping a close eye on Pink and holding her under close scrutiny as the youngest and least controlled diamond. Yellow and Blue Diamonds ships are side by side bowing down signalling they are submissive to White Diamonds gaze and are falling in line together, being the "middle diamonds", and in the same turn Pinks ship is standing showing she is still trying to hold her own even under the controlling nature and constant gaze of White.
Vickidarude I thought that white diamonds ships face was facing away from the other diamonds ships. Maybe hinting that there is something white diamond doesn't tell the others or she's different from the other diamonds. This is supported by if you remember, yellow saying in legs to homeworld when Steven wanted to go and talk to white diamond, that yellow said "white diamond is different from us" or something along those lines.There are some theory's about white diamond not being like the others and being a statue or something, since she doesn't move at all and how you can't she her gem. Also since we can't she her gem there are some theory's that white diamonds gem is cracked, hence why she is "different" from the other diamonds. Those are just my thoughts though.

Steven already had dreams of his mother's past when sleeping in diamond related locations. Nothing new.
I remember a while back there was some like charity livestream with Rebecca Sugar, Alex Hirsch, Ian Jones-Quartey, and I can't remember the last one's name but she does the new Ducktales. Alex asks Sugar that since gems need light to produce energy like humans need food, what would happen if a gem is sealed off in a dark room for an extended period of time. She responds "I can't answer that". Sugar, of all the bull that you've subtly foreshadowed throughout your entire show, this is the one thing you decided to keep a secret? Also, since gems and their constructs (aka their buildings, weapons, etc.) contain immeasurable amounts of energy, would it be possible that the pebble gem and Pink's room is charging the phone as it's in it? And a little Easter Egg during the ball. Those amethysts were the famethysts. They're wearing the same uniforms as them, and you can make out a few familiar faces, hairstyles, gem placements, etc.
First of all, the Famethyst guard the Zoo. Why would they leave such an important place to Blue Diamond. Secondly, there are TONS of Amethysts. Sure, they had the same uniforms, but all of Pink's court and gems were split amongst the 3 other Diamonds. And there are a LOT of gems. There are gems with the same color palette, same gemstone facet, same hairstyles, gem placements ETC.

I don't think pink pearl was upset with steven/pink diamond dancing with connie. I think it was white diamond who is controlled of pink pearl is upset of seeing them fused. I analyzed it and notice that when you hear the sound of connie and Steven laughing she was smiling until the theme song of them fusing came, then she frown because it is unacceptable in homeworld.

I think Pink Pearl was taken away because while having fun with Pink Diamond they fused on accident. I think the frown is Pink Pearl leaking out and being sad when reminded of what she went through. I also think this explains why Rose was so sympathetic toward Garnet when Ruby and Sapphire first fused.

2) His pink bubble underneath him shatters (may relate to the "shattering" of pink)
3) White diamond shows up (corruption? Takeover of pink pearl?)
4) He pukes rose's hair (rebellion/pink's decision to stay as rose)

Some thoughts on the dream: I think that Yellow coming in and being satisfied with Steven pretending to act "properly" reflects how Yellow and Blue are satisfied with Steven as long as he acts like Pink. However, White Diamond's goal could be to "pull" PD out of Steven through her abilities which might be symbolized by him coughing up Rose's hair (this is really just something I'd like to see but figured it was worth mentioning). Steven play scolding Pink Pearl might be something Pink Diamond did whenever they were caught, and while it was usually enough to satisfy Yellow and Blue, White might have decided that Pink Pearl needed a much more severe punishment (which might have been a way to severely punish PD by proxy). Anyway these are just some thoughts I had when I saw the dream sequence.

I'm also not saying that's what would actually happen (or even be possible) either, just that WD would attempt it.

happy new year! my favourite part were the fusions that happened at the end; seeing how the other crystal gems were able to throw themselves into danger to save steven was really heartwarming. also, having theories confirmed (like pink pearl) was a nice touch. the idea that there are a lot more “off colours” than we originally thought is an amazing start to this new era (maybe this means that we’ll find out what happened to the off colours?). anyway in the meantime i’ll be waiting for the next episode with desperation
I HIGHLY doubt ruby, sapphire, pearl, and amethyst would get shattered but maybe they try to “harvest” them? All I know is new outfit for every crystal gem, and, maybe a new intro????
If this wasn't a CN show, I'd expect them to be shattered for such open defiance...and remember, they should still be regarded as rebels against the Diamond Authority during the late Crystal Gem rebellion.

Remember all the actual Ruby Quartzes in the Zoo?
Blue has been allowed to keep them bubbled without shattering, and THEY were collectively accused of being potential diamond-shatterers.
So no, i think actual shattering is reserved for those that can't ... fit into the system, but if there is "acceptable reasons" to have them around, they are more likely to be kept away rather than shattered.
Now they have the huge problem that one of their own, Pink Diamond, do not fit in, in the way she used to, AND she has an entire entourage that also do not fit in like they are supposed to.
Era 3 has indeed started, because there is NO WAY the Diamonds can go back to Era 2 now, with no less than 4 cross-gem fusions being shown at a prestigious ball held by Pink, and Pink Diamond HERSELF (as they see it) being the worst of the 4, and even fusing with a non-gem "pet".
So yes, Era 3 has indeed started, whether "The Diamond Authority" like it or not.
It is also clear that Pink used to have a LOT of leeway, probably because they knew they needed the joy she could bring them.
Now she is back .... but don't fit in, yet the question is if they want to even consider losing her again.
I guess that they don't, though Yellow will keep a facade of prevailing, but might even crack under the pressure.

@@RubberyCat As far as we know, no Rose Quartz other than Pink Diamond herself took part in the rebellion, so the Rose Quartzes must have been poofed and bubbled as a precaution. This is different from Pearl and Garnet, who would have been regarded as Gem Empire Public Enemies number two and three, immediately responsible for the destruction of "countless" Gems at the Strawberry Battlefield alone and throughout the war.
I remember thinking the way all the crystal gems jumped into fusions to defend stevonnie was kinda dumb. I was super hyped regardless because it’s still an awesome episode. But the way Garnets all like ‘you’re gonna have to get through me!’ has me sitting here like ‘uhhhh okay? They got two diamonds and all the courts. You gonna get wrecked honey.’ And sure enough they did. Now, I love me some good old fashion fusion just as much as the next girl, but come on. I get garnet being a little more rash, seeing as cross gem fusion is her jam, and blue diamond threatening to separate stevonnie forcefully probs hit a little too close for home. It just took me out of the episode is all.
karla gonzalez but sapphire was the one who agreed to fuse. she can see the future, so if she knew that fusing was going to stop stevens goal, she wouldn’t have done it.

But we know that Sapphire's future vision is imperfect. She can't see as many paths as Garnet and was wrong about her fusing with Ruby.
+karla gonzalez To me, that entire scene was pure contrivance for the sake of the plot. I mean, really? Connie is gonna not only disregard the direct wishes of transgalactic space dictators and try to dance with Steven, but she's also going to _dance with Steven,_ something that results in fusion every single time. And then Garnet is gonna fuse and challenge the Diamonds? The hell? She _escalated_ the situation instead of deescalating it. Blue told Stevonnie to unfuse or she would make her. Key word: "or". Stevonnie could have just unfused and Steven might've received a reprimanding but everything could have cooled off. Seriously, that entire sequence of events just felt so unnatural to me. At the very least, it felt stupid. Incredibly stupid.

Michael Henry I agree 100%. It felt like all of the characters except for Steven and Amethyst were just written so out of character just to make this scene play out the way it did. And it doesn’t help that it hasn’t even been that long since the wedding, when they all fought against the Diamonds. Even if Garnet is more rash and would react emotionally, you’d think that she would realize that maybe fusing in front of the Diamonds would just make things worse. That there’s literally nothing that she could do to any of the Diamonds she was standing up to. And if not Garnet, then Pearl definitely should’ve realized this.
I think what’s worse is that there are people actually defending all of this, as though standing up to three immensely powerful space dictators on their home planet was a good idea when your main goal is to make friends with them. Like, sure. The Diamonds and their way of life isn’t good at all, but there’s a time and a place for everything. And Connie choosing that moment to just outright disrespect them was just the worst time and place. It could’ve gotten them all killed, but no one wants to think about that. And I get it. They wanted everyone to fuse so they could start some kind of revolution later down the line with the Homeworld gems, but couldn’t it have been done better? Why not have some random Gems try to kill Connie or any of the Crystal Gems and have everyone fuse to protect them? That would’ve made more sense.
Hold on. If you look at white pearl in her first appearance she looked like she had more dark tones to her. And she had more of a softer version of White Diamonds voice. But at her Ball appearance, she was all white. And had white diamonds voice which was deeper than her original voice. Maybe this means white is controlling her at the ball and not when she was picking up Steven. Rewatch the clips. You’ll see what I mean.

I'm glad that our pearl isn' originally pink's. It kinda throws off the vibe that the only reason why she fought with rose was because of her programming. Heck, she dared to disobbey the one person whose rules she was programmed to follow (white) just for pink, while knowing that she could've ended like white pearl if they discovered her.
Joe confirmed that Pearl was made specifically _for_ Pink Diamond. She was made _for_ her, but they didn't say she was swapped _for_ hers.
I feel like IF supposedly White knows everything that was going on, this is just entertainment for her. She lets it go on for entertainment. And if she see's something she doesn't like she will stop it.

Like how when bismuth was gone, their weapons went back to normal but when she came back, the enhancements came back. Anyone else notice that though the rings were not part of Garnets form (aka the projection her gemstones make) when she was poofed the rings retreated back with ruby and sapphire into their gemstones instead of just falling to the floor because they are a “article of clothing”
You’re right. I thought the same when Peridot was poofed in “Reunited”. She was wearing a dress and we know that it probably wasn’t shapeshifting since she found out she couldn’t do it. Unless the toothbrush theory is confirmed and she developed shapeshifting too, but I don’t think it would go unnoticed. It is very unlikely.
Well, remember that Bismuth gave them upgrades to their weapons? Idk, it might be related, since the upgrades weren't part of their original forms/weapons.
I think since they turn light energy into physical matter, or at least hard-light projections, it's reasonable the reverse can happen. So when they're poofed, accessories and items they've accepted as parts of their appearance can just be turned to light energy and return to the gemstone. Honestly it's such a trite thing, it distracts from the plot, so I'd rather they not waste time on this trivial idea.

I have a theory: What if Steven spitting out Rose’s hair was a representation of his greatest fear: becoming someone like Rose. This would be genius because 2 years ago, all he wanted was to live up to her and be like her. But now that we know the truth, I doubt Steven wants to become someone like Rose. We've also seen how Connie is immune to Blue's emotional powers and so together Stevonnie could effectively dismiss Yellow and Blue's signature attacks! I wonder how resistant he'd be to White's mind control powers? And if this perhaps was ultimately the aim of Pink/Rose to create a new kind of Gem that would be able to finally resist the Diamond's authority!

I'm getting progressively more annoyed with all the people who are mad at Connie. As stressful as this situation is, Connie actions will have a good pay off. The Crystal Gems will get more Gems on their side if they "protest" like this, where they simply fuse and then refuse to unfuse while the Diamonds are the ones freaking out and getting violent. At the end of the day, fusion isn't bad. The ones you should be angry with are the Diamonds. They're the ones hurting people, not Connie.

By Connie's own words, this was supposed to be a "diplomatic mission". It isn't just the Diamonds who are horrified by fusion, it's the vast majority of Homeworld Gems; and Malachite and Sugilite (and perhaps even Fluorite) are enough proof that unrestricted heterofusion isn't a universally benign matter.
What are, or should be, the goals of the Crystal Gems? To protect the Earth from devastation by Homeworld. To restore Corrupted Gems. It isn't to reform the Gem Empire, which could be a fine thing, but not at the cost of the first two goals. A new Gem civil war would almost certainly involve the Earth once more, and this time there isn't a "Rose Quartz" with the credibility and reputation to draw significant numbers of Gems to the Crystal Gem side.

Something that you might have missed is that Amethyst was only required to wear limb enhancers because she didn't fit the height requirement, which was only because she was defective. This could mean that Peridot was defective, too, and that she had to work _really_ hard to get to where she was in life before she joined the Crystal Gems, which makes her story even more beautiful and touching, since she had to give up all her status, all her life victories, and all her respect from the Diamonds to join the Crystal Gems.
Al the era 2 peridots were to small because of the limited resources on homeworld. The diamonds were probably like "oke here you have some limb enhancers. Now do your job" our peridot is orobably just an everage peridot

Well both peridot and yellow pearl are egotistical. When Steven allowed them to relax, they let that side show. They’re both from Yellow’s court too so they are both logical

in later episodes it was found out that the diamonds create other gems.

blue pearl made by blue diamond
yellow pearl made by yellow diamond
And the broken pink pearl made my pink diamond
And I think white diamond believed she was to perfect for a pearl so decided not to use one,
I believe that because pink diamond was too young and knew to the scene of creating gems her pearl began to crack.
White diamond notices this and realises pink pearl was too wild for pink diamond anyway and took pink pearl under her wing and turned her into white pearl
Pink diamond was not pleased with this and demanded they make a new one for her because she couldn’t do it her self and so all of the diamonds came together and gave normal pearl (which is why pearls form has yellow, blue and pink)

I think she was white pearl that got outfitted to fit mite with Pink Diamond.
I dont like the idea that she was once White's pearl. I prefer that she was created as a gift from the other 3 diamonds (as a replacement for pink pearl), represented by her mixed hues. Her forehead pearl placement could be an attempt by White to stop PD being so silly. Afterall, gem placement seems to influence a gem's personality to an extent. Interestingly, our SU Pearl has gotten away with everything. She's not been punished or removed from the court for not doing her intended job (aka, keeping Pink Diamond from being "silly" whilst serving her). So whatever the original Pink Pearl did to be so broken, it may have been accidental. It leaves the question: Are Pearls such lowly slaves that they cant be punished?

No. Fusion between gems that are highly important, such as the Elite and aristocratic gems, are unacceptable. Why? Because it would be a waste of one gem. But if it's in a soldier tier, then technically it is useful because it would be useful in a battle. But fusion outside battle is unacceptable. But if you do your work properly, like the Topazes, then it's still fine ¬_¬

I think Stevens/roses pearl was once white diamonds pearl. After pinks pearl was punished and cracked for encouraging pinks whimsical nature, white tasked pearl with straightening out pink. But over time pinks loving nature softened up pearl who fell in love with her. Evidence for this, Stevens flash back, and the placement of each pearls gem which mirrors the placement of each diamond they are assigned to. Our pearls gem is in her head, as is white diamonds. The pearl now known as white, has her gem on her stomach, same as pink diamonds gem. Blue and yellow pearl both have theirs in the chest, same as the blue and yellow diamonds gem. Any thoughts to my theory?
If Pink Pearl was "fixed" in order to put Pink in her place, I wonder what they'll do to our Pearl to put Steven in his place. Like a young prince who disobeys, instead of punishing a prince, they'll punish a member of his court to make him feel guilty.
