That Toffoli Goal makes me so mad I remember watching it live thinking there is 0 chance....
there was 0 chance. It is literally impossible. The only reason it counted is because it take more than .2 seconds for a human finger to start he clock. The game was over at puckdrop but human error in clocks is part of all sports. Watch this happen every basketball game. In reality a team plays longer than the game time by about 10-20 seconds every game from lag time

The 3on3 rule, is one of the best implementations, the NHL has ever done.

That flyer defending against Tavares did an amazing job not his fault at all.
Exactly what I was thinking. Couturier did everything right and played him beautifully. I will say though, he took his eye off the puck just for a split second that allowed Tavares to pull the puck past him.

there really was though. only reason it counted is because it took more than 0.4 seconds for the person to start up the clock again. the clock should have started the second that puck touched the ice off the faceoff, and if it did it wouldn't have counted.

iirc, jack edwards was talking about the chance for the bruins to score on the other end of the ice, with the empty net. But obviously it backfired as the kings score a buzzerbeater themselves lmao

Because we need kadri vs mcdavid goal it seems...

Totally agree, I would have loved for them to go all the way. There wasn't a boring moment with those kids. And it was the perfect time to assemble that team, too.

Number 2 shows how tough hockey is. Diving for a penalty would give you a huge advantage and the puck was in a safe position. Instead homie just beats him in the corner and sets up the winner. I love this sport.
Long time Red Wings GM Ken Holland (at the time, he’s with Edmonton now iirc) was the one who came up with the idea for 3 on 3 overtime. He had been mentioning it in interviews and press conferences etc for a long time before he got to the meeting of all the GM’s one year and they finally agreed to try it out.
And what a success 3on3 OT has been! I only wish now that they would get rid of the shootout and go for more 3on3 OT. I’m pretty confident that even just an extra 5 mins of 3on3 (10 mins of OT total) would see an end to at least 95% of games (if not more) where it’s tied after 60 minutes of play.
3on3 OT is one of the most exhilarating aspects of the game and feels like your team legitimately beat the other team when they win in OT vs having to resort to some pond-hockey-esque, lone guy on the breakaway, type of thing to decide important games.
That Tyler Seguin goal is just so rewarding

0.9 seconds left on the clock before the puck dropped, and it took ~29 frames in this 30fps video for the Toffoli goal. The clock read 0.4 seconds in the replay when the goal went in, so you tell me.
