I remember yelling and waking my dad up after the Andrew Shaw headbutt goal that was disallowed because I had gotten so into watching them by that point. And then I got a Cubs World Series win the next year so that whole half decade was pretty good for me as a young Chicago fan. The Bears weren't great, although I'm an Indianapolis Colts fan because my grandpa worked for them and Pacers fan because my grandparents lived in Indy, but for baseball and hockey it was a good time to be a Chicago fan.

Caps fan since i was 5 (born in 83). I was with them through so many postseason failures. My dad told me about the Easter epic against the Islanders in 87. Through all the shortcomings against the Penguins in the 90s, getting to the finals in 98 only to get swept by Detroit, the downturn in the early 2000s, getting Ovi and getting back to the postseason, repeated failures against Pittsburgh and others and then finally winning it all In 2018. I feel only franchises that have a history of failure like that can understand what it felt like to finally win. Much like the Red Sox before they finally overcame the Yankees back in the day. Granted, they had something like almost a hundred years of failure so they had us in that regard but i can somewhat understand their suffering because of my Caps fandom.

Makes me straight up cry every time I watch the caps win it. Was on my 21st birthday. To this day still the best day of my life

That Martinez goal... Probably one of the worst moments during my time as a sports fan. It's been permanently etched into my memory. I've seen it so many times I don't even have a reaction to it anymore. I remember the day of game 5. Last Rangers game I ever watched with my grandfather. *sigh* nevermind I'm just rambling now

I wish we had the radio commentary for all of these. 2019 with the Blues is SO perfect with Kerbs' call "The game is over, the series is over, THE WAIT IS OVER!"

Price and Lundqvist deserved atleast one SC.... That Rangers team was special, just couldn't get it over the line during those 3 golden years before they dropped off and sold zucc/hagelin etc. I'll forever remember me staying awake at ungodly hours watching the playoffs those years from sweden whilst going to school, it was hard... almost caught no sleep. It was worth it now tho cuz i look back at those times with joy even tho i definately did worse in school than i should've during those times.
