- Yugioh has a lot of archetypes, and with it a lot of boss monsters. Most of these boss monsters and archetypes have been shown off in the anime. But most times, the TCG version is a lot weaker than the anime counterpart. So, let’s dive into the top 10 anime boss monsters that got nerfed in the TCG.

Ah, anime Winged Dragon of Ra. Its real effect was that its owner could invent new effects for it for every subsequent match.
“I am Bulrog and I have lots and lots of powers.”
literally should’ve just been “whenever you play this card, look at your opponents deck, counter all of them. do not win the duel. your opponent cannot forfeit. make them suffer”
I miss being a child and believing Gate Guardian was an Exodia tier card. Even though he essentially needed 7 tributes for a vanilla. Valkyrion? Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth? Flawless strategies tbh.
As a kid I was unaware of how fierce and competitive the meta game was. My 10 y/o self was running a bunch of vanilla monsters, 3 blue eyes, a fake blue eye’s ultimate sticker I got from a 50 cent vending machine, a ton of equips, and hyper specific traps 😅
I really wanted revival Jam and Jam breading machine after seeing it in the anime. Boy, was that a downgrade.
I proudly made a deck of only LIGHT monsters... including what my unaware, innocent kid self didn't know would turn out to become a 300 euro card... ghost rare honest. Which i. Didn't. Sleeve.

@@TheFizioi think even if its poor condition its an expensive card
My favourite thing about Darkness Neosphere is because of how card names work, it technically counts as a NEOS card meaning you can use it as material to make Divine Neos, the card that Jaden used to beat it in the anime.
Supreme King Z-ARC is like Winged Dragón of Ra 2.0 when it comes the number of effects. One of the most unfun BOSS monsters.
Basically buffed Zarc with it's pendulum effect added as the monster effect and Alba Zoa's protection but better
Supreme King Z-ARC: Decade Complete but without the ugly Rider Card aesthetic.
At least you might have to work for it.
Soul of the supreme king goes brrrrr
@@thatman666I don’t think the Decade Complete version exists
Even with all the Ra stuff, you even forgot one of the missing effects.
In the anime, Ra’s original ATK is the combined ATK of the monsters tributed to summon it. It was similar to the Maju Garzet cards in the way.
It was such a shock to learn they left that out. That was like, the FIRST effect you ever see Ra using.
It's the first thing he said while reading the anime effect
@@unaffectedbycardeffects9152 nope. He says that “gains power from 3 tributes” means that ra is unaffected by card effects, and then he moves on. He doesn’t mention gaining ATK from the tributes.
atk means power
@@mrbondtux4987 yes. That line is the line referring to gaining ATK from tributes. But this video doesn’t mention that.
Ancient Chant's grave effect does just that
I don't understand why they haven't erata'd the God cards to give them protections from targeting and destruction when so many other boss monsters have them. These are the gods!
"We made some support for Ra, and a few spells/traps, stop complaining! now buy Ultimate Smug Turbo Emperor Hyperbole Dragon at 400$ , it has protection from any card effects, targeting and allows you to kick the oponent once per turn"
@@zahylon5993 Only once per turn? Hard pass.
@@zahylon5993Well yeah, but thanks to the ruling on Yu-Jo Friendship your opponent only has to accept the idea of a kick
In the Anime, Divine Serpent Geh could only be beaten by a monster with more than Infinity attack. In the TCG, you only need something bigger than 2200 to clear it away entirely. We all know why.
I honestly have no idea, mind explaining?
Yugi could have used a Fissure.
@@Salvare___000that’s tamias’ attack
More like, Divine Serpent Meh
As an expert veteran player I have no idea what you’re talking about
You'd think the Egyptian God cards would have both targeting and destruction protection given their summoning requirements but nope.
Early Yugioh's biggest problem is the anime having all these over the top cards and then you buy them and they're way worse for what appears to be balance, but ends up being "False advertising". Especially given how overnerfed a lot of cards were by mechanic (like the first contact fusion monsters having the condition of being sent back to the hand at the end phase...) Personally I kind of wish Konami was willing to errata more cards instead of doing pointless retrains. SO many classic cards need fixing, especially those that are literally impossible to play because of the way the card is worded and not just the ban list (like most "when" condition cards)
@@MarioMastarIm a strong proponent of just errataing every ‘when’ card to say ‘if’ to get rid of that stupid ‘missing the timing’ rule that obviously only exists because early yugioh was not grammatically strong…
@@TheGreatSalsaManproblem is, now it's used as a balancing mechanic, such as what they did with yang-zings.
Obelisk has targeting protection...
Who would win, a divine chicken or a milf lioness? 🤣
i will never get over the fact 9 year old me was so hyped at the idea of getting ra in the actual game thinking im gonna be able to do all of that anime shit, then years later after actually getting into the game, we got poor man's ra
I feel like I am being memory holed, me and my friends always used the 3 tributes = ATK and DEF and I could have sworn that was on the card, shows how much my young and old brain have divided and become lost to each other with time.
It's the real-life version of the "When you face the boss and when you play as the boss" meme in real life...
the dark synchro version of Hundred Eyes Dragon is probably more broken than Heraldry Crest, since it copies the effects of all dark monsters in your grave, so you dont even need to summon the monsters whose effects you want to stack or copy. it even floats into any card in the game.
You forgot the part of Anime Ra where it’s attack/defense is equal to the combined attack/defense of the monsters used to tribute summon it.
you forgot cno88 disaster leo
in anime it can remove overlay to deal 4000 damage(with anime hp being 4000 it's literally a otk every turn) and the win condition is just not having overlay in the end phase which is stupidly easy to cheese
Given Number C88 Disaster Leo's summoning condition, I don't really think it was that easy to cheese. The real nerfs are to the burn and the fact that the anime had an effect to be unaffected by Monster effects except Number monsters. Imagine if we had that in the game. Even if the win condition wasn't like the anime, just being unaffected by the monster effects of most decks and burning that much would be pretty nice.
I don't see Win Condition boss monsters to be eligible on the list otherwise they fill up most entries.
@alex_zetsu Are U KIDDIN
With the brand new Gimmic puppet cards, it is effortless to trigger even both of its effects in one turn.
Kamishiro Ryoga or Nasch only won because of typical anime perfect for situation cards.
@@BluyMolla-fj8ql
Ok hold on, to be fair, most duels in ZEXAL had super specific situational anime effect
@@skylernguyen8600 To be fair, most duels in all the anima series had situational effects 😂😂😂 except vrains
If these monsters had their original effects, they would be absolutely broken.
Not really.
Theyre easily outed.
Anime just never runs good removal. It's only by battle cause anime writers only care about theme and spectile rather then conventional plays
Yeah most of them really wouldn't be that good honestly.
Not really. In real life we have rules lawyers more powerful than any card.
I still believe the God Cards should have had (most of) their original effects, but limited to one.
@@alexanderrobins7497 why limit them? They still probably wouldn't see competitive play anyways.
I would like to point out that the first effect of ra "requires 3 tributes, but only the chosen ones can control it" is reflected in sphere mod, since it can be summoend to either players field by tributing 3 monsters from their field, but only the original owner can use it, since it shifts control during the end phase
If they just allowed player to choose how many LP they give to Ra's attack so we can use it second effect. At least it is gonna become playable imo
or have a condition in Ra to gain lifepoints, like for every card activated gain 500. two cards would mean a disruption
The worst feeling ever is when you actively can't play a strategy. Even if it's bad it should be functional, but sometimes it's like "no, ra disables itself because yes"
Can we get a part 2 this? Very interesting seeing the difference between anime cards and the tcg ones.
Little surprised to not see Gate Guardian on here. I know it got the retrain(s) but it still went from this impossibly high attack with destruction immunity (three times) in battle to just a beat stick with a summoning condition.
It became just a beatstick in the first virtual world arc when it was guarding the Labyrinth exit.
there's already enough DM cards we have all seen a million times
Man... I would love an actual Dark Neosphere style archetype. Konami would have to bring it in line with the actual rules and current meta, but it would be interesting. I'm kinda curious what sort of effects the O/TCG versions would have if they did make them.
A lot of cards that provide unique ways to play the game than just "Set up generics and omni negate everything" are some of the most fun decks to play and learn about. Like Gladiator Beasts effectively make your entire deck your hand and is the only archetype where it doesn't matter how full your deck is thanks to the tag out mechanic. I really love the idea of "activate all cards in between the two traps set", kind of reminds me of a combination of Pendulums and what I feel Links should've been rather than just easy extra deck summons like they ended up being. (make the arrows actually MATTER....and ideally in the summoning condition, as they are, they're just easier to summon xyz monsters...) That board game one mentioned in the previous video was really interesting and I really wish counters had more of a play (seriously the reason why LInks needed to be nerfed, "Just link it off and you shut down all strategies that involve counters" feels like a HUGE "oops, I broke the balance of the game irredeemably".)
If they were to import Darkness spell/traps, I'd say keep the Trap gimmick as is but change the Field Spell effects into backrow protection/archetype consistency boost.
Happy to be on this list 😊 They did me, and the rest of Master Dartz’s deck, extremely dirty.
Amen
I like your screen name. Very cool 😎
Im suprised you didnt mention Supreme king Z-ARC (Hao-keryu Z-ARC).
Please, I love videos like these, do more.
should definitely do a part 2, this video was super enjoyable
Idea for a future video, top five or 10 decks whose effects simulate or represent the deck's theme. Decks like F.A., Vaylantz, Suships, etc. I think it could be really neat taking a look at the decks that work the way they do as a representation of their archetype and utilize the game's mechanics in unique and interesting ways.
Ninja monsters could be on the list since some of them have flip effects to represent ninjas springing out from the shadows.
@@trentonalbers3981 In that same vein, you could include Subterrors since they do something similar.
Top 10 Cards to use with lair of darkness
Top 10 cards that tribute your opponent's monsters(s) (kaijus count as one entry)
Top 10 Equip Spells (no banned cards)
not enough cards for the tribute one, you got kaijus, that fire chick and lava golem and ra, nothing else unless you count nib
I think there is
Would be interesting to see if the opposite actually exists, boss/ace monsters that were kind of underwhelming or just average in the anime but then got buffed in the actual game, or perhaps had some kind of interaction that never came up in the anime, but made the monster really powerful.
Though obviously you have to ignore support that was later added to an archetype and focus on what was possible at the time it was released.
Only example I can think of right now (as someone who has only watched OG Yugioh and half of GX) is Jinzo, who was strong in the anime, but in the actual game was kind of game-warping since it made trap cards that much worse for such a long time.
odd-eyes pendulum dragon pendulum effect was buffed, and Chazz's manga boss monsters were made into synchros in the tcg which made better cus they didnt have to drawn
Red Eyes metal darkness dragon turning into a pointless cheese to One of the best non banned Monsters of all time
@@Drakorreit WAS Banned at one point and then came back with a HOPT on its effect, neutering the amount of OTKs and FTKs Dragons had access to.
@@swola1233 Plus anime odd-eyes only deals double battle damage when attacking level 5 and above monsters, to account for duels starting at 4000 life points.
I believe in ra text where it says where its talking about all shall be incinerated is a reference to its counterpart..The Immortal Phoenix. It died but it always rises and with its effect incinerates its opponent as its literally fire around its body and it uses it when attacking
Have you thought about making a top ten anime exclusive spells and traps? You could include such greats as the pillager, the time machine, and defense paralysis.
meklord astro mekanikle's nerf was just tragic, it's barely even usable now because it requires ONLY cards from the hand and not the field rather than a generic tribute or special summon, which means it has no synergy with obbligato or meklord army of skiel for some baffling reason. the summoning condition defies the way the rest of the archtype plays
Duel Links actually does allow you to use the whole "Ra gets the combined attack power of its three tributes" effect. It's not game-breaking in the least, but at least there's that.
There's probably better ways than "Power of the Tributed" to do a million damage in one hit to raid bosses, but it's the only way I've managed that so far. Aigami is basically the game's way of telling me to dust off Marik's deck, lol.
@@RaceBanditif only Aromages do decently in raids. I also remember using Montage Dragon. These days I just use whatever deck I have.
Missed out on talking about Sephylon. Its anime version let it summon as many Timelords to the field as possible and gave them all 4000 atk, while also boosting its own atk by 4000 for each Timelord. Also, if it would be destroyed, it could destroy one of the other Timelords instead
would a top 10 of duel logs’ favourite cards/archtypes be possible? curious about your yugioh story
Wiraquocha Rasca might be an good addition to Floowandereeze If one doesn't have all the usual Boss Monsters they use on average
There's something kind of anime-nostalgic about the idea of a card or skill that effectively forces your opponent to OTK you by resetting your lifepoints to 4000 at the end of every turn. Kind of ironic as in modern Yugioh, I don't think that would be that broken even in Duel Links as most duels tend to end with you OTKing from 4000. but it may floodgate you from winning if all your bosses are in the grave and you're chipping each other's paint. Still aromages exist so it's not too rediculous to mathematically deal with at least 2 turns of damaging your opponent for at least 4K. Still I wouldn't be against a card like that existing. I don't even think the card would be all that good unless your deck revolves around spending your own life points constantly and even then, only on the end phase, but I could see it being used for fun.
Meklords in the anime are so funny. The fact that they are 5 monsters makes them insanely bricky if the duels weren't written to give themselves the self-pop effect traps to proc the field swarming effect of the parts.
forgot to put :
- Number C88: Gimmick Puppet Disaster Leo (anime)
- Supreme King Z-arc (Anime)
- Obelisk (Yu-Gi-Oh! R)
Another card that could have been on the list is Exodius the Ultimate Forbidden Lord. In the anime, I think it had an effect where it was unaffected by your opponent’s card effects and couldn’t be destroyed by battle. It also gained 1000 ATK for each Exodia piece in your graveyard and if you got all 5 pieces in your graveyard, you won the duel.
Like pretty much anything made about anime Ra, I'm pretty sure an effect was forgotten here. Anime Ra gains the combined attack and defence of its tributes. Which was relevant in one duel, since no except Mai bothered tributing monsters to bring out Ra.
Arguable as to wheter or not it is a "BOSS" monster
But Raidraptor Rise Falcon
He went from gaining the ATK of ALL special summoned monster to just one target
On a side note, Topologic Gumblar was nerfed
Both his effects went from nuking both hands to discarding two
His 3k nuke can now be negated
He lost his Extra Link effect destruction Immunity (that he gives to all your Link Monsters)
He got slapped by a hard 1/Turn for any of his effects
Granted, there's no way anyone sane would ever have released him unerfed
3:00 - The 'Ancient Text' doesn't even cover everything Ra did in the Anime - here's a List of its Many Effects (I may have even Missed some!):
• This Card Requires 3 Tributes to Normal Summon;
• It Cannot be Destroyed by Spell/Trap Cards or Effects, and Spell/Trap Effects with lasting Effects cease to affect it at the End of the Turn they are Activated;
• If Special Summoned from the Graveyard, send the Card to its Owner's Graveyard at the End of that Turn (All these first Effects apply to Every One of the Egyptian God Cards);
• When Normal Summoned, Ra appears in its Sphere Mode, Reciting the Ancient Chant known mostly by the Pharaohs can Release Ra into its Original Mode;
• After successfully Releasing it, Ra has Original ATK and DEF equal to the Total ATK of the Monsters Tributed;
• Once per Turn you can pay 1000 LP to Destroy 1 Monster your Opponent Controls;
• You can reduce your LP to 1 (would be 100 in OCG/TCG Rulings), and increase Ra's ATK by the amount of LP Lost (in the Anime, this also meant Fusing your Body and Soul with Ra's, and could thus be De-Fused to Reverse this effect - dropping Ra's ATK to 0 and adding that many LP to the Player);
• When Special Summoned from your Graveyard, you can change Ra into its Phoenix Mode, giving it 4000 ATK and DEF for that Turn (as this wouldn't require a separate Card, the Turn-End Sacrifice still applies)...
And that's only from the First few Duels it was actually used in - I haven't included anything past the Battle City Finals, so other Seasons might’ve included Additional Effects I haven't mentioned, but these were the Main ones (that were sometimes Ignored for Convenience, like the Sphere Mode).
You forgot Ancient Chant's graveyard effect gives Ra the ATK and DEF of the monsters used to summon it to give it the "Ra shall acquire the POWER of three tributes" part and Sun God Unification for "By offering the Ritual of Revival and his own life, one shall be united with God" part
Aside from that another 10/10 video. Good stuff my guy
What about the reverse? The top 10 cards from the anime that were _buffed_ in the TCG?
I'd argue that Jinzo would fall into that category because negating trap cards and their activations instead of negating and destroying them means that those cards are clogging up the back row.
The Sacred Beasts themselves were nerfed pretty heavily in TCG compared to their anime versions
Eh. They're at least not totally unplayable but are certainly not playable in their designed way.
Make a “failed cards, etc.” video on naturia please! Also, how about a “top 10 cards NEVER restricted in any way, but were widely considered to be hit on a banlist” (ex. Dante)
He can't keep getting away with it.
Failed Cards ft. Vehicroids first please.
Sephylon, the Ultimate Timelord also got a huge nerf
Official Effect:
Can only be special summoned from your hand if you have 10 or more monsters in your gy. Once per turn you can special summon a level 8 or higher fairy type monster from your gy, but its effects are negated and its atk becomes 4000.
Anime:
Can only be special summoned by the effect of Infinite Light. Once per turn, you can special summon any number of Timelord monsters from your hand, deck or graveyard and their atk becomes 4000. This card gains ATK equal to the combined ATK of all other Timelord monsters on your field. Negate the effects of any monster that battles with this card. If this card would be destroyed by battle or card effect: you can remove from play one of your other Timelord monsters you control instead, and you take no battle damage if this effect was activated during the damage step.
Was that cimoooo's face in chain burn during the earthbound immortal section?
Number iC1000 would be a good pick for this list. The OCG/TCG pretty faithfully adapted its effects, giving it its nearly insurmountable ATK, Alt Win Con, and Draining Shield, but excluded all of its immunities, making it so much easier to remove from the field.
If I recall, it's immunities were that it negated Number C and CXyz monsters, right? If so, they definitely could've kept it ain't it wouldn't have made any difference
@@windmirror7083
That was Number C1000. Number iC1000 was totally immune to the opponent’s card effects, making it extremely difficult to out before the auto win was triggered.
Heraldry Crest is one of my favourite number monsters of all time and I prefer its anime counterpart because it was pretty good
I just like how egotistical it makes Vetrix sound as a villain when all his cards have to do with genetic superiority through manipulation. He sounds absolutely insane given what he put his own sons through to get revenge and I kind of love it. especially with him being in the body of a child with a black hole for an eye.
Kind of ironic how in the very end of Zexal as a whole he's still like that as he's seen flying with the others to Astral world to stop the new threat. Poor Byran, but he's so much cooler as Vetrix anyway.
@@MarioMastar Yeah I agree
I think you're missing the anime version of Utopia Beyond, which had an effect where it just makes your whole field unaffected by card effects. Also with it having battle immunity against non Number XYZ monster this would be a nightmare to get rid of.
Eh. Somewhat. Upon summon it drops your opponent's monsters ATK points to 0 so it can run over anything and take a 3k chunk from their life points. The protection would definitely be nice and make it hard to deal with.
With Thor in the anime it also revives no matter who destroys it. You can destroy it yourself and it will revive so it's a good way to dodgy your opponents removal to self nuke it with a trap cars
"I hope we hit a Tear." Seeing that written in made me realize how scary Geh would be if un-nerfed.
It has no protection, so Accesscode can just take care of it. Or if you really need destruction by battle, Borrelsword will attack into, gain Infinite Attack, and will still live cause he can't be destroyed by battle.
@@Lithosagymfan173 but that's not the point. The point is here that it's cost of milling 10 enables way too many broken strategies. Besides, Access code would need to come out on the next turn to pop it.
I thought that Ra had an effect where it gained the attack and defense of the cards that were tributed to summon it.
In the show, yes. The real card does not
You missed a pretty good one. Exodia Necros. In the TCG is just a beat stick with no protection. In anime, however, it gains effects from cards in the graveyard that make it Unkillable.
finally an anime video that mentions anything Zexal related, I feel like every list has the same DM monsters over and over again and at most we get to see up to 5ds
Dark Master: Zorc was one that came to mind in the nerf topic.
No matter how much support we get, i will never forgive the absolute slaughtered of Ra. And how all 3 didnt have obelisk protection.
Skill issue lmao
I mean, even if you skip the battle phase, you can just do burn damage to them, like if it doesn't skip main phase 2 even sparks will work, if not, set secret barrel, summon the bird, skip battle phase, and then flip barrel on card draw
Cool video.
Dark rebellion xyz dragon also got a nerf from anime to tcg in the anime you can use 1 material steal half a monsters attack then you can do it again so you can use it twice but in the tcg you remove both materials to steal half a single monsters attack only allowing it to be used once
Speaking of Wiracocharasqa (didn't check the spelling); if a player has 1 LP and he activates a card with a "Pay half your life points" cost, what happens ? Is the activation "free" (and he stays at 1LP) or does the player's LP reduce to 0; or more simply, a player cannot activate a card with such a condition if he has 1 LP left ?
You wouldn't be able to activate the card as you can't pay the cost. A cost typically can't be circumvented so if you can't pay it, you can't activate the card. Very few cards that allow you to circumvent costs exist.
If you haven't done it already, could you do the "Top 10 Level 8 Synchro Monsters?"
Correction: Thor’s effect in the anime didn’t let you steal a monster. It let Thor negate an opponent’s monster’s effect and copy the effects until the End Phase. I’ve wondered something about Divine Serpent. If you can’t lose while your LP are 0 while you control it and you have to send 10 cards from the top of your deck to attack with it, couldn’t you still lose when you aren’t able to draw any more cards?
The first hidden Ra effect made it to Duel Links at least as the skill "Power of the Tributed".
in my opinion Ra and Slifer should have more protection like Requires 3 tributes to be normal summoned, it's normal summoned cannot be negated . Cards and Affects cannot be activated the round when summoned. Unaffected by monster effects , cannot be target by traps and spells.......
12:02 there is a face in the chain strike art, probably a reference I don't get
I forgot the card was called winged dragon of ra. I've been calling it ultra mega Chicken for years
You should do top 10 numbers monsters that would be banned if they had their anime effects (can’t be destroyed by any except numbers)
Golden Castle of Stromberg would 100% be banned if it has it's anime effects
Apoq. Towers is basically what the god cards tried to be, barring the archtype lock
Im baffled by Konami's reluctance to errata the EGs. Even with their anime effects, they wouldn't pose significant issues. Just look at the new Exodia; you don't even have to pay LP, and suddenly you've got a behemoth with 8000 ATK that can negate and directly set cards from the deck, capable of wiping out all your opponent's cards. Plus, it's incredibly easy to summon.
I'm not complaining, but damn daily videos?
Color me surprised, and grateful
“Divine Serpent…why are you Geh?”
12:02 is that cimoo ?
Dark Sage should've been a fusion like Thousand Dragon. It may not have fit the lore 100% but at least the card would actually be useable.
I think a good list would be which character from the anime boss monster did the best in the actual TCG
Mentioning Astro Mekanikle and not mentioning Astro Dragon Asterisk... That card would've been a beast in TCG.
BTW Dimension Fusion Destruction was made into a real card as well.

While you control a face-up "Slifer the Sky Dragon", "Obelisk the Tormentor", or "The Winged Dragon of Ra" who’s original level is 10: Tribute it, then Tribute or Special summon 1 “Divinity Unbound” DIVINE monster from your hand, deck, GY, and/or Spell/Trap zones, then apply 1 of the following effects:_
⚪️Gain 8000 LP.
⚪️Special summon up to 2 level/Rank/Link 4 or lower non-effect monsters from your hand, deck, GY, Spell/Trap zones and/or face-up from your extra deck.
⚪️Draw cards until you have 6 cards in your hand.
_You can only activate 1 _*_”DIVINITY UNBOUND!”_*_ per duel._
_Mound of the Unbound Divinity_
Field Spell
_This card’s name is always treated as “Mound of the Unbound Creator”. Level/Rank 10 and Link 5 or higher monsters on the field cannot be destroyed or Banished by card effects. The Turn player can conduct 2 additional Normal Summons/Sets per turn, and Draws 2 cards instead of 1 for their Normal Draw during their draw phase. Monsters that are Tribute summoned gain ATK/DEF equal the the total ATK/DEF of their tributes. Players can gain LP equal to any battle or effect damage they inflict on their opponent._
How the f do you tribute from grave or banished ? Also "gains atk equal to your life points" "increase this cards atk by the atk of tributed monsters" "gains 1000 atk for each cards in both players hand" all on 5000 atk monsters ?
@@LouX453
Fixed that “Banishment” oversight, thank you.
As for the Extreme ATK/DEF gains, it seems to be a self-imposed rule that monsters can’t be printed with more than 5000 Original ATK and/or DEF, and I wanted to make the UNBOUND God Cards feel GODLY.
@@LouX453 there are cards where you can banish as cost for tribute, I've run one in my monarch deck. Also cards like that for rituals too but I think one sends them back to the deck. The attack and defense parts are kinda dumb but that doesn't make them busted. Still affected by non targeting removal or used as a material for underworld or Kaijud. Too much text though. That field spell is kinda cracked for the normal summons. Would make the field spell shorter without the tribute stat gain or the LP vampirism. Make Obelisk not summon but allow you to tribute from your hand. Ra could have the LP payment be on both players or have the player become immune to effect damage and make it a search or mill, not both. Honestly needs more to just get the originals out on the field with fewer cards rather than make a new boss monster. Monarch cards do well enough protecting the gods

Well I was testing something with these, by giving the gods here a new card sub-type: “Unbound”, which would give them a second effect box (or alternatively on Unbound/Pendulum monsters let them use their Pendulum Effects as Monster effects, and Vise Virsa).
The Anime Gods had more effects than are physically possible to fit on a single card, so this is my approach to try and close the gap in a practical way.
So if i'm reading the field spell's effect right EVERYONE draws two cards and gets a total of three normal summons/sets per turn? gonna guess that's supposed to give the opponent somewhat of a chance to survive being attacked by one of those Unbound God Cards granted i'm not a actual player of the game so i'm just guessing with my VERY limited knowledge
Anime Winged Dragon of Ra is the ultimate OP card in Yugioh DM and I love Yami Marik 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Dark sage would be better if it still counted as dark magician so you could add dark magic attack with its effect or something (itd be even better if it was a extra deck monster so you don’t brick)
You should do a "Top 10 monsters with 0 original ATK and DEF" vid
If they ever bring the Darkness cards they can simply put all her effects on the field spell and be done with it.
Please do Top 10 archetypes with multiple summoning methods, they must have more than 2 methods because almost all of the archetypes in the game received a link monster !
Winged Dragon of Ra, I’m lookin at you!
it is quite interesting how the 3 god cards were powerful in the series with ra being by far the most powerful only to become weak cards with ra being by far the weakest. it really is interesting seeing just how much of a reversal it had from the show to the game
Why Konami put so much restrictions on Malefics during the combo era of Yugioh is beyond me.
Honestly. Geh should always have the highest attack on the field and be immune to something- destruction probably.
It’s a lot like the wicked avatar but that’s fine imo
A video about cards that are weaker on the anime than their tcg counterparts would be great

Winged Dragon of Ra- Cannot be special summoned. Requires 3 Tributes to Normal Summon (cannot be Normal Set). Your opponent cannot activate cards in response to the Normal Summon. This card cannot be targeted by your opponent's card effects. When Normal Summoned you pay until you have 1000 LP; this card gains ATK/DEF equal to the amount of LP paid. For every 1000 LP paid destroy that many cards and gain 500 LP depending on how many cards were destroyed. (quick effect) Pay 1000 LP to remove a card from the field.
Slifer the Sky Dragon- Cannot be special summoned. Requires 3 Tributes to Normal Summon (cannot be Normal Set). Your opponent cannot activate cards in response to the Normal Summon. This card cannot be targeted by your opponent's card effects. When Normal Summoned draw cards until you have as many in your hand and field as your opponent. Gain 1000 ATK/DEF for each card in your hand. Reduce the ATK/DEF of your opponents monsters by 1000 for each card and if 0/0 negate their effects while this card is on the field.
Obelisk the Tormentor- Cannot be special summoned. Requires 3 Tributes to Normal Summon (cannot be Normal Set). Your opponent cannot activate cards in response to the Normal Summon. When Normal Summoned draw three cards. This card is immune to each type of card (monster, spell, trap) drawn by this effect. If this card destroys a monster by battle, destroy one other card your opponent controls or in their hand.
Not completely broken while making their effects worth it. Ra is able to use its destruction effect, Slifer manipulates hand size, Obelisk still torments your opponents monsters without having to tribute.
I went up against a sacred beast/ yubel deck and they got out Armityle I just banished it immediately after it was summoned, no protection makes it nearly useless
This concept actually makes me mad when Konami drops the ball
Take a sip of water or juice for how ever many times DuelLogs said Darkness this video
7:20 we need new supports for dark sage.

I feel like the TCG don't even need boss monsters to be broken af
It's broken because of generic boss monsters and overpowered archetypal ones.
Anime Arrival + Gatchiri was the TRUE TCG nerfs.
Dinomorphia players will thank Goodwin for summoning wiraquocha rasca against them
Feels like during the gx era i got robbed from watching the whole series, because everything passed neos i know nothing about

Second place being my boi is one of my favorite things. We need more (better/playable) heraldic beast support.
