- Compared to a lot of the other Xyz ranks, the pool of Rank 1 monsters is a lot smaller and a lot weaker compared to the likes of the Rank 3, Rank 4 and even Rank 8 pools.
But even despite there being so few Rank 1s in the game, the pool is still diverse, and strong enough to have had a number of cards featured in the competitive metagame throughout the years.
So today we’re going to look at the best Rank 1 monsters in the game, what they do, and why they’re so strong.

I remember once dealing with Draco Future in Master Duel. It was a weird game because I was like "I don't have an out to this, but he can't out my board," so I just kept playing when I realised that he had spent so many resources bringing it out that my deck had, like, 15 more cards than him (he set up a field spell and backrow, but I used Harpie's Feather Duster).
So, I just kept on passing my turns waiting for him to deck out because I was sure that his deck couldn't do anything besides summoning that card that I couldn't take care of. Once he was down to, like, 6 cards and realised he couldn't win he surrendered.
It was both a great duel and the worst duel I've ever played in Master Duel.

Despite Drytron being such a pain to deal with, the difference in power between number 2, and number 1 is staggering.
Yeah the Drytron engine is insane but Utopic Zexal is just broken lol

You can also OTK with Assembled Nightingale after combo-ing with proper amount of materials and ATK. It's actually not all that hard to get the combo for it either outside of multiple interruptions. A lot of decks don't use battle tricks anymore and don't have an answer for a direct life point attack.

I love otk with Starling and Assemble so much it is so funny that you can actively pump up your opponent's monster attack then crashing into them to otk.
The OTK is great, but may highlight is always if the opponent attack into Starling at best with a with a high attack monster like Number 100 Numeron Dragon
End of Damage Step so do we have to get a jugde because you just kick yourself to 0 or do you admit defeat

Surprised he didn't mention how the way Lyriluscs work makes getting a five material Assembled Nightingale not difficult at all, which can allow to go into Zeus that can wipe the board twice.
The Top 10 Rank 4 list is going to be interesting given there's been *a lot* of good Rank 4s over the years. Rank 8 is kind of stacked too, but with Rank 5 and 6, I can't think of too many that aren't a part of some kind of Rank Up strategy

I would love to see a video of cards who died for the sins of other archetypes/engines. Lunalight Tiger comes to mind for me hehe. Love your content, keep it up!
Fucho is primarily used to survive a turn in drytron. If you get drolled you can just make fucho and if you have thrust you can even set harpie's feather storm.
Here's a fun idea. Cards that are not a part of the archetype they're named after, or cards that are part of an archetype but don't have any indication on the card name that they belong to an archetype at all.
Flamvell Magician comes to mind immediately because it's actually a part of Ally Of Justice, not Flamvell. The Chimeratech cards belonging to the Cyber Dragon archetype could also count.

Avendread Savior technically falls into both categories. Its localized name was directly translated and thus does not indicate that it belongs to the Majestic Archetype(Savior in japanese). However, it is also technically NOT a part of that archetype because it neither fits into its formatting(Synchro Dragons used by 5DS Signers), nor does it actually interact with its support at all because it only cares about synchro monsters. The only link it has with the archetype is its japanese name.
For another list, how about: Easiest Level 12 monsters to summon?
So, why don't people just save their removal for when Zeus comes out, instead of futilely trying to go into Kikinagashi Fucho &/or Lyrilusc - Independent Nightingale?

I used to add both Kikinagashi Fucho and Assembled Nightingale in my old Megalith Drytron deck. They have saved me from being OTK by my opponent many times in a duel before. Now I am still keeping the Nightingale in my ED for my Branded Megalith Drytron as a tech option.

I just had an idea for a video when Fafnir came up: top 10 monsters named after monsters or objects from various mythologies. Examples being Fafnir being the dragon slain by Sigurd and Rhongomyniad being King Arthur’s lance. You should ignore the monsters based off various gods such as the Egyptian God Cards or Norse gods though as they would take up almost the entire list.

Alternatively, I’ll go with the below critique of “too much text” and try a different approach to the cards, maybe go for Mythologically accuracy rather then the mecha angle the in-game Zeus uses.

If going second you could use 3 numeron xyz monsters to link into Megaclops and it cannot be negated except xyz. bring back an XYZ monster and then suck up your opponent’s powerful monster.
Whats the difference between Hard and soft once per turn?
a soft once per turn just says "once per turn" and can be used once per turn per copy of the card. hard once mention the cards name and can only be used once per turn for all copies of the card. also because cards forget they have been on the field if they leave you can reset a soft once per turn by resummoning but can't reset hard once per turns

Bro utopic zexal was the most toxic shit in the game. I still remember dueling against a harpie deck which made utopic zexal on their first turn with 6-7 materials. It made me quit for months. Tearlaments and other meta decks do not come close to irritate me as this card did. Funny thing is players complained about cards like halqifibrax, isolde, scythe and even called by but i never saw someone talk about utopic.

It's not once per turn not once per chain massive board wipe that also bypasses destruction protection and bunch of destruction floating effects. It is also not hard to summon, if it doesn't have the alternative summoning condition, then sure it is a weak card that can only work in deck that spit out rank 12, but being able to board wipe just from poking your opponent with boarbow is just absurdly strong.

Utopic Draco Future Is why Yugioh Cards should not have both These Effects Cannot Be Destroyed By Battle Or Card Effects I'm fine with yugioh cards have 1 of the effects but not both because it's very difficult to get over
Arc Rebellion XYZ Dragon Is another card that should be nerfed to have one of these effects Cannot Be Destroyed By Battle Or Cannot Be Destroyed By Card Effects.
The only way to get rid of these Card and battle destruction effects is By Tribute Summoning them Or Removing them from the game
That Means you need Lava Golem. Kaiju Monsters Or Grinder Golem. The Only other ways to deal with them is By Piercing Damage. the other way is by taking control of them.
Again Yugioh cards should not have the effect This Card cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects
I might be wrong, but if u negate it first with imperm and then destroy it with something like raigeki or just kill it by battle, aint that work?
@@maunabesanika that absolutely works yes lol. You can negate and then destroy a "can't be destroyed by battle or effect" monster however you want once it's effect is gone. You just can't directly destroy it with card effect. But you can negate the effect and then destroy it

1 floodgate (not a broken one) is ok to face. It's a bit annoying but bearable. However cards that say "you can't play the game" or floodgate spam are way too oppressive.
